  1. Pretty much agree with what your saying. If we are to believe what Rich Sharpe is saying then it will be two perm and two loan, presumably the city player will be one loan so it only leaves another space.Id be a bit disappointed if the loan from City was Nmencha but happier if its Harrison. Window closes two weeks on Thursday, 9th of August
  2. Why are you surprised we have not got any of them?Maybe Mowbray just doesn't fancy them or he has other players in mind. I'm of the belief he does have money to spend but we are just finding it hard to do deals. I actually find it encouraging that we haven't dipped into the loan or free transfer market yet as like you say some of the players you mentioned are relatively cheap.Would have been all over the wildschut signing tho
  3. Only when it's bad news..When it's potentially good news he will be back to being full of shite again
  4. We have not been directly linked with Nmecha by anyone? I would be hoping Harrison is the one being targetted
  5. Then why does Mowbray keep saying he is relaxed and happy with the budget? If there wasn't any money then I think he would just say it not lead the fans on by talking about having a number of plates spinning etc. It's quite clear they are finding it hard to close deals and that we don't have a massive budget but we all knew that was likely to be the case. Although I would have liked wildschut and possibly McGoldrick on a one year deal I take the fact that we haven't dipped into the free transfer market or loan market yet as a clue that there is some money to spend. Alan Nixon has as much a clue ad the rest of us as to what's going on behind the scenes
  6. Ah come off it lad,Billy Sharp would be a terrific signing for a league one but not for a championship side with any ambition.
  7. McGoldrick signed for Sheffield United 1 year deal
  8. I seen a tweet where someone said they heard on Radio Southampton that we are signing someone on loan from them. The person who tweeted said they didn't catch the name but presumably if it us true then it could be Gallagher
  9. Defoe went to league one and Abraham had been involved with Chelsea and England under 21s. I'm not saying Nmencha would be a bad signing but apart from YouTube clips of him playing against kids his own age I haven't seen that much of him.Have You? Have seen a bit of Harrison though. 21 years old,did well enough in the mls for City to pay out 4.5 million for him and he had a spell at Boro last season. The championship and senior football are not alien to him like they are to Nmenchca so I would prefer if it was Harrison out of those two
  10. I'm not talking about Foden I was on about Nmecha
  11. What I meant was making one of our attacking signings a nineteen year old with no first team experience compared to say Harrison who is 21,has played in the mls and had a loan spell at Boro last season
  12. Looks exceptional in his YouTube vids but most the clips are against other youth teams. Clearly talented but would be a gamble with little or none first team experience
  13. I'd be surprised if it's Foden. My money is still on Harrison he fits what we are looking for more than Foden
  14. Thanks mate.Id searched the lancs telegraph website for Mowbray's comment to no avail. Bit of a silly comment by Waggot was never going to be easy getting players in pre Austria
  15. I'd love to see Maddison come in although I'm surprised that with a relatively cheap release clause he hasn't been snapped up yet. If it's true that it's a fight between ourselves and Rotheram then you have to wonder why other teams ain't in for him. I can't proclaim to have watched him many times over 90 minutes but maybe he has problems in his game that we don't see in the YouTube highlights reel. Just find it a bit odd he hasn't been signed by someone yet at that price
  16. Not saying it didn't happen but where did Mowbray actually say he wanted hid buisness done before they went to Austria? I read near every article and listen to near every Mowbray radio/tv interview and I honestly don't remember him saying that. Is there a link or anything so I can see what he actually said?
  17. If we are to believe that it's 2 to sign permanently and 2 to sign on loan then 16 days to sign 2 and then another few weeks for the loan window to close. We need to be getting a couple of attacking players in before we kick off v Ipswich. Ipswich away and Millwall at home are 2 very winnable games, but with Graham already struggling with injury then we really are looking like powder puff as an attacking threat at the moment
  18. They sold a centre half to Bristol City for 5 million. Also speculation that Waghorn will be off for another reported 5 million.
  19. I'd like Armstrong but only if the fee and his wages are reasonable. 2-3 million would be reasonable in today's market but wouldn't be bringing him in if his wages are anywhere close to 20k a week and he expected that here. Did well for us last season but in his previous loan spells in the championship he struggled and was inconsistent. Things didn't work out at all last season at Bolton for him and at Barnsley he had some good games but was inconsistent. Maybe Mowbray is the man to get the best out of him but if we don't have much to spend then I'd favour a loan move for Armstrong over a permanent deal
  20. Have you had any other texts from your pal who said about Kent and a striker signing? IS he usually reliable or was he just winding you up?
  21. Maybe Mowbray was impressed with Whartons development under the Cowley brother's and Wharton enjoyed his spell with them. I get what your saying about league one but still him being loaned out is best for everyone at this point.
  22. He wouldn't have been given a 3 year contract last week if that was the case. What's better for him and us long term , him sat on the bench here occasionally filling in when Lenihan,Mulgrew,Williams and probably Downing are unavailable. He will play every week for Lincoln it's a good move for all concerned
  23. Are we close to signing anyone?
  24. You must be getting a bit anxious now over the lack of activity.?I was relaxed but it's dragging on now, players are moving ,players who would most likely be within our budget and we arnt seeing anyone even being linked.I would have definitely been happy to see Wildschut here good signing for Bolton. If it was true that Mowbray wanted Kent then it doesn't bode well losing out to Rangers. We have a decent enough run of fixtures to begin with but with the lack of signings and with the season less than two weeks away we are leaving hardly anytime for them to settle in,would have been good to hit the ground running not gonna happen if we are bargains buying last day of window
  25. Good player but he spends a lot of his time out injured. Will probably be on big enough money aswell
