  1. Speaking of Forest, I've often wondered if it's right to speak of Clough as a great manager. I think of him more as half of a great double-act. Clough's record without Taylor was not impressive.
  2. Women's footy transfers are the main news story on The Guardian.
  3. I'm waiting for Mercer to tell us everything's cushty. Then it's time to panic.
  4. Why do you strike me as a Company Man, chaddy?
  5. I don't think any fair-minded fan has said that, but of course you already knew that. Try harder.
  6. There's a contingent on here who get prickly if you undermine Uncle Tony's judgement. Chapman comes on and does what our widemen have failed to do all season. Like you said, this somehow becomes a criticism of Chapman and not the manager for excluding him all season.
  7. A "standard cross" that our usual wide-men haven't mustered across the season...
  8. Chapman was actually doing well with the U23s earlier in the season. Didn't he win Player of the Month? Probably got fed up when he was still getting overlooked for Mowbray's pets.
  9. It seems Watford have an Italian set-up, where the owner is more of a de facto director of football and the coach just supervises the team. And also why managers can get sacked on a whim based on an ideological difference. Although I did hear a rumour it was to welch on Pearson's relegation survival bonus.
  10. Raya wanted to go because Mowbray was throwing him under the bus.
  11. Tony wants to play possession-football. You can't have those flighty wingers trying to get past defenders and giving the ball away with wayward crosses.
  12. Seems to me that the managers at Rovers aren't allowed to spread the cost on players. One minute we're counting the pennies, next we're splashing £7-8m on the likes of Rhodes and Brereton. The right agent whispers the right things and suddenly the purse strings loosen.
  13. Didn't have enough to save us from League One either.
  14. As much as I'd love to see the next generation of talent come through and cement themselves in the side, I'm sure it won't please the agents running the club. There's a reason we've had a revolving door of players in the last decade.
  15. Just to save @chaddyrovers the trouble: "Pearson? What did he do at his last job?"
  16. There is absolutely nothing to support this claim.
  17. Mowbray good enough for us in the Premier League but you'd trade him for the Cowleys? Curious.
  18. Seeing Mowbray has a 21% win record in the PL, I'm not sure you can state this with any confidence.
  19. I'm pretty sure you were telling us all to get behind Coyle FFS.
  20. We signed plenty of players who weren't Premier League quality... particularly towards the end of our stay.
  21. Nevermind the fact Gallagher was already here for a year before joining permanently. If there's one signing who'd take less settling in, it should be him.
  22. A manager lives or dies by his decisions... well, managers at normal clubs do.
  23. What's your point? We all know Raya has that in his locker, but he's still a superior keeper to Walton.
