  1. He hasnt played a premier league game yet so can't really say that's his level. And he is on a low wage 4.5 k per week
  2. Not really apart from a 6 month spell at West ham (who were playing exceptional at the time)he hasnt done much in the last 3 year. The likelihood is Forest will have a lot of games with their backs to the wall and will be one of the teams toward the bottom like most promoted sides. Does Lingard have the stomach for a struggle near the bottom? Not so sure myselt.Time will tell I suppose
  3. How can you be so sure?1 year left on his deal.Webber and Dunk have 2 of the 3 spots at the back. They were in for Bassey who went to Ajax for £22 million so are in the market for a centre half and have Veltman and Duffy there aswell. Another one of their young centre backs who had been around the block on loan was sold to Napoli for £4.2 million this summer as he asked to leave due to a lack of chances in the first team. Van Hecke will want to be playing every week not a bit part role, his wages are apparently 4k per week. It's a long shot but I wouldn't say no chance of it happening,he loved his time here and no prem club is buying him and starting him at this point
  4. Still on 115k per week basic though which is ridiculous in itself
  5. Styles price will be dictated by the level of interest in him.If we are the only show in town putting the bids in then we should get a good deal but if the reports are true that Ismael is keen on him joining Besiktas then it could be tough going and his fee and wages may be too much for us . I'm no Nickoteen and think he is arrogant but to be fair to him he has got quite a few deals right across the football league this summer. Even ourselves he was the first in the media to report our interest in Davies and Anel. And he was the first the other day to break the Brittain story. From what I can see Sharpe and the lancs live fella are getting their stories from his Twitter feed
  6. Nixon reckons we are after 2 centre backs
  7. Hopefully get the deal done before Ismael at Besiktas decides he wants to work with him again
  8. If no reasonable offers then we can't sell him just yet can we? We need to hold tough and try get as much as we possibly can for him. If he starts the season with us so be it, a team or teams will panic as deadline draws closer and are likely to pay more, especially if he begins the season in goalscoring form with us. The club do need to be sounding out possible replacements etc tho
  9. Yeah but was hoping we would be moving away from taking this type of player on loan a kid with minimal experience. According to Nixon our competition was Oxford who had a chance at the deal due to being able to promise minutes. I hope we haven't given a guarantee over a certain amount of gametime but we will have
  10. If Morton is coming in I hope a league one loan Is sorted for Garrett. Shouldn't be playing u-23 this season
  11. Rich Sharpe's view. The club won't have told him the exact number of players we will bring in or position and he did say the club will at "least" replace the players from the starting line up last season The season Barnsley finished 5th Styles played LWB the majority of that season,I wouldn't think Morton being brought in would hinder a move for styles if it Is happening
  12. Styles can play all over he isn't predominantly a centre mid. Although iv only seen Morton a cpl of times himself and Styles are chalk n cheese.Totally different type of player
  13. Styles could be seen as LWB. I hope it isn't true about Morton looks a good prospect but we have our own academy lads to give minutes too and no doubt Liverpool will want Morton playing and if playing with a midfield 2 then it will be Buckley and Travis starting
  14. Pete O'Rourke saying Dwight Gayle signing for Stoke on a 2 year deal
  15. 32 starts out of 46 last season and 28 starts the year before Good player no question but a player on the decline and would be looking for good money these type of signings Graham and a couple of other aside generally don't work out for us and we get burnt paying too much of a wage. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in the states or middle Eastern club
  16. Top man.Efforts appreciated
  17. It isn't a strawman argument we are a championship side who have to work under Ffp constraints without the external income of some of our competitors. If a £750k player is better than a £1.5 million player then surely you just buy the £750k player.A league one player with no experience above that Level will 9 times out of 10 be less expensive than one who has the experience. It isn't rocket science the further you stretch you budget then logically the quality of the individual will go down. Our focus should be on quality not numbers if we are only going with 2 in midfield then why do you need 4 of similar quality, experience and wage?Surely it is better to have 3 of better quality and then a young player who the club feel can do the buisness getting the opportunity if one comes along through injury or suspension or as a sub. We have done what you want us to do for years in the championship carry to many passengers on decent money. Why pay decent money for a 4th choice midfielder who will only get minutes when the other are unavailable when Garrett can do that job for £1500 a week?
  18. Yeah but we have a budget I'd rather 1 decent addition like a styles instead of 2 mediocre/poor signings. It's not an insult ,it's a fact the management see them daily and may feel 1 or 2 of them can play a part and don't need to bring in the numbers you or I feel we need as they have more insight and expertise than we do. We wouldn't be the only club in the country not buying a senior player for a certain position as the club feels a player is ready to step up and play senior football.
  19. Or the management who see them every day feel Garrett or Wharton can play a part. Sharpe is guessing what we are looking for there anyway.
  20. I'd presume the fact Brittain has spent the last two seasons in the Championship one extremely good season the other poor whilst the other 2 had never done it at this level
  21. Good stuff Glen.Much appreciated On this funding under special circumstances one wonders why this wasn't sought last January when we were sat second in the table a bit of money spent on 1 or 2 bits of quality and promotion could have been achievable
  22. Presume Davies with his wages and fee Could have been Cantwell?
  23. Deadline day should be before the season starts. Looking likely he will start the season with us but still think some team will panic and match the asking price, especially if he starts the season in goalscoring form. As deadline draws closer there will be someone in the Prem desperate for a forward and to a lot of those teams 15/20 million is nothing. I won't hold my breath but a club that is well run would have already agreed on a percentage of any sale that could be used for a replacement and clubs sounded out showing interest and discussing possible fee etc.Hopefully now Broughton here the club has a plan and the owners will let that plan be put into action Think it will have to be at least £15 million before Venkys will do a deal.If we are only recieving offers 10...11..12.. mill I don't think they will sell him
