Then why where we having bids of 4 million for Luke Freeman last summer, and didn't we agree a fee for Celina only for him to get a better offer from Swansea? Mowbray has had a hard on for Gallagher since his loan spell,he spent all last summer chasing him and when he didn't get him panicked into buying Brererton for 7 million. He has had a very very decent budget since we got promoted and he hasn't had to sell any player. He wasn't bothered about Raya leaving. They backed him and he could have spent the money a lot more wisely. -

Downing and Johnson will not have come cheap, million pound loan fee for tosin if reports are true,I'd imagine we are paying some of his 25 grand a week wage that he is on at City.Holtby would have got a significant signing on fee for him to join us and we paid out 5 million for Gallagher. We did spend in the summer.Johnson was on good money at Derby with another year left he didn't sign for peanuts and neither did Downing. -

You are correct -
I doubt we are in for him seen a few clubs mentioned forest, Bristol city and according to Nixon Wigan had an interest but don't have the money think Burnley looking for 5 million+
-
Talk of Nakhi wells being recalled by Burnley so they can sell him on before the deadline. Be a loss for QPR
-
If this all true then why was Dack risked in the Wigan game.stupidity if we had agreed to a sale

Not that iv seen.Nixon reckons Forest are in for him.Brighton willing to let him go for free to a championship club but want 500k if he joins another team in the premier League ,Norwich and Villa have asked about him -

No doubting he would be an upgrade on what we have but he is very injury prone plus he will have to get used to how we play -
With Buckley being involved tonight hopefully that points to Holtby being fit for tomorrow

I agree to an extent but Mowbray doesn't make things easy for himself with some of the comments he comes out with to the media. What purpose does it serve repeatedly telling the media that any prospective new signing will have to spend time learning the way we play? Its not as if we play a complicated brand of football. Harrison Reed being told he has to learn how to play like Smallwood and Evans?6 months later Reed gets a 5 million move to one of the promotion favourites whilst Smallwood hasn't kicked a ball in the league this season. Why would any premier League team be interested in loaning us any of their younger or decent fringe players when they are being told they won't play but will have to first learn how to play the game like Bennett, Bell, Evans, Smallwood etc?? -

I agree with you.Im sure any supporter would but the club have chosen to go down a different path. We have to be a bit realistic it's not going to happen with the Venkys in charge where we will pay the transfer fee and the salary required to buy quality proven players. Mowbray was interested in Bamford when we came back up and said the fee and salary wasn't viable -

I'm not disagreeing with you.In the club's mind it's probably all out about Re-sale value, thus far they haven't worked out but Armstrong, Brererton and Gallagher all young and all English if any of them where a success then you talking about doubling, tripling or even higher when we sell them on -

Mowbray spoke of giving free agents a decent signing on fee to make up for the cut in their wages.Think that happened with Johnson ,Holtby and Downing. Be very very surprised if we are paying Evans 20k a week -

The thing with that is if we brought someone in on a massive wage compared to the rest and if the player didn't perform the manager would have the rest of the players banging on his door demanding wage increases -

Before our good run you thought it was near the end for Mowbray? We have reverted back to type,I know there are injuries and fitness issues etc but the amount of changes Mowbray made to the team over the festive period was ridiculous. I had a little teeny glimmer of hope during our decent spell that Mowbray had finally cottoned on and would start to play a settled line up with players mostly in their correct positions. He has been unfortunate with Dacks injury but since it Mowbray doesn't seem to have a clue on what to do since he got injured. At any other club I do think he would have been sacked already.I like Mowbray and think he has done some good things for the club but we need someone in who can improve players with their coaching, who is better in the transfer market and who doesn't have to tinker every single match -
The same place as your evidence that the manager is being told who he can and can't buy. It's been highly speculated that we paid a 1 million fee and we would have had to pay something or do you think City just gave him us for nothing?
-
I don't agree with this.In this game money talks,if our owners promised a prospective new manager the same financial backing as Mowbray has had and a lucrative wage I think there would be a long list of managers who would come here
-
One more point if the owners are indeed blocking Mowbray from spending on the defence then it seem's very odd that they would sanction a 1 million loan fee and whatever percentage we have to pay toward Tosin's wage
