  1. Between us, Forest and Birmingham it seems to be a race to finish third bottom. Somebody should remind them that fourth bottom is meant to be the aim.
  2. Yup. Definitely in Rovers hands. All we need to do is win all our games.
  3. Yup. Clearly it's in our hands then!!
  4. Did you read the first sentence BDS RV?
  5. If we beat Bristol (47) then we are still a point behind them (46). Rovers max 55. The only teams playing each other are as follows. Looking at those results independently: Burton v Birmingham 1-0 (Burton 48, max 57; Brum 47, max 56) 0-0 (Burton 46, max 55; Brum 48, max 57) 0-1 (Burton 45, max 54; Brum 50, max 59) Birmingham v Bristol 1-0 (Brum 50, max 59; Bristol 47, max 56) 0-0 (Brum 48, max 57; Bristol 48, max 57) 0-1 (Brum 47, max 56; Bristol 50, max 59) We need to be rooting for Birmingham to beat Burton - or we need a couple of snookers. Certainly isn't in our hands as a couple of people have been suggested. Things will be a lot clearer at 5pm Monday.
  6. Just talk me through that again...
  7. Agreed but we would still be below Bristol.
  8. We don't need to worry too much about Wigan. If we catch Bristol then we must have done better than Wigan by default.
  9. It's impossible to argue with people about Lowe's (non) contribution. He has been an ever present during the worst period of the last 7 years. Everything that can been said about him has been said. We are a better side without him playing. It has been proven over and over. Making him captain was the worst decision ever made by one of our worst ever managers. The players have no obvious respect for him on the pitch, he doesn't visibly communicate, he's not a leader of men, he doesn't even lead by example. It's like Ferguson making Phil Neville captain and sticking Keane at CB. The only good thing about Venkys penny pinching is that he will leave - hopefully. I cringe when I think of the players that have been left on the bench through some inexplicable need for him to play. The thought of him signing a new contact and it being announced as great news would kill off any hope I might have left.
  10. Did you go yesterday, Merce? We dominated possession but didn't look in the game at all. I thought with playing Brown, we would be looking to invite Barnsley on to us and then play on the break - hence Mahoney. But two goals in the first 10 minutes and that game plan - if it was - was over. Barnsley could let us have the play and just get players behind the ball. Something they did very well, by the way. Mowbray underestimated how prone Brown was: no legs but no legs around him either. Why was Ward on the bench? If fit, surely he should start in the absence of Mulgrew (our best midfielder) and Lenihan. Also made further mockery of sending Wharton out. Mowbray needs to wield the axe and freshen things up. Sticking with shower from yesterday (Mahoney aside) is sentimental and foolish. If we are going to rely on "young, hungry" players to survive as a club next season then we need that kind of hunger now.
  11. Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray: "It's always been a big job and today's results obviously don't help at all. "If you're looking for a positive and a light at the end of the tunnel, the next two games are against Forest and Bristol City and we have to go and try and take maximum points of course. "It's a time to stick together, it's a time not to pick holes in each other. It's a time to find team spirit that will hopefully get us results." http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39462929?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport This just sounds really really desperate. If we are relying on team spirit to win games then we are really in trouble. Hope it's just the hurt talking and Mowbray has game plans for both Forest and Bristol - or he isn't the guy I thought he was. Worst of all, we are now in a position where we can beat Forest and Bristol and still go down. For me there have been three defining results since Mowbray came in: losing to Burton right at the time he joined (when everyone should have been really up for it); conceding so late on against Preston that a draw felt like a defeat; and yesterday's gutless display when we made Barnsley look so comfortable that despite 60% possession we only managed to create two shots on target. The players looked so resigned that I honestly think we will lose to both Forest and Bristol and be down in 8 days due to our awful GD. I wouldn't be surprised if the dummies then put us into administration and becomd confused when the 15 point deduction is applied next season.
  12. Probably should have started a new thread for the 'irony' but it'll have to do here. Minnesota vs Atlanta currently playing in the snow complete with orange ball. Not something you see much any more.
  13. So you are going to ignore the picture that shows claret and blue close up under the lights and keep posting your version from distance in dim daylight. There's no arguing with that.
  14. So when you said "seven points from nine"...?
  15. Clearly black Tom? One of us needs to go to Specsavers.
  16. I love how the Burton dropped points have now been removed from Mowbray's record. Radio Rovers did the same thing last night. Unbeaten, and 8 from 12, is very decent considering where we were only two weeks ago. It doesn't need turning into 7 from 9 to sound more impressive or "nearly 9 from 9" as was mentioned last night.
  17. So tiegate is finally cleared up and you pretend you are colour blind!
  18. Have I read that correctly...?
  19. Rubbish. That tie is clearly white and gold.
  20. It will end when people stop bringing it up. It happened. It was mentioned. The end.
  21. I take it all back. Amazing accolades. On 1st January, you say? I think they've started award league titles around that date now.
