I’m inclined to agree and think he’s another typical Venkys appointment, ie a chancer / imposter, but he is obviously seriously handicapped by the hand he is dealt. The trouble is, we never really know whether he is the guiding light behind “project youth obsession “, or whether that is being enforced on him. Everything about him just says “bullshitter” to me, but it’s really just a gut feeling.

That is amazing from Hartley. I’ve seen a lot of him for Lancs and, got to be honest, I didn’t think he had that in him. JDT might give a nod of approval, but that is a world away from the traditional managerial role of deciding who to buy and who to sell. I think team selections often illustrate how JDT views some of our incomings.
