  1. That's one way to shoehorn Benno into the side.
  2. Well, we signed Chapman when Mowbray seemingly had no intention playing with wingers.
  3. Replace the navy trim with red and it's a deal!
  4. You do know that argument cuts both ways when praising Mowbray for our "progress?"
  5. Notice how he didn't actually answer your question. He's a wind-up merchant or a club shill. Or both. Choose your poison.
  6. I'm sure you'd say the same if Mowbray lost a playoff final. Finishing 11th was considered a watershed moment.
  7. We certainly don't have a manager who's hungry for success. I wouldn't say anything as conspiratorial as Mowbray not wanting us to go up but I don't think he's too fudged either way as long as he can keep the club afloat.
  8. Mowbray gets such an easy ride for the profligate spending on Gallagher and Brereton. Then again, when you consider the club's reaction when one local journo dared to criticize Gallagher it's not surprising. Two baffling signings. One was a known quantity, as he already played here and did very little, and another was a massive punt for an unproven youngster. Premier League clubs can get away with gambles like Brereton but for £7m Rovers needed a player who could hit the ground running. Even if there is a player in there somewhere, I think Mowbray's man-management has left a lot to be desired and it's too late to save him from the £7m curse.
  9. Did Andrews give his best? I don't remember him throwing his body on the line that often. He was another Lowe. Covered a lot of grass while doing very little.
  10. I'm surprised none of us have mentioned Keith Andrews. I mean compared to some of our expensive turkeys and dodgy dealings we've done under Venky's he wasn't that bad, but it was still a embarrassing signing. Ince made the inspired move of calling in his mate from MK Dons. Never a Premier League player. I remember he just used to run around, pointing aimlessly like he was in the thick of the action. He was promoted at least two levels above his station. Allardyce was able to make some use of him by bypassing the midfield entirely.
  11. Why defend the club at every opportunity?
  12. I love how people always reference Samba when we're linked with some nobody. For every Samba, there's 100 Linganzis.
  13. Ditch the sponsor and I'd buy that! ? You also need to fix the right sleeve.
  14. Wasn't Nick Harris one of the few journos who fought our corner?
  15. Unfortunately, it's always the fanbase who are left to pick up the pieces. Even stalwarts like John Williams and Tom Finn rode off into the sunset, despite seeing all the good work they put into the club down the years be completely undone.
  16. We seem to have been flooded with Rothwell's ilk since Venky's took over. Players who are not quite midfielders, not quite wingers, not quite strikers, and thus fail to cement a position. Maybe it's just the state of the modern game churning out players like this.
  17. Disagree with that. I think they're all mugging off the license fee payer. Paid millions to sit and state the bleeding obvious. Most of the post-match "analysis" is done by the production staff and fed to the pundits anyway.
  18. Apart from a wobble at Villa, when Lambert arrived he had an impressive record at this level and successive promotions on his CV. He was a dream hire after the ragtag managers we'd employed before that. He might have signed the likes of Ward, Bennett etc. but let's not forget he also brought in Graham. And he was working with peanuts. His record here wasn't even that bad. Better win % than Bowyer, many of whom never wanted to see the back of. But Lambert does appear to have lost that magic touch that served him well at Wycombe, Colchester and Norwich, or he just hasn't found the right club.
  19. Danny Murphy. Makes me sick that ugly, know-nowt Boglin steals a living on MOTD. Worse of all is when he lectures us on players not trying after that non-performance at Peterborough! In fact, I'd rather the BBC scrapped punditry entirely and just showed us the highlights and post-match interviews. It's just an Old Boys club for ex-pros and diversity hires to make a few bob.
  20. All we hear out of the club (and the MoBros) are that it's a slow build. Mowbray is steadily building a team that can target promotion. One would assume that means we have the spine of the team with a few finishing touches needed here and there. And yet, here we are, going into the new season with no goalkeepers, one centre-back, and £12m worth of goal-shy strikers . That's assuming we can keep hold of Dack, Armstrong, Travis while Mowbray continues to collect his retirement fund. Laughing stock.
