  1. It's just stalling tactics. Like someone said earlier, what if he gets off to a good start, only to revert back to type? We'll be having the same discussion all over again. It's a vicious cycle.
  2. Just pointing out the flawed logic of those who support Mowbray simply because they don't trust Venky's.
  3. So, if Venky's improved on the last manager, why can't they do it again?
  4. Presumably, you think Mowbray was better than the last manager?
  5. There's an error in logic here. How can people say they don't trust Venky's to pick the right manager, whilst backing a manager they DID hire?
  6. Keane is a borderline sociopath. He might knock a few heads together but we need more than that.
  7. Still haven't a scooby why we signed him when he never performed for Mowbray during his first spell here.
  8. Think you made a boo-boo there, den. Gallagher has played 76 games and scored 15 goals for Rovers in total.
  9. Sounds like a sensible contingency when joining a basket-case like Venky's FC.
  10. It all comes down to one all-important question: What are Venky's still doing here? You could argue that Venky's have backed him more than most, but he was also allowed to recommend one of his mates for CEO, and has created a nice little cocoon for himself. I can't see that happening at most clubs.
  11. Based on Venky's track record, Mowbray probably has the highest approval rating of any manager they've hired, due in part to the "stability" he's brought to the club, and the personality cult manufactured by the PR department of this avuncular safe pair of hands. Currently, we are a middling Championship side that's flirting with the playoffs but never following through. Fans would generally prefer to stick with Uncle Tony and hope he stumbles on the magic formula to mount a promotion push than risk Venky's playing Russian Roulette. That seems to be the long and short of it, imo.
  12. Just to let people know, the official Rovers YouTube channel is showing our pre-season win against Barca in 2001. It's airing 7pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday 10th June).
  13. I don't think anyone can blame Sven or Tord Grip for Jansen's accident. Did they drop a bollock by taking Keown instead of Matty? Absolutely. But shifting the blame to them only robs Jansen of personal responsibility.
  14. Jim literally did in the second post. Stop trying to take the moral high ground.
  15. A phenomenal chapter in the club's storied history that will never be forgotten but it's a shame we never built on it. Getting the likes of Zidane, Dugarry and Eriksson would've really put us on the map.
  16. Hope he doesn't return to United. Why go back to a club that deemed you not good enough?

  18. Vogel was an odd one. Played half a dozen games towards the end of 2007/2008 and looked good. Then he completely fell out of favour. I put that down to Ince coming in, but Allardyce didn't rate him either.
  19. That's exactly what Souness was afraid of. I sometimes wonder if Souness was living a little vicariously through Dunny.
  20. IIRC, Jimmy Corbett broke his ankle in pre-season and never really recovered after that. Don’t think he made a single league appearance for us?
  21. I think Ward was our top scorer that season. Let that sink in ?
