  1. Excellent draw!!! Should act as an added incentive to beat Burnley
  2. This is true! I was there. Debs said she wanted Burnley away whilst everyone else decided that it was a bad idea and a nice easy home draw would be better.
  3. The ticket office have to prioritise people who should or should not get tickets. This is probably quite difficult as they have to define each set of people clearly. They cant really make categories such as 'had a season ticket for over 10 years and been to some away games', 'had a season ticket for 5 years but never been to an away game', 'only had a season ticket this year but been to every game home and away'. So they have to draw a line somewhere. The only way they can really do it is by going on the current season as, in general, people who have been to more games this season are more deserving of a ticket than people who have only been to a couple of games this season.
  4. If I remember correctly, as well as there being an away season ticket scheme, there was also a cup season ticket scheme - although that might have only applied to home games.
  5. I dont really understand how people dont think the system was fair. Last time we was in this situation it was when we played Celtic. That time Rovers put them straight on open sale to season ticket holders and were heavily critisised for it (and rightly so). People who'd been to every away game of the season didn't get them, even some people who had gone all the way to Bulgaria for the previous round didn't get them!! There definately couldn't be a repeat of this, and I think the way they did it this time was fair.
  6. Just got 3 , after being in the queue twice! Bloody phone signals!
  7. We reckon that because Tyler is leaving in the summer/next summer, he has been demoted to Saturday afternoon games rather than getting the big Sunday 4pm and midweek games. Ian Darke seems to have reappeared. Not that it mattered in our local pub where we watched it on some dodgy Arabic channel 'Barasha' or something. I thought it was a good game - pity about them winning!
  8. Well I'm assuming it's because Mastercard sponsor the competition, but still it seems a bit unfair. There is one other way to pay. You can do it by bank transfer if you happen to have a German bank account
  9. Aye! I went to the bank and applied for one on Thursday. I confused the woman in there when I told her that I wasn't short of money but I NEEDED a mastercard. On the bottom of the form she asked me for a reason and it says 'To buy World Cup tickets'
  10. Penalised for intent Oh I'm sure Friedel went in with all intentions of not getting the ball!
  11. On the bench! God knows why because although its not his best position he's a lot better than Matteo at left back.
  12. Whilst I see what you're getting at by making under 8's free, I dont think kid's tickets are a big problem at all. It is actually cheaper now for juniors to have a season ticket than it was 10 years ago. My ticket for 94/95 was £110, and I think my brother payed £75 for his this season. Maybe reduce the age for free tickets to 4 or 5 or similar.
  13. Have you heard David Gold on Sky Sports News, what a tosser!
  14. Pretty much feel as other people have already said. By going back to Rangers shows that he is not up for the challenge in England and has bottled it. Its hardly as if its a Duff situation again is it? We coped perfectly well without him against Pompey, I'm sure we'll manage.
  15. Well according to BBC he's handed in a written transfer request Transfer Request
  16. Well after sitting in some layby for over two hours last night just outside Portsmouth waiting for our bus to be fixed, we finally got home at two this morning. I'm so glad we won or else the 9 hour journey home might have been a bit too much! As for the game. The first half was a bit of a non event. Only a couple of half chances really (well nothing that I can remember) In the second half Rovers were the better team. Defensivly we were solid. I was impressed with Nelson, and Nissa also did an excellent job at left back. The first sending off we didn't see, but after someone in the crowd shouted 'Todd!!! You stupid idiot!' (or words to that effect!) we was expecting Todd to go. But he got nothing and Lua Lua reluctantly left the field. We had a couple of chances before the goal, Pedersen himself thought he'd scored but hit the crossbar. Pedersen's goal was very well taken - almost a carbon copy of his Cardiff goal. I thought Pedersen played better than against Cardiff. He was more involved in the game, and although he has a tendancy to drift upfront it seems he's also been working onthe defensive part of the game. We could have finished the game off, Pedersen and Emerton created chances but Thommo couldn't score the vital second goal. Then the board came up with 6 minutes! We could have really have done without that, (although there had been quite a few stoppages, but thats not the point!). In injury time Faye got sent off. Some man on 606 said that it was a 50-50 challenge, but it wasn't. Friedel already had the ball before Faye jumped in and was rightly sent off. Everyone played well with the exception of Tugay. I thought he had a really poor game. But apart from him, Pedersen is improving and Nelson and Mokoena look like good signings.
  17. According to Sky Sports News, Rangers are not prepared to increase their bid for Ferguson which "is music to John William's ears"! That can only been good news. Im quite looking forward to seeing Ferguson and Savage play in the same midfield. Emerton - Savage - Ferguson - Ried/MGP/Thommo. Looks quite good to me.
  18. Well I phoned up today and was in a queue at half 4 this evening, so people must be phoning up for tickets for something. If you are a young adult/senior, and you want to sit in one of the areas where the adult price is less than the concessionary price, if you just tell the people at the ticket office, they'll just put you though an adult ticket no problem.
  19. Just looking at the Cardiff programme from last week. It seems our game will be cheap in comparison, to their next away league game. Leeds away is £40 for adults, £30 for concessions
  20. Although Rovers have realised that they were gonna face quite a backlash after releasing the ticket prices on Saturday, I cant help but think they've stuck the price chart together in a panic. Some parts of it just dont make sense: Jack Walker Outer Adult - £10, Young Adult/Senior £14
  21. For some fans the FA Cup is more important, at least AS important as the league. However if the team doesn't treat it as importantly, then why should fans be expected to pay the same as for league games?
  22. I've been doing a little bit of maths. Say we get 5,000 people on Ewood for the reply. At most that'll bring us £120,000. If we charged £10 per person we'd have to sell 12,000 tickets to make the same amount of money. With added people, it would bring in extra revenue via refreshments, programmes etc. Im not quiite sure what Rovers are hoping to achieve by charging so much, but I feel they've missed another opportunity to get a few new fans into the ground.
  23. All in all it was a good day out. darwenpete kept us all entertained on the train down by creating his newspaper curtain. You had to see it to believe the genius of the thing! Then met up with more people in the pub before the game. All Cardiff fans seemed pretty accommodating towards us despite the fact we took over their pub! The game wasn't the best. It was pretty scrappy. Rovers were average. Good finish by Pedersen for the goal, but we never really looked very threatening going forward. Mokeana looked pretty good. He's a very defensive minded player and I think he could work well with Ferguson or Tugay, as it would leave them to just attack while he'd take care of the defensive side of things. Matteo on the other hand was rubbish. Bottom of the Championship is probably about his level. In previous games I've thought he was ok, but yesterday he wasn't. From about 10 minutes into the second half I had the feeling that the game would go to a replay. We should be too strong for them at Ewood Park, although by looking at the prices, I'm not too sure how many people will be there to see it!
  24. I'm looking forward to this game now. We're on the 8.33 from Piccadilly with others so it should be a good jhourney down. As for the game I think we're gonna put out a strong squad and should beat Cardiff. I feel more excited about this FA Cup Game than I've felt about the FA Cup for a while. I'll go for 2-0 to Rovers. Dickov pen and new boy Mokena.
