  1. If I don’t want to go...? You are spectacularly missing the point.
  2. Happy to pay £3 for audio only? Radio used to be part of the TV licence! ”Pandering to fans” (aka imaginative ways of bringing them back). You and Waggott would get on very well indeed. Nice sidestep on the hypocrisy part though.
  3. It’s not free on Sky you know so there is no “entitlement” but there is certainly an expectation. If I was away with work, I’d expect to be able to watch it. It’s barely on the radio now and can’t be listened to online without paying £3. Yes, we all want fans at the ground, like you and I, but trying to force fans to go will not work. Especially Blackburners. Waggott really has no clue about his customer-base. This kind of stunt proves it. But the hypocrisy is palpable when the club is more than happy to move games to unsociable times just to make money out of TV so they shouldn’t be able to have it both ways.
  4. Our gates went over a cliff long before the red button was introduced. You can thank Venkys and two relegations for that. But we both know I was talking about the decision to not show tomorrow’s game.
  5. It will make no meaningful difference to the gate and will cost the club money. No reduction in ticket prices either for a bang average midtable, midweek, midwinter fixture. Apart from that, great news.
  6. Apart from the play-off part...
  7. And maybe Davenport but not sure he qualifies as big. If we are boracic then we absolutely have to try to move on Mulgrew, Smallwood and Samuel - and loan out Brereton. Four players who we wouldn’t miss and/or could probably cover out of the U23s.
  8. They won’t like it, and they still think they have been hard done to but for the rest of the EFL, Bolton being relegated again is probably what needed/needs to happen. And still it does not bode well for Rovers because we have them or Bury as precedents...
  9. Does anyone know what his philosophy is? The only consistent thing I’ve seen is a diagonal ball from full back to opposite wing - which rarely has any end product.
  10. That really brings it home.
  11. “It’s only Nixon” but it sounds about right for TM: set out targets, do nothing for three weeks, make a late move, complain that they cost too much, fans blame greedy mercenary players, “keep our powder dry” for the Summer when there’s “better value”. Rinse/repeat.
  12. How is that any kind of defence of our lack of activity? It’s really simple: do we need players? Yes! We’ve all identified our weaknesses. Last year, a good January convinced Mowbray that we could let P Downing go and not bring in anyone to improve us. We all said what would happen - and it did. It seems, this season, a 5-0 win is just as good a reason. Round and round we go...
  13. At least Christmas will feel more like Christmas (weather-wise). Welcome back!
  14. Not under Mowbray. (IMHO)
  15. And now they’re trying to defend Ince!?!? Wow ?
  16. A drug addict originally had a choice. We are the victim of a car crash and now being kept on life support, funded by the rich driver’s credit card.
  17. Stop being silly. I know you’re not that naive!
  18. Not bizarre when he was dumped by Coyle and then had to make a decision about whether to work with the wingless wonder. He made the right choice as he’d have been wasted here.
  19. Let’s not turn this into supporter bashing. I’m saying that the pride and respect for the town itself is far lower. Jack’s children didn’t have any affinity. Venkys don’t have any affinity. But compared to say 20 years ago people just don’t have that pride any more. Go onto the LT site or their Fb page or any non-football Blackburn page. “It’s a shithole”; “what do you expect in Blackburn”; “glad I left that dump years ago”. We actually have a great town and one that is trying to regenerate against a backdrop of a huge cultural chasm, I just wish people believed it a bit more - perception is reality. The club used to represent that pride outwardly to the rest of the country. The way that was thrown away and then trashed was like having our heart ripped out.
  20. Fewer. This means less than previously. This is not nonsense but a sad reality.
  21. Maybe our marketing team can put together a montage of Brereton’s best moments!
  22. Jack actually felt something for the club, the town, the people. Sadly, fewer and fewer people do these days.
  23. Don’t get me wrong, looks very tidy but we were 4-0 up against a thoroughly demoralised 10 men. I’d certainly want to see more of him though. Hopefully we are beginning to see the fruits of Johnson’s time developing these lads and his influence now that he is in the first team set up.
  24. The didn’t want the debt, the running costs and “hassle” of unearthing the next Phil Jones would be my guess.
