  1. He looked good yesterday as a late-ish impact sub, playing LW/CF, with loads of pace. But his finishing was poor. He is not in their first team and hasn't scored yet this season after 4 appearances. About 25 goals in 150 games. In honesty he looked very fast but not much else. Perhaps something that could be developed but, for me, not a priority for the immediate term.
  2. As well as a clear and obvious desperate need for a new goalkeeper, Poku is a must-sign if he is a genuine option. I'm at Exeter v Pererbrough today and he is a class apart. Quick, skillful, good dangerous crosses and a great corner on him. He would be ideal and better than anything I've seen from Dembele etc in the past.
  3. Great new title! Let's hope this one doesn't go to a replay.
  4. I bet he thought you were calling him "King".
  5. I'm sure you are right. That I retain residual fear that the owners of the football club I support and love might be quick to pick up on, and take petty action against, comments on a fans' internet forum perhaps feeds into why I hold no stock in what any of them say to any supporters group across a table. Amongst many other instances, the experiences of a range of Rovers individual, and groups of, supporters with Venkys over the years show that the owners and their lackeys are never to be trusted. It is highly unlikely that any meaningful progress will be made by speaking with them, and more foreseeable that those supporters will be 'played', like others before them.
  6. Also, fantastically encouraging to hear that this court case 'old chestnut' is actually a wonderful opportunity to strike a deal whereby our benevolent owners will finally be able to transfer all those millions over that they've been so cruelly stopped from doing due to their (alleged) breaching of actual laws. Thank goodness this long-delayed opportunity is coming round and we will imminently put a stop to flogging off our young prospects, and anyone with a half decent wage, to the first offeror and begin to maintain our stadium, spend a little bit of money on transfers, etc. Exciting times. Roll on the next 14 years of Pasha and Venkys, lets have a chat with them every now and again during that time, which will have absolutely no bearing at all on those in Pune. They need to fuck off and stop killing our club. That's all.
  7. I like the presentation style. For me, your colour coding is too generous. Unless the rationale for 'green' is being a good player for a relegation team, at best, or a league one team. I don't see many/any of these as being good top half championship players that couldn't realistically be improved upon. It is a hugely downgraded team, with the correct caveat of several being 'unknown', at this stage.
  8. "Get Real". *does the Dom Hyam 'calm down' hands*
  9. Today, and each day, I expect zero. To manage my disappointment! It'll be a nice surprise when (if) we ever make a first team signing. It'll happen about the same time we confirm the sale of our best player.
  10. Where are all these signings, then?? All hanging around behind Sammie, taking it turns politely asking him if he's left yet?
  11. So, without wingers who can cross the ball, this signing sounds pointless. We must be lining up a couple of wingers if we are banking on this guy getting some goals.
  12. A both masterful and colourful example of "balanced comment", there! Love it.
  13. Like the recent John Ruddy suggestions, makes no sense. Particularly when you see Lewis Baker's recent history (last season) with a bad knee injury. Although maybe that makes it as much of a Rovers signing as any other?!
  14. Exactly - it is what 'normal' clubs do: "You want to buy one of our first team players? OK, here's a price over their value. Pay it or leave." Some other clubs just flog the family jewels at the first sniff of an offer.
  15. Something about adding to the English quota of the squad to abide by rules, without actually affecting the first team.
  16. Depressing. Also, Sam Gallagher the "hit man"?!?! Hahaha. Only if he has a side line in contract killings. Even then I'd expect he turns down most deals due to injury and, when fit, he just runs around a bit then shoots wide.
  17. It's making my head spin!! I can imagine this ending in no signing but the club shop making a killing with a new 'Where's Yuki?" book. Each page being set in a different country/city/airport and including an extra special challenge of finding a laughing Duncan McGuire peeping out from behind a randomly-placed and camouflaged 'submit' button. Bonus points for spotting Suhail in the shadows.
  18. I think we have seen different interviews! Whatever someone's sensitivity to criticism, gesturing negatively at your own team's fans isn't helpful or ok. Especially when your performances have been gash. Like in non-football life, though, I should never close my mind to changing my view of someone so here's to Hyam playing well, signing a new deal, and keeping his gob shut towards fans while opening it more on the pitch, as a leader in what is highly likely to be a difficult season.
  19. Yeah, I would be fine with him being sold - if there were a buyer. Having been close up to see his 'performance' at Bristol and his patronising gestures to fans, combined with what comes across to me as a lack of intelligence and energy, led to me actually disliking him as a Rovers player, which is quite rare. The big issue, of course, wouldn't be Hyam leaving but who (if anyone) would replace him.
  20. Random question: When a player flies to complete a transfer (like our incoming/potentially incoming/possibly incoming new signing), who pays for the flights?
