Same term is used in sports like Tennis- a player who performs in key moments in matches. -

Haven’t counted Wharton, Leo and all the loan players we have lost. -

As always the proof is in the pudding- let’s see IF we sign anyone once Sammie leaves. I think if Sammie leaves for 8 million plus, we will use about 3-4 million of that money on signings. Having made about 35 million in the last year, we are clearing biding time until the owners leave imo. -

Only positive thing is that it is happening to a great guy who deserves a shot at the pl -

Truly depressing. the wages that we are saving is huge too but no one coming in bar a freebie from Japan and a 37 year old. Our front line looks scarily poor. -

30 million for him and Rodon bought for 10 million. No way is Rodon anywhere near that but FFP trickery at hand! -

20 million for a championship player who had played what 50 games? He is worth 40/50 million because he plays in the pl and has performed there. Once he moves on he will get us about 30 million and that is one of the highest ever transfer fees in the championship for a midfielder. -

For a club record fee? by the time AW is sold we will probably get around 30 million in total for him- more than respectable. -

Signing for a second division German club on a permanent contract. -
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Owen Well no one can say he isn’t qualified! On paper this looks an excellent appointment. This is from 11 years ago: Owen specialises in football-specific conditioning and injury prevention techniques. He has attained a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and is recognised as a leading researcher in the area of 'Football Science'. The Welshman, who began his football career as a player with Wrexham, also holds the UEFA Professional Coaching Diploma and, as well as working at Rangers, has held a role with the Football Association of Wales. Owen also hopes to be one of the first and youngest people in Europe to obtain both the UEFA Pro Licence and PhD in 'Football Science' and is currently working with Lyon University in France.

He is a right back and a superb one at that. I would be very surprised to see him leave on loan to a championship club, he is premier league ready- maybe not Chelsea ready just yet. -

It makes sense based on the quality of players we have signed last summer. The big European signing was a keeper who is worse than the previous number one! sammie and tronstad are the two stand out signings, the rest have been very up and down. -
I think Gregg did a brilliant job in getting players signed up to long term deals- this will come in handy moving forward. His transfers are mixed- however ultimately there were far too many duds, especially with the loans. The statement on the website says a lot about how he left, class less in my opinion.
-
Gregg has constantly reiterated his areas that he overseas. Transfers are one and last three windows have been dire. Contract renewals have been excellent but the rest…sheesh. let’s see what happens next.

Wharton aside lol. Literally the only top class player in the squad and the one who could find that killer pass- what have been struggling to do over the last batch of games? eustace keeps us up? Good job and let’s see what he can do with his own team. this squad lacks any creativity or pace and I think he has done enough now to stay in the division. -

Also a word for Stevie W- what a brilliant decision to give Wednesday all those tickets- I’m sure when we are in league one those extra few pounds will help -

Dire, absolutely dire. pears- he cannot play for us again. the rest! What has been the game plan? We have made a team in the bottom 3 look like they are Real Madrid -
Hyam is so much better playing in the centre of a 2 or 3. Him and Carter should be first choice moving forward.

I said it at the start and I’ll say it again, Eustace is a very good manager and I can’t wait to see his team in August. To come back from a 5-0 hammering and then beat Leeds at Elland Road, whilst keeping a CS, amazing! lets hope the sides below us lose today and then there will be less pressure next week! -
v Bristol City (a) - 10/04/2024

We look far more solid. the new CB partnership has been together for years so I see the logic. four subs- wow. Behind that positive spin there is clearly some ruthlessness in there. lets see what we do in the next 30 mins -
John Eustace - our head coach
imy9 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I haven’t responded until now, but I think Eustace is a very good signing as manager. he is clearly hindered by a number of factors and the time to judge will be Christmas 2024 where we will see with a pre season, a transfer window and time to implement his ideas what he is about. We are clearly more solid at the back and today’s result shows that we can still be attacking going forward. Another win and a draw and we should be safe. -
The gap between us and the bottom 3 is the same as it was at 3pm. We now have the chance to extend our gap. Come on Rovers!

Results could not have gone better for us today.
