  1. It’ll be the most exciting thing to happen all transfer window.
  2. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2020/august/join-the-revolution-wanderers-reveal-season-ticket-details-for-the-new-season/
  3. HOW MUCH?? ? What a life. Just for being born with a decent left foot and a bit of pace.
  4. We will never have a bold pricing strategy under Waggott. It’s not about getting bums on seats it’s about dividing the number of expected ST holders by the income he needs to achieve on the balance sheet. One day it will blow up in his face. I bet he couldn’t believe his luck when he got the gig here.
  5. I see the best Barcelona player of all time is staying put. Shocker.
  6. Fb groups are even more of an echo chamber than in here. Prices hikes were met with (almost) universal praise on one of the yesterday. The one guy who disagreed was quickly put back in his box. It’s always the same when the logical arguments fail. If you are a real fan you will do as you are told.
  7. More propaganda. It’s not about straplines it’s about how they treat fans. By putting theirs on sale they have had a revenue stream for months. We have had zero. People aren’t stupid and they didn’t treat them as such. They had the option to buy knowing the uncertainties around attending. Now they are treating their fans fairly and with respect. They will get loyalty in spades. Meanwhile we talk about loyalty while treating fans like monopolised customers. Would Waggott have offered what Bristol now have? Well considering we were one of a very small number of clubs not offering a refund last season, one would have to say no. It seems you will back whatever they do. Just like many many other short term posters we have had on this site in the last 10 years. The current plan is indefensible. Emotional blackmail and turning fans against each other. It had been a tactic used ever since Kean replaced Allardyce.
  8. If they don’t allow people from half of Blackburn to go to Ewood Park (an outdoor venue) but people can still shop in the Mall then I think that is the club pretty much done.
  9. And yet Bristol City don’t see this as a problem and will almost certainly get 100% renewals with every one of them paying for every game they can attend and streaming the rest. And yes, this is personal. It’s my club, in my town and some wide boy is talking about loyalty as a reason we should pay the pro rata increase for the maximum season tickets he can sell. Lest we forget, this is the same guy who sanctioned a £10k lottery if they sold 10,000 STs (starting at 8,600) - and failed!
  10. Take a look at what Bristol City are doing. Not only do we not have them on sale but there is no imagination about how to get people to buy apart from implying “you aren’t a fan if you don’t agree with everything we do”. Len hit the nail on the head when he said there just isn’t the trust. That’s because of the contradiction that comes with giving Hart and Smallwood a month extra salary each for doing nothing, and now expecting long-suffering fans to cover the losses that such a move created. Same as throwing £12m at two duds and then blaming FFP for not being able to but players we need! Suck it up or you’re not a real fan!!
  11. The thing with Dack is that we either need promotion or to cash in on him. Otherwise he’s just a show pony with a “famous” girlfriend that we had for a bit.
  12. Won’t happen. He wants your money for the empty seat AND their money for theirs. And they all need to buy a shirt each. And a pie. And a raffle ticket.
  13. That is how you work with fans. This just proves it’s him and not us. An offer like that would be received extremely well with people prepared to put their money in. Instead we are called negative by fan representatives for not being happy at being shafted. 2020 is the shittest year ever.
  14. I’ve never been so disillusioned at the idea of buying a ST. Even when Kean was here I was determined to outlast him. I won’t get to keep my seat I’ve no idea if iFollow will be available while the ground is closed I’ve no idea if/when I will be able to attend I’ve no idea which stand I’ll end up in I don’t know if I will be able to sit near my usual group I do know that the price will go up I know that my support isn’t valued beyond the balance sheet (I’m being asked to by a shit football shirt if I can) The stadium and surrounding area is being left to rot I’m expected to be grateful to Venkys for paying 20% of minimum wage salaries The communication has been so poor as to be insulting The actual match experience will be shit We haven’t recruited well and are lucky to have a goalkeeper We have a manager I have no faith in and a chief exec I have no respect for We have owners who are keeping this whole miserable charade going with no end in sight The reward, promotion, is both unlikely and wouldn’t necessarily mean that anything changes (apart from more defeats) I am being told that I have to put my money in for the good of the club but I don’t even feel part of one Can someone sell me the pros?
  15. If we have to activate that clause then he is leaving for free the Summer after.
  16. Agreed. We keep being told that without Venkys this club would fold. Without a new owner that is certainly true. We are also told that Venkys will continue to fund the club (for reasons they keep to themselves). But this means that the fans money isn’t important. Every £1 put in by fans is simply £1 less that Venkys have to. It doesn’t keep the club going, or the lights on, or the pitch and stadium/grounds in good nick (instead of the appalling condition it has been allowed to get into). It goes into the pockets of the very people who tell us to ‘be committed’ and ‘stick together’ by virtue of the out-of-step wages they draw. His barb about the ‘competitive’ ticket pricing is, in my view, a little cheeky nod to him being paid a ‘competitive’ salary. The reality is there is a price point for clubs in deprived areas and that is why, one-by-one, they are going to the wall or relegated or both. Thanks to people who don’t care about the town or it’s people unless it’s to spend money. We are being extorted so that the gravy train can roll on. Price hikes at this moment in time are a kick in the teeth for fans who have, in Waggott’s own words, been loyal. This is how that loyalty is repaid. It completely fits the modus operandi of every off-field decision at the club since Waggott arrived. Spend peanuts and get as much money as you can out of the most loyal fans. Why? Because the most loyal fans will allow them to, and will turn on any fans who won’t as not being loyal (at least not as loyal as they are). I’m very concerned that this club may well die on Waggott’s watch and leave us all with nothing but intra-fan resentment. We need an board who can build a strong relationship with fans and who work with them. This doesn’t need money, it needs the right attitude and some hard work. After sticking it out through the 10 years of Venkys misrule I now feel like an emotionally-blackmailed benefactor rather than a valued supporter.
  17. Waggott showing exactly how out of touch he is with the fanbase... ”we are aware of the hardships the pandemic has brought to people and families” so... “upward adjustment to the prices of other Season Ticket holders” And then has the brass neck to say... ”WE ARE TOGETHER” Notwithstanding the absolute and utter contempt you view fans with, Steve, to square the circle, please do let us know the pay cut you will be taking “during this incredibly challenging and unprecedented period”. P.S. I also assume that with your beloved owners “enabling us to pay all our staff” this means you can confirm that no furlough money was taken from us tax payers?
  18. Sounds like the copy was already written for Kipre and they just copied and pasted the change of player and club! Keep U23 signings to a three line box on the inside back page and ask proper questions!
  19. Just shows how desperate we are for reinforcements. I’d feel quite a lot better with a centre back in, and ideally a left back. Is Kipre this season’s Bauer? All our eggs in one reluctant basket followed by a late loan?
  20. Observations of what has happened and the consequences for different characters demonstrating contrasting behaviours. There are several examples, good and bad.
  21. He doesn’t seem to like to be challenged. If you challenge - even just sulking at being dropped - you are history. Being dropped is a test, I think. The right (Mowbray) response is to get your head down, work hard and be patient. No dissent. It’s a noble goal but you end up with a bland cold, samey, bunch who won’t even challenge each other. Not the kind of characters that will turn a game around if you are losing and playing badly. All a bit too nice. Great when things are going well but useless under pressure.
  22. Technically Chapman signed from Boro U23s...
  23. C’mon Matt. You’re talking the club out of a £30 walk-on surcharge.
  24. It’s ironic but I think the most common club for Mowbray signings is Blackburn Rovers U23s. Ironic because when he first came here thought it was a waste of money, and also he isn’t good at developing young players with far more misses than hits. Second is indeed Boro.
