  1. Exactly. And i for one think out of contract players at all championship clubs will be in for rude awakening when they go looking for new clubs. The days of players getting 25k+ per week are over in this division imo
  2. Have you heard of ffp?And you do realise we were running our wage bill 180% to turnover. Do you know exactly what the players are asking for? I agree you shouldnt be letting assets go for free but like others have said up until this season Rothwell and Lenihen were not showing anything special in this league. Hypothetically Lenihen and Rothwell want 18k+ per week, they sign 3/4 year contract on those terms and then say Lenihen reverts to type and goes back to being the bog standard Championship defender was, he instantly becomes more of a hinderence than an asset as to sell him you have to get a club willing to take on that wage and as we seen with Mulgrew that isnt easy Lets not pretend that prior to this season Lenihen and Rothwell were showing form that would have led to big profits if we sold them.
  3. Was that the owners or on the advice of Jerome Anderson and his cronies? Im not disputing they are awful owners and have no buisness in football but they have wasted an absolute fortune in giving contracts out to players that werent worth the money. After the first lockdown and the football break they agreed to carry on paying the wages of the players who were out of contract, on Mowbrays recommendation.Players that didnt play in those remaining games. I disagree with your last paragraph we cant just pay the players what they are asking for.Them signing new deals doesnt guarantee promotion and without knowing exactly what the 3 are asking for its too simple to just lay ALL the blame at the owners door

  5. Trippier wouldnt have been on peanuts at Athletico. His move is odd ,Champions league to a relegation battle.
  6. And no mention of the contracts given to the likes of Etuhu, Best, Murphy, Gomes. High cost deals, Best and Murphy were probably brought in on better contracts than Nelson etc. All those contracts paid up when the club released them. Paying Mulgrews lucrative deal whilst he played for league one Fleetwood or our reserves.
  7. Chapman is back from his loan He cant play for another club this season after already making league appearances for Rovers and Burton.
  8. It depends who else they bring in but with Watford dropping like a stone it will probably end up between Newcastle and the Dingles for that last remaining spot. As much as id Laugh seeing Newcastle relegated id prefer it to be Burnley
  9. Manchester United should have been all over that deal. Trippier has been playing at the highest level for Athletico Madrid and just find it very surprising he has joined a club currently 2nd bottom in the Premier league.
  10. Very good post Tomphil.Summed up better than i could
  11. Yeah and we draw City at home in the next round and get thumped 6-0 and pick up a couple of injuries along the way. We have a squad and are playing against league 1 opposition. The squad players need match practice too and imo with our current position in the league and squad size a number of players should be rested for this.Cardiff away, Hull away and Boro home follow this match, the priority is those matches.
  12. Coutinho joins Villa on loan for rest of the season.Quality player. Surprised there wasnt interest from higher placed teams than Newcastle in Trippier.£12 million for a man of his quality and experience is a bargain.
  13. Dont like giving out Contracts?Tell that to Mulgrew, Evans , Bennett etc etc etc etc I think the complete opposite to you one of the biggest problems throughout their reign has been signing off on long term contracts too easy in the past.
  14. Rose tinted glasses maybe, but you my friend have a downer and conspiracy theory over every single thing the club does. We have had these debates before.Lets take your line where you reckon the owners only spend in the market on foward players and players that could bring in potential profit.Transfer fee wise maybe but you disregard the raft of ageing players brought in on free transfers.Take Ayala for example so you would have me believe that he signed on here on less money than at Boro without the club sweetening him with a signing on fee?.Holtby said he had other lucrative offers when he signed.Johnson etc.Given 2+1 year deals is a big financial committment by the owners as they have no resale value. Mowbray stated on video today no eye watering bids for any players. Is it him who is deciding the players value or the owners? Its dissapointing that the 3 lads are coming to the end of their deals and agreed the club should have been more proactive in getting deals done but we aint the only club who have key men not signing new contracts. I suppose Millwall didnt offer Jed Wallace a new deal or Liverpool are only trying to fool the fans by pretending they have offered Salah a new contract similar with Pogba. Have you any proof that Gallagher didnt get a pay rise but even if he didnt more years means a committment to his wage which is top end of our wage structure and he aint shown enough yet to suggest we would recieve much in a transfer fee if he was sold. 3+1 if true is again a big financial committment up until this season i wouldnt have been offering that legnth of contract to Lenihen and Rothwell IF they were wanting top end wages. Also im well aware that clubs will have promotion bonuses etc but from the way Nixon wrote that article it was suggestive they had stepped in with a bigger offer.
  15. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19829954.blackburn-rovers-ryan-nyambe-contract-stalemate-a-shame/ Mowbray telling bare faced lies in your opinion? As he saying here Nyambe has an offer on the table.
  16. Historically yeah we are a big club. But the game has totally changed in the last 20 years. With the introduction of ffp and the wages and transfer fees spiralling out of control then it makes it extremely difficult for a club our size to compete. This isnt a defence of the owners or the people on the ground as the way the club has been run has been amateur throughout the Rao reign but it isnt as easy as some are suggesting to get these 3 to sign on here long term. If you go through all Championship clubs many have important team members out of contract at the end of thr season.
  17. And it amazes me that you think your theories are fact and anyone who thinks different is deluded. What about this 10 million bonus supposedly on the table? Gallagher given a new deal but the owners aint even allowing discussions to be had with the players out of contract this summer? The club have said 3+1 year deals on the table for the 3 of them. Obviously the deals on the table aint sufficient for the 3 to sign on but i do not believe like you that no offers have been made...if they havent then surely at least 1 of those 3 will go public that Rovers didnt offer them a new deal when they move on.
  18. Those are the two that people have been asking Sharpe on twitter about. Its less than 48hrs since sky said that the owners have said nobody for sale.
  19. Yeah Sharpe said same on twitter, 4-6.So hopefully like you say be at the lower end.Still be a loss Cardiff,Hull and Boro he will definitely miss
  20. Telegraph story reckons 6 weeks. Was put on 20 minutes ago Same article reckons we will be without a couple at weekend due to Covid.
  21. Pickering out for a minimum of 6 weeks.Big blow
  22. Nixom reckons we aint in the running for Souttar. Was an option if Lenihen was sold. Sheffield United and Stoke the frontrunners according to Nixon
  23. Nyambe and Rothwell didnt have their contract extensions triggered until last summer. He isnt going anywhere this window.Chill
  24. Jed Wallace agrees pre contract with Besiktas. Does'nt seem like we are the only championship.club with key men running down their contracts. James Hill the defender from Fleetwood on his way to Bournemouth for a medical
