  1. Alexander would be above my pitifully low expectations.
  2. Am I missing something, or have all the bookies taken the Rovers next manager market down? BetVictor have for sure, but so have Oddschecker from what I can tell... I don't do any gambling so I'm hopeless at this stuff.
  3. Haha, welcome back Chaddy 😅
  4. I’d be okay with this. Think it would be sensible enough.
  5. I'm interested to know your justification for that. It's 11 years since he led Wales in the Euros, but since then it's been pretty downhill, with his longest stint being 11 months in China where he was sacked with the team in the relegation zone. 6. I think if last night showed anything, it's that Forshaw has suddenly become a very important player for us (what a bloody state of events!). Baradji has some abilty, but I don't like him next to Tronstad in midfield. He's very erratic and doesn't have the discipline to be a holding midfielder. If Cantwell needs a break, I'd be tempted to play Baradji further forward and see if he can't cause a bit of chaos further up the field.
  7. Well, let's hope someone at Ewood is having a browse too. If they are, they'll know not to touch Coleman with a barge pole!
  8. With the Coleman links I'm just clinging to absolutely anything I can find as an alternative.

  10. The other consideration last season was that people were even more angry than now. Eustace was universally liked and had obviously walked due to a lack of support... not only that, he'd gone to a club in the relegation zone in the same league. Whoever the new bloke is, he'll be following in the footsteps of a manager with one of the worst managerial records in our history, and in to a club desperate to stop up. Of course, when all said and done, if it's a total desperado in the mould of Coyle, or one with an appalling journeyman record (like Coleman) the fans will have every right to be underwhelmed, and when that happens, new managers naturally have less rope. It falls on the club to appoint a candidate the fans feel they can actually get behind.
  11. Oh God, I'd not thought of that.... Collaborative Coaching Roles Wales National Team (2012–2017): Owen served as a key member of Chris Coleman’s coaching staff during Wales' historic run to the UEFA Euro 2016 semi-finals. Hebei China Fortune (2018–2019): After Coleman moved to the Chinese Super League, he recruited Owen to join him as his Assistant Manager. Owen spent approximately 18 months at the club.
  12. It won't be Chris Coleman.... It just can't be 😂 The Leicester and Rovers links are surely just an agent trying his best. I'm taking no notice of the odds. Eustace aside (which was clearly already done), we've never appointed an early favourite. Coyle, TM, JDT and VI all were obscure or real outsiders when the conversations started (I think)
  13. Amass left there to go on loan to Norwich a few days ago. Since then he's picked up an injury and is headed back to United for assessment.
  14. That's the way I see it. I don't want some experimental, swallowed the book, play my way at all costs, manager. We need someone to come in, assess the squad's strengths (sigh) and weaknesses and fit round pegs in round holes. Results driven football... someone of the ilk of Allardyce, Dyche, Warnock. And if that means a short-term contract with a big survival bonus, so be it.
  15. My instinct would be to question the motives of his employers. Were they happy for him to underperform so long as he towed the line? If so, why?
  16. I live on the A59 and weirdly, I was pretty sure I saw Pickering driving nearby Tiggis/ Shajan at about 14:30 yesterday... I did think it was a bit odd, but that if he was injured he might just be in for a bit of treatment or whatever. For about half a second I wondered whether they'd all been called in for an update, but dismissed it out of hand because I didn't think they'd sack VI. I'm aware this sounds like the Ray Wilkins Wilpshire story 😂
  17. Another shambolic window. Could this somehow be even worse than 12 months ago? 2025 Augustus Kargbo Adam Forshaw Yuri Ribeiro Dion Sanderson Emmanuel Dennis Cauley Woodrow 2026 Cashin Dapo Jorgensen
  18. Not any more he's not. Got potted a few days ago.
  19. Whilst most fans wanted Ismael gone, we should note that it's deadline day, and this squad still needs help. Is it beyond the realms that VI was told no more incomings and he's told them to shove it? Or maybe, following his comments regards Alebiosu not leaving, Rovers have accepted a bid. This circus has dragged us all away from the main feature of the day. We need a striker!
  20. Yeh, hence my "(I know, I know)" comment directly afterwards.
  21. I think we will beat Wednesday. They haven't scored in about 8 games, haven't kept a clean sheet since 29th December (I know, I know), have lost their talisman and are generally just shot to shit. Anything other than 3 points is an absolutely catatstrophic result. It's probably come about two weeks too early this, if the rumours of VI being on dodgy ground are in any way true. A win (no matter how lowly the opponent) would give him at least until the end of Feb, by which time it will probably be too late for any new manager to come in and save us.
  22. Wouldn’t be the worst outcome if we got them both back by Monday evening actually
  23. Looking at the players we have brought in since summer, I've identified 8 where I can't really tell you their absolute, best nailed down position, regardless of whether they are any good at football. Morishita Henriksson Baradji Miller Jorgensen TGH De Neve McLoughlin You could argue Miller has proven himself to be a RCB rather than a RB/RWB because of his inability on the ball, but, we were told he was a RB when he arrived. I also don't know if he'll be any good in a two if we persist with 2 CBs. Mcloughlin has cemented his place as a CB, more through necessity than him being outstanding. The rest, honestly, I couldn't tell you their best position. I don't think VI knows where they should play, I don't think he knows which formation suits them. Every squad needs a bit of versatility, but we just seem to have picked up a load of Jack of all trades, masters of none.
  24. For the Harry Potter nerds, a Severus Snape type role. And when we’re free of this ownership people will name their kids Steve for generations to come, in recognition of his extraordinary sacrifice, torpedoing his own coaching career for the good of BRFC. In reality, I suspect he’s actually the Peter Pettigrew role, betraying Allardyce (James Potter) in servitude of the Dark Lord (Jerome Anderson)… who coincidentally rose back to power roughly 13 years after his disappearance 😳😳😳😳
