  1. Hope you're right. The only thing I want from Rovers is that they win.
  2. A couple of wins in the league and we can start to breathe more easily. A couple of defeats though... February's schedule: Boro (A) Hull (H) Fulham (H) Ipswich (A) Derby (A) MK Dons (H) Our new recruits need to gel quickly and prove that today wasn't a one-off against lower league opposition.
  3. That was a really poor but if editing. I guess you have to pay FIFA to watch any proper footage!Wendell Lira won it. Was ok.
  4. Ridded the club of the leeches.Signed the striker who saved us from League One. Even if it were true, it's at most third.
  5. I'd have him back tomorrow.
  6. All this bitching about Star Wars being a remake is starting to grate. A bit of excitement and hype and everyone thinks they're Barry Norman. I thought it was a fantastic, true to the original trilogy, and a very fitting way to hand over the franchise to the next generation. If you want something to bellyache over go and watch Episode 1.
  7. Could still do a job in the Championship but he may have lost his motivation. He and Rhodes were just beginning to look like a partnership when he went.
  8. Agreed, Koita isn't what we need to support Rhodes and thrive from the space he creates for others in the box.Maybe he still has friends in high places at Villa and can loan the big man back.
  9. Some very well articulated posts from Mattyblue on the Lowe debate.
  10. Legend has it that it was scuppered by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud.
  11. Something triggered a sequence of events that ended with Kean leaving. I believe that was the fans.Finding excuses is just further evidence of lack of willingness. Anyway, we are winning drawing now do those fickle fans who work from game to game will now be calling for him to have more time. 1 win in 6 7 is all that is required.
  12. The fans are able. Not enough are willing, for a variety of different reasons.
  13. Timing is everything though. As a club, as a town, we dropped out of the PL at exactly the wrong time. With astute management and board decision making, given the foundations we already had in place, we could had secured our future for a generation. We could we drop down into the third tier at exactly the wrong time too. Those clubs you mention did not have the fundamental issue of FFP - although in Man City's case they have always had a considerable fan base. They were able to rebuild and bring in money people. Rovers on the other hand could well be without a chair when the music stops. But the other side to this is, at what point does this re-think take place? And will there be as many options as there are now? As there were at the end of last season? Or at the end of Bowyer's mission to stabilise? Ignorance has defected the owners' judgement (being kind) and sentiment and fear has clouded the fans' judgement (to this point). Worse still, what if Bowyer draws the next two games or draws one and wins one? The 're-think'-ometer will be reset and the game will start again.
  14. Surely you don't want us back there. We are currently on the trajectory that we were on before Jack saved us. We need a similar saviour now. FFP has dictated that it can't be a new owner's money so our only option is to try to stop the malaise that has set in by bringing in fresh ideas. If Bowyer is recruiting and picking the team then it must be him. If it isn't him then he should walk because it's his reputation that's at stake, and he is meant to be a dignified chap. But I do have a beef with these people who say 'ah well, I've seen us in the third tier and I'm prepared to do it again'. This is defeatist and is taking to a place WORSE than last time. It's like jumping out of a plane without a parachute! If Jack had done what Venkys are doing we may not even have a club now, let alone 20,000 plus Rovers fans in their 30s (absent or otherwise).
  15. The trouble is that the local derbies are quickly becoming the only thing to play for this season.
  16. I am genuinely DREADING playing Bumley this season - and very concerned about the nobbers.
  17. We seriously need to get a result against the odds - and against the form book - if we are going to recover the situation. It's all well and good saying "ah well, it was such and such, no disgrace" but we are playing catch up. Time and again struggling teams who have anything about them will get a result as the underdog. You just don't see Bowyer's Rovers doing that. At what point along the relegation battle do we say it's time for change? How many points adrift of safety? How many games to go?
  18. Relegation does not convince Venkys to change managers let alone the threat of relegation. I wonder where Rovers will be when they finally @#/? off.
  19. Rovers have won more trophies than the majority of teams in this country. And that's just in my lifetime. But I take your point.
  20. It absolutely wasn't the right decision. But it was made worse by being followed by dozens and dozens of wrong decisions. With Allarrdyce and Williams went the last of our credibility.
  21. I wanted Bowyer replaced to enable us to be more successful with the players we had. The longer this goes on I'm wanting Bowyer replaced to avoid being relegated. If the new target is the lower expectations level of survival then it simply gives him more time. People have long thought that with enough resources/transfer windows/right good goes he could have made the play-offs but people now believe he has enough about him to avoid relegation. What if he hasn't? On current form, he hasn't. Having seen the next 8 or 9 fixtures I'm worried that we will be entrenched in the bottom 3 when he is finally removed - if at all. Then we will need a different kind of manager and not the kind any of us want. What's Dave Bassett doing these days?
  22. There's a lot of bravado at the moment but I'm genuinely worried about or chances of relegation under Gaz. The idea that we'll be worse off if Bowyer goes is ridiculous if he's already taking us down.
  23. Yep. I assumed it was just a reminder that they are still about. That flippin' Swiss rambles article was in it though.
