  1. Sky reporting West Ham and Palace in talks with Burnley over a deal for McNeil
  2. Where are you and Jim getting these stats from?
  3. Brother in law a Barnsley fan so yeah seen quite a bit of them , Iv been with him to 5 games live over the last couple of seasons and make a point of watching them on the box. Yeah he is decent defensively but offensively he will be an upgrade on Nyambe. His assist record nothing spectacular but he gets involved and has had plenty of goal involvements. Iv said already I liked Nyambe and was disappointed to lose him but if we are moving to a more possession type style that JDT has hinted at then Brittain would be more suitable than Nyambe.Technically he is decent,he can keep the ball moving and he is good taking players on. If the fee is £1.5 million as suggested then I think it's an extremely good deal. Also think more money will be spent
  4. Are you sure you ain't talking about Styles?Brittain roams a bit but I wouldn't say too drastic. Styles Is the one id really love
  5. Seen him a number of times and imo better all round player than Nyambe altho 1 v 1 Nyambe wins. If the deal happens the most pleasing aspect will be us paying a transfer fee as many on here thought it would be loans only.Would'nt you agree?
  6. All 3 played a big role in getting Barnsley into the top 6 the previous season something Lenihen, Nyambe and Rothwell couldn't manage in their time here. All 3 would be excellent signings especially Styles
  7. Brittain would be an excellent addition and a very good replacement for Nyambe
  8. Hope we would be looking at better than him
  9. Or his agent thought it wasn't good enough and expected more interest.Newly promoted Wigan won't be blowing whatever offer we made out the water
  10. Look I think we have uninterested and poor owners who have never put a proper structure in place here. I disagree with others that they never open the purse strings and give money to strengthen the squad.Up untill the pandemic Mowbray was being well backed and even in the first season with no crowds 11 players came through the door.I do actually believe we have a bit of money this summer but of course if it turns out we don't il accept iv been naive and stupid. On your point on the wages for academy graduates maybe you are correct but I would say Travis put pen to paper committing himself to the club for another 4 years.Going to be captain this year and has been a regular for years and he accepted an 8k per week wage?
  11. People can piss on it all they want and not believe it but Darragh Lenihen did say he was offered 22k per week. As it stands it is pure speculation either way until we get some players in.I don't think we would have been talking to Liverpool about Davies if we were only paying £8k per week. Before you say it I know we didn't sign him but that is no proof we can't offer more than 8k.According to Broughton same wage budget as last season what did we lose from it?Roughly 50k so worst case we still have those wages to bring a couple in
  12. Did we not spend heavily to get promoted from league one? Did we not spend a reasonable amount upon promotion back to this division? Wigan haven't signed Nyambe. They haven't signed any senior player. If they do sign Nyambe then it's a good signing but it does not prove as fact that they are more ambitious than us. Same with Derby you made a statement that they are paying more money than us, those are your thoughts they certainly ain't facts when Derby can only pay a max of 8k per week
  13. We have seen him with our own eyes, iv said I would have liked him to stay but at the same time him going to Wigan is no proof that they are more ambitious than us or that we can't compete with them financially I do think he is overrated on here though, yeah is good but like you say he has been on "wanky terms for years and yet the best move he can get is Wigan (if it goes through) he obviously isn't as highly rated within the game
  14. Il wait until the window is shut and I see who we have brought In before I start with talk that Wigan and Derby are more ambitious than us. Again I don't believe we put a contract offer to Hourihane and even if we did Derby can pay a max of 8k per week and Hourihane if he did have championship offers it says more about hus confidence of getting enough game time at this level rather than Derby's ambitions. Again on Nyambe that depends, he can't be the fecking good if he has such reasonable wage demands but has chosen to go to Wigan.
  15. I like Nyambe.I would have wanted to keep him.But if he does join Wigan it doesn't mean we can't compete financially with Wigan, it will mean we chose not too.As already stated we have a higher wage bill(which Broughton said was the same as last season) and we pay our higher earners more than they do. JhRover posted that within the football community Wigan are seen as a better run club and a better option than us.They haven't signed a senior player either yet and are just promoted from league 1 , last 2 months late with wages and have a squad made up of league one players.
  16. Exactly but don't tell JHRover this Wigan are a much better run club than us and we can't compete financially with them
  17. Derby are offering more money than us?How do you know this?Funny because they can only pay new players a max of £8k per week? What you Think and what is fact are 2 different things. On Nyambe, firstly no move to Wigan has been completed, secondly if going there it shows his demands ain't extortionate but at the same time, if he has the quality that is suggested then why is he going to a newly promoted club, suggests to me bigger clubs weren't interested enough to sign him
  18. Well if he is as good as we think and his wages are as reasonable as suggested then why is he signing for Wigan? Surely with such reasonable wage demands and him being one of the best right backs in the league as some on here suggest then surely bigger clubs than a newly promoted Wigan would be offering him deals?
  19. Wigan haven't signed anybody yet apart from untested young players Brennan being one of them from us who we declined to offer a new contract. When we got promoted from league one we spent considerably more than they have done. It wasn't too long ago you were wishing we were like Derby
  20. That's exactly what I said in the post you quoted il wait and see who we sign before I criticize. It may have only been speculation that we were in for Anel and Davies but one would expect them to have some sort of idea what sort of money they would be looking for especially with JDT having been at Malmö previously if they did talk. I have no idea what budget we have, it may be healthy it may be shit. You saying we can't compete with Wigan is at the moment speculation
  21. Wigan were Il wait and see who we actually bring in first before I criticize the decision not to give him what he wanted.I do rate him and wanted him to stay but there are players that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg that could replace him We have the same wage budget as last season and lost 50k roughly from the bill last season.I don't think we have a mega budget but IF we even entered discussions for Davies or Anel then must be something in the pot
  22. Or the people at the club don't believe Nyambe is worth what he wants.Pretty sure we have a higher wage bill than Wigan and we pay our highest earners mor than they do
  23. Nixon saying Wigan one of the clubs in for Nyambe
