Fine. But a complete managerial fraud?
-
My personal feelings rank alongside you saying Gav has imaginary friends? Come on, out with it. Who are you really? Your original poster name will do.
-
Is this your spoof/WUM account? What's your original poster name?
-
Unbelievable.
-
What gives you the impression that we will make decent signings? If by decent, I assume you mean better than we currently have...
-
So Lambert isn't a manager but Bowyer was? Your forgiveness of all things Bowyer did (and didn't do), and the extent you will rubbish proven managers to make your point, is bordering on belligerence.
-
Is that a request or a fact?
-
He makes for a good listen. A certain wizened yet boyish exuberance for the game. He certainly doesn't grate when you hear his voice like Coyle did. A little Bobby Robson-esque if I dare say (probably unfair to say "poor man's..."). I picked several things he said that made me think his mind is already on next season and he is getting his excuses in early if we don't stay up this season. Certainly sounded like he has written off Friday night as a bonus. Hope I'm wrong because I think it's a massive 6-pointer and there can be no excuses. Knowing Venkys, he will be sacked if/when relegation is confirmed. Without Venkys and in League One, yes, is probably trust this set up (Senior aside who I don't trust at all, although getting Coyle out suggests maybe a less dysfunctional approach to footballing matters) to rebuild. As it is with, 6 or 7 cup finals and the rest we must take points from, well I don't feel physically sick anymore and have got over the shock a little, but I remain less than optimistic and more comfortable (if that's the right word) that we may have a chance to do a Wigan next season and get out of League One - the right end.

Which division?

Ok, I apologise for the insult. However, I'm not wrong about the initial fan backing that Kean and Coyle got. For all of the noise on here - and yes Coyle was hated on here from day one by many - there was no such reaction at Ewood. Fact. To say that we should just support any manager is not right. DE made a great point on another thread. Lambert was almost universally welcomed on here as well as Ewood. There was a real feelgood factor for a short time. The concern was, were Venkys really going to make a go of it - like the appointment suggested? The answer: a resounding and unsurprising NO.
-
Do you struggle reading? Or just have a bad memory? How long before there were Kean Out or Coyle Out chants on a match day?
-
Protest haven't lost us games. Crap managers have. It's an odd one though. Like a dare to the protesters. Go on then, I dare you to chant Venkys Out in a game. Because as soon as we lose we can blame them for relegation, and take the heat off the awful decision making.
-
Are you playing both sides of the argument or what? Pretty sure you need a Twitter account for that.
-
Yes, you're right. Let's hold off any anti-Venkys noises and get behind the lads (FFS). Every manager that has come in has been backed by the fans in the first instance. Every single one. And yet they have all been garbage. So let's not be lining up the 'blame the fans' argument just yet. It's like deja vu all over again. Maybe this guy will be The One and we'll stay up and become solid mid-table next season. But with no squad in May, it's going to need Senior and Mowbray to have some major pulling power - unless Venkys suddenly start chucking more money debt at things. A manager of pedigree and on the up would have had better options. The fact that they haven't gone for such a manager is a big clue that Venkys still have no intention of turning the page so we must expect worse players again in the Summer. It's not just Mowbray but what him as 'the new outstanding candidate' says about our future. Very much chicken and egg. It's getting to the point where people are so desperate to be seen as being positive or fair minded or something that they champion whatever is thrown at us, again and again and again. Whereas learning from experience is seen as some kind of Philistine attitude.
-
You bouncing, Tom? I'm not. Not sure the players will be. Let's hope his training methods are inspirational. People keep saying no manager's would want to come here. Sorry, I just don't believe that. Having been up at Brockhall and seen the coaches in action it would be a privilege for anyone to work there. The issue is paying a credible manager and backing him on the transfer market to be able to bring in his own players.

http://mobile.rovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/tony-mowbray-blackburn-rovers-3589815.aspx I'm just really not feeling it. Lots of old pictures kicking around of a younger Mowbray. The 2017 variant looks 63 not 53. Really need to hope he is up to it. Anyone want a Wurther's Original?

Double post.

I'm utterly sick of "giving people a chance". We should be able to sign a manager who deserves more than just a 'chance' from his club's fans. Mowbray would not have been in the lists of any other Championship club. There is no pride and little in being a Rovers fan any more. We just have to sit down, shut up and accept what we are given. The same names have started already with the exact same rhetoric we've heard time after time after time. We have no choice unless we walk away but to see how he gets on but there is no excitement, no impetus, no feel-good. Just another underwhelming face on a pay day at the tail end of his contract. The shadow of Lambert, the last glimmer of real hope for a better future, will continue to fall over Ewood. If the fans aren't feeling it, how can we expect the 'new manager bounce' from the players? Are they going to be jumping up off the treatment table to get on board the revolution? No. They are going to go: "Mowbray? Meh. Ok then let's see what he has to say". We've got, what, 15 games left and need to hit the ground running and get some early momentum. Right now we are all stood looking at the starting blocks wondering if we brought the right trainers - both literally and figuratively. No chairman No board No manager No captain (worth the name) No leaders anywhere that anyone can really trust and get behind No returning fans - is this going to inspire anyone who turned up for the United game to come back and watch Mowbray's first game? Unlikely. I don't want a good guy who'll do his best. We had that with Bowyer and to an extent with Coyle (albeit more annoyingly). I want a ruthless barsteward who won't pick people just because they are the longest serving or highest paid. Absolutely must pick a leader as captain and ditch Lowe as a utility sub. If he does that on Friday he'll start to earn my respect. Equally, Lowe as captain in the centre of midfield by the next home game and my mind will be all but made up: another stooge. Two targets: first is three points on Friday and second is keeping us up. After that, well, let's just hope there's an 'after that'.
-
I feel physically sick. Goodbye Championship. More preparation for League One. We are still a joke of a club from top to bottom. Makes me wonder if Shearer and co knew that it was Mowbray lined up. Every single decision has been the wrong one. Venkys should be a swear word all of its own. The protests continue.
-
Hard to understand though why Wharton hasn't been promoted to the first team squad - particularly when we have a lack of cover. Is Brown really a better, even cheaper, option?
-
Thanks. I honestly think that Johnson could take over from Coyle right now and would improve things. Hard to know if Venkys will keep funding it. But I've no idea why they would.
-
Does that mean we lost? Another question, in case you know, is this our last season in the PL development league or whatever it's called? Or does it depend on if we stay in the Championship or not? Or purely down to the academy having Level 1 status?

Rovers' mouth piece - the LT

I know two people who read the LT comments under Rovers stories. A genuine know-nowt Rovers "fan" in his 50s who only goes to Ewood when he gets a free ticket and a Bumley fan who likes to wind me up. -
Haha! Yes. A lot of people around us agreed with him. Plenty of Blackburn Harriers talk! There was a bit of an argument just before half time between Mulgrew and Greer and Lowe - they seemed to be giving Lowe a bit of a dressing down. Maybe we've seen the last of him for a bit. At the very least, he needs the arm band removing. He really isn't up to it.
