  1. So, he wasn’t good at this level or had any of those international caps before this season? Just admit you blow like the wind.
  2. I hope Holtby isn’t too flighty to play on the wing. There's no room for mavericks here.
  3. Did we pay his bus fare?
  4. I was gonna ask what are they on? The answer: everything.
  5. A plank? I’m literally shaking right now.
  6. Except that's not what happened. Gladwin was contracted for two years. He got injured and was paid right up until his contact expired in summer 2019. There was nothing to stop him training at the club after that, but on what grounds did we owe him another six months wages? I could understand rewarding a player who was loyal and a solid performer but he was shite for us (as you even concede).
  7. All this negativity and brooding resentment boggles the mind. I mean, we've had so much to cheer about in the last 10 years!
  8. How does Chaddy currently feel about Mowbray? Let's check:
  9. It's groundhog day. Bowyer and Mowbray. Two managers with nice guy personas, company men. Have a knack of pulling a result out of the bag when pressure's mounting. Put together a winning run only to deflate all expectations. Top six nosebleeds. Shoehorn their pets into the side (Lowe, Bennett)
  10. We've reached the point where I can't tell fake quotes from real ones.
  11. A classic Mowbray gem. Anyone have any clue as to how we play?
  12. Maybe the real Player of the Year is the friends we made along the way?
  13. Probably a few misty-eyes when it comes to the quality of MGP's set-pieces. With the amount of corners, free-kicks, and long-throws that he took (esp under Allardyce) it was simple law of averages that he'd set-up a few. Very much a MOTD player, imo. Obviously a cut above some of the dross we have now but that's neither here nor there.
  14. Might be able to get a couple million and change for Gallagher. Some clubs could be convinced he's just been a bad fit at Rovers. Brereton? Dread to think. He'll bounce in and out on loan for a couple seasons then leave for peanuts.
  15. Positional discipline at the back is crucial to play 3-5-2. You think our bunch of plodders have it in 'em?
  16. I expect if Allardyce were here, he'd use Downing in a similar role. midfield sitter and play for set-pieces. How's Downing's long throws?
  17. Anyone who wants MGP needs their head tested.
  18. You don't have to. Just accept that you opinions will not go unchallenged.
  19. Yaaaaay I can’t wait for the manager to sign more players for the tombola!
  20. Evans always seems to wrangle a new contract out of us based on a handful of neat and tidy performances. I'd love to cash in and buy a proper little bulldog in midfield. That’s what we’re missing.
  21. Mowbray's transfer record is spotty AT BEST. I've probably been a little harsh with some and too generous with others. Red = flop Orange = unproven/average Green = success Peter Whittingham Richie Smallwood Bradley Dack Ben Gladwin Dominic Samuel Paul Caddis Jason Leutwiler Paul Downing Amari'i Bell Joe Rothwell Adam Armstrong Jack Rodwell Ben Brereton Harry Chapman Bradley Johnson Sam Gallagher Lewis Holtby
  22. Every managerial appointment is a gamble. Sometimes a manager looks good on paper and flatters to deceive, whereas some clubs make low-key appointments that fit like a glove. None of us have a crystal ball, but from what we've seen of Mowbray in almost three years, he's a tinkerer who can't build from the back, decide on a best XI or spend money wisely. His one astute piece of business (Dack) has pretty much carried us. We've never looked particularly convincing as a team, even during our L1 promotion season.
