  1. What makes this ‘journalist’ think Travis could sign a pre contract agreement with Derby in January?
  2. Yep (for as long as we’re in The Championship). I guess the idea is to reward club’s for giving youth a chance - but you’d have thought they’d have set that chance a bit higher than a minute! Youth player for this season is anyone born on or before 1st January 2004.
  3. Yes, I mentioned he’d be an exception panels case yesterday but omitted to do so this time - my mistake. I’m not sure whether he’d get through that way as the regulations are very subjective on this - all they say is it must be demonstrated that the player only failed to get to 15 points because of ‘exceptional circumstances’. There’s also the £5,000 + VAT fee the club would need to pay (up front) which needs to be considered - would Pasha sign off on that????
  4. No, the points are only awarded for a league debut. Any minutes in the cup are irrelevant.
  5. Our League One (17-18) turnover was £9 million with the following reductions vs the relegation (£14.9 million) year: £0.5 million match day income £4.8 million media income £0.6 million commercial and other income. Wage bill went from £22 million to £16.8 million.
  6. One more thing about Elliott’s article: It’s irrelevant that Mafoumbi hasn’t made a debut with any other club. What matters is 1. he’s a youth player and 2. him making his Rover’s league debut.
  7. Thank you. Do we think Elliott has been reading again or is it just a coincidence he’s just written this piece? I maintain he’s wrong about the Japanese player btw - I think he’d need to be an ESC but not because he played yesterday.
  8. I agree with GBE expert that the debut needs to be in the league.
  9. It’s definitely just his senior debut - relevant paragraph, table + definition of youth player below:
  10. Assuming I’m right about this, we could still give him those 30 seconds now. Whether the conversion paperwork would then happen quick enough for us to re-use his ESC place this window is anyone’s guess.
  11. Adam And The Ants - Stand And Deliver
  12. My thoughts were based on Venkys being the real owners and the agents taking advantage of how stupid they are. Many other theories are available.
  13. Money left in the club would be swallowed up by the club’s losses. Money taken out the club would add to the club’s loss but be in their pocket(s).
  14. Did we have any left footed CBs in 94 - 95? I don’t think we did.
  15. To make people richer (by taking advantage of rich idiots).
  16. Moves the money from inside the club to outside the club. 🧐🤔
  17. I’ll ask this here as I can’t be bothered finding the correct thread for it… To what date are our fixtures now ‘set in stone’? I’m thinking of attending a match (first one since the Oxford promotion one!) but my wife would need to make a rota request so I can have our car for the day. Ta in advance.
  18. That’s very kind of you to say so, thank you. 👍 I hope, if my interpretation is right, that the club is aware - I fear that they wouldn’t be.
  19. We could do a leaving early version of that. Perhaps the Riverside could lead the way. 😁
  20. What powers, if any, does he have?
  21. I’ve read the rules a few times and checked and re-checked all the relevant definitions* - I’m not seeing why this wouldn’t work. Maybe I’m missing something 🤷‍♂️. * eg we’re definitely his ‘current club’ and he’s definitely a ‘youth player’
  22. Just to add, if my theory is right, Mafoumbi could reach the 15 points too - all we’d need to do is give him a league minute.. 10 for playing for a band 2 club (needs to be named in a matchday squad). 5 as a youth player making his senior debut (needs to get on the pitch). It can’t be that simple, can it…
  23. Looking at the criteria again (re Miyoshi) has made me wonder if Toth can/will qualify in January under the points system: 10 points for being at a Band 2 club leaves 5 needed to reach the requisite 15. 5 points are given for playing 40-49% of available minutes (league only, band 2) in the previous twelve months. League matches in 2025 (if I’ve added up right) = 47 of which Toth has played 100% of 7 of those to date. Again (and if my maths is right!) he needs to play the equivalent of 12 full league matches out of the remaining 24 this calendar year. Does that rambling make sense?? 😁😁 The same method might work for Kargbo too but he’s currently on fewer minutes than Toth and looks likely to play fewer than him (for now at least) too.
  24. Agreed - although in this case it’s the main GBE criteria which has the following issue. The category ‘League Quality of Player’s current club’ doesn’t set out at what date/point this changes in the case of promotion/ relegation. I’m as certain as I can be that whether he plays today or not is irrelevant - I’ve no clue as to whether the game ‘happening’ (ie his club’s season starting) is the trigger for his points reduction.
