Really hope we aren't 'this season's Blackpool'. They are doomed.

What makes you so sure?

Really really worried by those fixtures.

I didn't really believe it until you posted that.

We just need to get 50 points on the board as quickly as possible.

Can you name 3?Bolton? Forest? Personally I'm struggling. Too early to say yet but I don't see many quite so dysfunctional,

That's about as depressing a post as you've made, Parson. So you agree that as a club we are going backwards. Where do you think we'll bottom out?Give that the players who aren't performing, like Brown, like Evans, like Lowe, the whole squad really, are all Bowyer's men, why is it that you hold him harmless for taking us here? Think pre-embargo days. Think about the mismanagement - whichever way you look at it - of Best, of King, of Rochina, of Robinson, when we had those tools at our disposal. Players who could have made a difference with the right approach. Why does he not take responsibility, in your view? In my view Bowyer has peaked. He did well in keeping us out of League One as caretaker and did reasonably well the first season. Last season was poor, with the same mistakes being made, and this season looks like it will continue that trend. We will win the odd game here and there, we may go on little unbeaten runs with mainly draws to show for it - if we are lucky. Ultimately we are on a downward curve. There's no shame in it. It happens to all managers at every club. It becomes clear that it's no longer working and they part ways. The club find someone else and the manager - if he has anything about him - does as well. What reason is there to continue to back Bowyer whilst he keeps making mistakes? Actually 'mistakes' is the wrong word. He knows what he is doing. It is considered and it is deliberate but it isn't working and he won't change. So, again, how can we, why should we, accept that? Bear in mind that Bowyer has had backing and infinite patience from the owners since he took over. He has been allowed to turnover the squad - twice! - because that's how they operate. (Other managers must look on, incredulous with envy). He has had backing and support, and patience from Rovers fans - simply because he is not called Steve Kean. I suspect you may not answer me and that you don't feel the need to defend yourself but I'm not sure the purpose of such a post of you don't expect responses. If you do expect responses, why would these be not challenging ones? However, it's important because you will be one of the very last people to give up on Bowyer so it'd be interesting to know how far you will accept Rovers stagnate or even deteriorate under his stewardship. Personally, I've had enough and think it's time for change.

All of the players put their hands up - four players in unison. Players are bad liars and when they all claim simultaneously and independently they are usually telling the truth. The ref knew it wasn't right and had players round him explaining it. At first he half heartedly gave the freekick to us, and then bottled it and walk towards the linesman - who clearly hadn't seen it - and they exchanged a look that said 'I don't know, do you'. He then overruled himself and gave the goal. Gutless. The ref should be censured and the player should be penalised retrospectively. Neither will happen. We have a small time manager who thinks sending DVDs to the league will have an effect on penalties, and they have an experienced, respected manager. If he gets it wrong who will give him the most grief? Whose report card will be the most damning? If ever our transition to small time championship club was cemented it was in that moment. A bit like the Swansea match last season when the thicko commentator said beating Swansea was one of the greatest days in our history.

MLS: I'm just watching New York City (losing at the mo to Montreal Impact). They remind me a lot of Manchester City... ...when they were in League One. Only not as good. -

Not been on ICBINF for a few days. As you were.

I'm not sure you can though. I guess some people will just never get on. The bit I don't get is why both of you don't just use the ignore facility.

Doesn't Abbey continually take the mick out of GAV?

Ironic that people feel so staunchly Lancastrian when it comes to cricket but are mortally offended when it is suggested for football.

Have you seen the goal of the season "contenders" over the last couple of seasons? Great they ain't.I agree with he sentiment though we need to get some kind of feelgood around the current Rovers because showing us the recent history adds to the misery at the current situation and what was thrown away. In all honesty though, I think that a change of manager to someone with charisma and:or pedigree, as well as ability, is what is required. I don't see how Bowyer is going to become that person. Failing that we need a spark on the pitch that can pick up a game by the scruff of it's neck and get the crowd on their feet. Dunny used to be that player, Marshall has the potential to be, but our manager thinks he's better served at right back.

R Hanley, O'SullivanEdwards and O'Connell have left haven't they? Is Tim Payne still with us? Ironically one player did from that match did make a regular starting berth in our first team. Chelsea's Todd Kane...

It's a risky strategy. It could help make them stronger physically and could pay dividends in future. On the other hand, being outfought can be dispiriting and the mental side of the game can become a negative.

Scabby. Southampton really shouldn't be proud of that. In contrast I'm really proud of our young lads this evening. Pushing a very good side laden with PL debutants very close to the wire. Let's hope that some of these lads can push on, and some of them even be given opportunities around the first team. I wonder how we'd have done with O'Sullivan and Lenihan in the side. It'll be a travesty to them, and an insult to the U21s, if we don't see both play some part tomorrow evening.

What is this ref seeing from corners?
