  1. Not hindsight. Gallagher was no great shakes the first time he was here. The fact we forked out £5m to get him back was barmy.
  2. We were talking about Gallagher and the money blown in the summer. Stop moving the goalposts.
  3. You mean in the half-hour of first team football he's played?
  4. Plenty of cheap, low-risk signings who can "contribute". Gallagher has been AT BEST a mixed bag either up front, or on the wing. We've spent £5m on a non-scoring striker who can't play as a winger. Bonkers.
  5. The facts don't care about your opinion. Reality is that his goal return has been pitiful.
  6. We overpaid for both. Gallagher has made some contribution but that money could’ve been spent on a goalscorer or a right winger. We’ve got neither.
  7. They unconditionally backed Kean despite narrowly avoiding relegation in his first season and taking us down the year after. He still had to resign in the end. Let no man claim ignorance as an excuse.
  8. Well, the original point was that from day one Venky’s have been willing to spend money, but most of the money was recouped from player sales. It wasn’t a QPR or Portsmouth type scenario, although we all went the same way. And we’ve hardly broke the bank in the Championship. Even in our first year down when we signed Rhodes, Best etc. our net spend was still only approx £5m.
  9. Venky’s have made a series of expensive blunders, mostly paying off managers and gagging orders but it’s a myth that they’ve always been willing to flash the cash in the transfer market. Take into account the money from Jones, Samba, Kalinic and Nzonzi, and our net spend was pretty low.
  10. Skint. devoted owners vs rich, absentee owners? ?
  11. I know who the club would have: whomever’s cheaper.
  12. No win in five. String of lacklustre performances. People aren’t stupid. They know this is an inconsistent team prone to the occasional burst of good form before the inevitable drop off. That win at Wednesday changed nowt.
  13. A freak win after a miserable run of form. These are the same fans you accuse of being fickle but you want them to flock back after one result?
  14. Good result but that second half would’ve sobered up anyone still high on the 5-0 drubbing. Players like Bennett and Bell really need to be phased out of the side. Not good enough for a team with designs on promotion (which I guess means us?). Also time to ditch the tall, gangly, uncoordinated centre-forward playing right wing.
