  1. You talk about "close to the playoffs" like it's up there with 94/95. I guess you're never disappointed if you set the bar low enough.
  2. Promotion is the yardstick for success. Losing the playoffs doesn't leave us any better off. Whatever dude. Just wait for the summer transfer thread when everyone's speculating about "all we need" to become promotion contenders. Same thing with the Bowyerites. Too much blind optimism and wishful thinking when it was obvious he couldn't take us any further. Would a new manager have wasted £12m on two crap strikers, made short-term defensive signings, and dropped too many points against piddly teams? Maybe, maybe not but there's no denying Mowbray has.
  3. Define "success?" The only tangible success for this club is promotion or winning a trophy. If we fail to accomplish those things it isn't necessarily a failure, but it's not a success either. Come next summer, the table is reset and we have to start again. When Bowyer was here, people kept making the same excuses for him as they do with Mowbray. We're always one transfer window away from everything clicking but tomorrow never comes. All it takes is for Venky's to call in the debts, sell off our playing assets again, and we're looking at League One football.
  4. Come on Khod, you've been on here long enough to know that people from the club monitor this site and take an active interest in what gets posted.
  5. Nah, just got no time for the likes of @Paul Mani and @Mashed Potatoes who blindly defend every decison Mowbray does or doesn't make. It stinks and I suspect they are connected to people at the club.
  6. We all know that Mowbray can do no wrong and some people will have an excuse for anything.
  7. I'd personally risk it, as Nyambe is wasted at CB. However, it's not a like-for-like scenario to the one where we blooded Jones.
  8. Scott Dann but apparently that was less than reported.
  9. To be fair, Jones had the likes of Salgado and Samba to mentor him. Carter would be playing with Nyambe and Tosin, who are both still pretty raw.
  10. ...or speaks to the lack of quality in a league that's there for the taking?
  11. Walton Nyambe Carter Tosin Downing Travis Johnson Chapman Rothwell Armstrong Gallagher If Williams isn't fit, I'd rather play a rookie than accommodate Bennett. Need a team that can play on the break. Chapman and Armstrong would give us width and directness. Prefer Downing's experience and composure at LB rather than Bell.
  12. “But we moved a point closer by the results, but there’s a frustration because this was a game we targeted to win and tried to pick a team that would get us on the front foot and ask them questions." Worryingly that would imply there are games we don't target to win or play on the front foot .
  13. Sorry, do you only want to read opinions that validate your own?
  14. Maybe if we can stay in the top six for more than 10 minutes people might believe.
  15. Getting tired of the Ifs, buts, and coulda, shoulda, wouldas every week we fail to turn up. It ain't happening.
  16. With Gally scoring the first, I bet Graham wanted to stick it to Rich Sharpe by getting the other. Ooof.
  17. We've never going up so what does it matter?
  18. Should've told Mulgrew to lump it and stay at Wigan if he's not in contention here. Why bring him back for no reason? Mowbray being mr nice guy? The lack of defenders is inexcusable. Mowbray's fanboys will keep hiding behind Cunningham's injury but we had two windows to strengthen at the back.
  19. Looked like a nutty professor but a total chad with the ladies.
