  1. They changed their mind on Cat's for various games last season, making it up as they went along really.
  2. Even if it's only 7k Waggot will put spin on it that puts Alistair Campbell to shame.
  3. West Brom tickets start at 25 quid which appears to be a freeze so fair play to that. Any 1875 needs to be aimed at getting more pick and choose walk ups to come a bit more often and hopefully turn them into half/full ST holders. Buy a membership and get a discount on enough games to make it worthwhile.
  4. As a JW upper outer convert myself it's genuinely a mixture of people near where i sit and big games it's usually groups of guys in 20/30s who fill it up. Maybe just because BBE lowers fills up first and riverside is out of fashion these days. Burnley game was amazing in there but most games its dire.
  5. Should be compulsory all under 35's in the BBE and all over 35's in the JW ! Might help the atmosphere 🫢
  6. Could it be quite a few BBE regulars are feeling the cost of living pinch a bit more now and have had to give up STs ? Whereas the JW might be more attractive to newbies and those returning to the fold after not spending on STs for a while. Many sitting in there back end of last season on cheap ticket deals and one off visits might be tempted.
  7. Great fans PNE and Bolton not only do they only turn up when it's good but they'll also flock in when it's cheap. Never get that at Ewood, bad bad fans !
  8. Price to your market and you don't even need that, ask PNE.
  9. To get the best out of Armstrong you have to tailor your play almost entirely to him and probably rotate him from being up top to wide. That's what Mowbray did for a season or so and that's what helped turn him into a 15 million quid forward but he's another i'm not sure fits JDTs style. He was a lazy little fecker at times and wouldn't do the graft on the left BBD when he was on it although i think he's just as big a threat going forward at this level. We are in no position to turn down a player like that though if it was doable.
  10. We had a lot more walk ons that usual in the run in so hopefully it balances out and we get the usual 11/12k hardcore. A few more would be nice but I'll be amazed if 5k or more walk up for WBA though.
  11. Given recent seasons numbers and continuing price rises coupled with the cost of living etc to get 9k before a ball is kicked is respectable. However factor in it might only hit that number because of early bird uptakes, ergo price initiatives DO work which is a point argued against by some on here, bizarrely.
  12. And we'd still need 3k walk ons to hit 12 thousand home fans....
  13. Mowbray's experimental development football that's why just at a time it called for a cohesive well oiled unit to make the most of what we had.
  14. The attitude in recent years seems to have been look this is the price come if you want otherwise fine we aren't bothered. Then there is dismay at night games in Nov/Dec when the place is eerie and at the tail end of the season they are practically begging people to come with cheap tickets. Critical thinking is absent without leave down there.
  15. I'd say a good signing would see another little surge as the season draws closer.
  16. No it's just that they have great fans and we don't, nothing to do with the massive increase in gates coinciding with big ST price cuts. Whilst ours slid year on year with year on year hikes, between two clubs whose gates were very similar for decades before but now sit miles apart despite the division difference. Nothing to see here at all.
  17. 5 or 6k is absolutely fine for a game like this. When does the 'The Riverside is shut never seen that before' - 'Fans don't come even when it's cheap' hysteria begin ?
  18. Derby were being naughty though .
  19. If it was being done to steel a march on rivals and get money to spend then fair enough but to use a fixed asset in that way to keep debt down i can't see the issue. Each case should be judged on its own terms.
  20. A lot never seem capable of separating the difference between financial obligations as owners and just giving the club money because it's the honourable thing to do.
  21. It might be the academy site next then !
  22. Hypothetically i wonder if the club could buy the training ground back then sell it again to another set up company in a few seasons ?
  23. Who lives in the thing ?
  24. This thing has taken on a narrative of its own, Kaminsky is Jason Lowe with his feet whilst Pears is akin to Tugay with the ball !!! Top and bottom of it is TK is by far the better mon with his hands, a vital stat for a keeper, whilst Pears is a bit more decisive with his footwork which JDT seemed to prefer. Nobody would expect Pears to be as good as Tommy though seeing as he is only at the start of his journey. We need to remember that Raya always looked a quality keeper in the making and was an instant improvement on Steele but then ended up getting dropped himself due to the wobbles. Steven has a way to go yet so that's why i wouldn't be so quick to get Kaminsky out the door for less than 3 million AND another experienced guy coming in to fight it out with Pears.
