  1. For a dodgy keeper, Brentford have the second best backline in the league. We've conceded 24 goals more.
  2. Yup, seen it. Good film but it does take certain liberties. Also, Timothy Spall was woefully miscast as Peter Taylor.
  3. Way before my time, but were Don Revie's Leeds really bent as a nine bob note? Consensus seems to be they had enough talent to win titles on merit without cheating their asses off.
  4. Unfortunately, there is some sense in what the MoBros are saying. We are not a normal football club, and in situations like ours it's sometimes better to stick with the devil you know than risk plumbing the depths for the likes of Owen Coyle. There was a time when the Rovers manager had a target (promotion, survival) and if he failed to meet that target his position would be reviewed, under the auspices of messieurs Williams and Finn. Sometimes a manager would be given a certain length of rope to hang himself but ultimately if his position was untenable he'd be gone. Most of the suits at Rovers now are glorified paper-pushers with no real executive power. It's been like that from the beginning. Everything rests on the whims of the Punatics and the unseen forces working the club. Barring a takeover, the only hope is that sooner or later the interests of Rovers and the interests of its "advisors" will align in a stroke of serendipity. Don't bank on it, though.
  5. Stability, stability, stability. That was the popular buzzword during Bowyer's time and now it's reared its ugly head once more. There is no stability at Rovers. Things could turn very sour, very quickly.
  6. How did it go for Mowbray at Celtic and Coventry?
  7. What I wouldn't give for us to have that "Bad Boy" moniker from the Sparky era.
  8. I think Haaland accused Keane of simulation to cover up the foul, even though Keane was genuinely injured (his own fault). You're right, that's a myth.
  9. Didn't that whole vendetta happen because Keane injured himself trying to trip Haaland? Somehow that justified a career-ending assault. Psychopath.
  10. It's not THAT bad. He did win the Championship with Sunderland. There's a host of reasons Keane wouldn't come here but it would be fun to see the culture shock it would bring to the training ground.
  11. Well, seeing as we were 3pts from safety with 15 games to go... I'd say yeah, he pretty much did. You'll have to remind me, did Bowyer have over £12m to spend on players?
  12. They're factually true. Do you care to prove otherwise or are you just shitposting?
  13. This European Scouting system is the Emperor's new clothes.
  14. Player plays shit. Gets called shit. "NOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THAAAAAT! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!"
  15. Stockholm Syndrome. The club is basically being held hostage and we're grateful they haven't shot us.
  16. Loyalty? We kept faith with Mowbray after he took us down. He was also rewarded with significantly more to spend on players than recent managers (which he splurged on garbage). Don't give me loyalty.
  17. Won't happen, Mercer. Too many conflicts of interest.
  18. And probably why Keane wouldn't last two seconds here.
  19. We both know the problems run a lot deeper than that. The club is still being run by football agents. That's what happens when you have disinterested, absentee owners and no organisational structure. They remember all the heat that got directed at SEM/Kentaro which prompted Jerome Anderson to do that puff piece on SSN and spill crocodile tears. It's being kept on the down-low and on a smaller scale due to our diminished status but it's business as usual.
  20. Don't know how anyone can be remotely excited about transfers when it's patently obvious this club still isn't being run on the up and up.
  21. Unfortunately the goodwill from the League One promotion, coupled with the dumbing down of expectations after a decade of Venky ownership has given him Brian Clough status at the club. It should be a two-way street. He should be grateful we saved him from the managerial scrapheap after he tanked at Coventry.
  22. Didn't look like he was trying hard to get back for Millwall's winner last night.
  23. Myers has spoken. We don't know how lucky we are to have Bennett
  24. Oh cry me a river. Man gets paid thousands to be crap at his job. He gets a few pelters on twitter and suddenly the club shills and ballwashers are out in force to detract from another non-performance.
