We really need to start a crowd funding effort for BRFCS's sensitive members so we can contribute to a nice box at the games so they can sit out of earshot of the random football crowd rabble. I'm sure you never hear such things at other grounds after people have turned up, paid their hard earned then felt slightly underwhelmed at the lack of effort on the pitch by some who earn per week almost what they earn per year ?
-
Isn't this all this for another thread or forum even ? It's more boring than people bickering about actual players and managers to be honest bud.
-
It was brewed in Chorley, no soft lads there ?

Brereton is doing some good stuff from wide positions on that vid... Main question really is will he ever fit the Rovers TM style or is he another Tony has got then tried to shoe in but isn't comfortable in our overall system ? Only time will tell with this one he could have a website and MB all of his own by then. I've seen zip all in him so far but going off that he looks decent like a different guy almost and the Forest ST fan I speak too thinks he's good and is surprised it's not happened here so far, he's also of the strong opinion that they are guaranteed 6/7 million with add ons if triggered. I'm not overly happy with the way he's been used here I think they've dropped a bollock with that and now the only real option is an U23 stint which won't do him any harm then reintroduce later on. I've written off the first chunk of that 7 mill as something that could and should have been used better this season but i'm not writing the player off until he's had a full pre season here. That's me mute on it till next October..............I think ?

I'm sure there used to be a Vimto factory in Chorley ....? Probably made in China now or somewhere.
-
I expect the loan with for a fee and loan to buy market will gather pace in the next season or two as the agents look for a new revenue stream mid season after the panic buy/sell market has dried up.
-
But then possibly driving the prices of the few who fit good profiles even higher because there won't be many but many will covet them ? Can't win either way.
-
And years after all that he was joining in 5 asides at training in his 50's and booting his own multi million pound players up in the air. He lost the plot here and should've been potted but I can't help but like him, what a mon.
-
Eventually, several pay rises in his time here allegedly starting off around 20k
-
Fair enough opinions differ I suppose and I didn't realise his goals return was only 27 ? The 8 million though when weighed against going back down was covered I think similar to 8 million now on someone who might fire us up. Looks worse because of what followed with him and Souness and them letting him go for nothing when someone would've paid a couple of million or so for him. Think I recall a rumour Souness gave it the old 'him or me' so they just released him without demanding a fee but without having to pay him off. Imagine that being now ?
-
When they clicked they did well but I just don't think the way we played then was set up to get the best out of those two just lurking about upfront. Yorke was a class act as a player as well just a world renowned lazy git and they've never gone down well up here. At Rovers I think it' a fair to say they had their best games without each other,
-
It's a scary figure for Rovers for sure but I thought Cole cost 8m but anyway to say he was a waste of money is utter bollocks he was a class act throughout his time here. His legs were going a bit compared to what they were as time wore on and he began to tailor his game a little differently. By doing this he also had a big hand in helping the development of Duff and Jansen. I'd say Souness and the signing of Yorke had more to do with Coley sulking than anything else but he was still a class act on the pitch but silly Souness let him go for nowt.

If Tweedles Dumb and Dee aren't really involved now no wonder things have settled down a bit I just hope it stays that way and big sis keeps this toy on the top shelf firmly out of reach and Balaji's 'pals' on mute. All that would probably tally in with the auditors/management consultants going in and it now actually being run like a football business, say what you want about her and hubby - and I have - they are clearly the business brains behind the whole empire, know nothing about football but by god they seem to know about amassing wealth they just need to let the right people spend it for a bit !
-
That's their Dack type talisman signing i'm sure he'll fire them back up, bold move.
-
Proper club and ground Brentford but always used to knock us out of cups for a spell then relegated us recently, well the final nail anyway so it's always nice when we beat them. Bees 3 Rovers 1 Hysteria after the lack of transfer activity, announce relegation.... I'll settle for 2-2 though ?
-
Sheff Weds is a good example of what we don't want to do and in hindsight it's a pity they didn't chuck us big money for Marshall after that alleged medical he was supposed to be having there for about 3 windows.
-
When you think of the contracts handed out here to far bigger tossers like Murphy, Best, Etuhu etc etc and they were honoured in the form of pay offs then yes Blunderland get the man paid what you promised him.
-
We've made a loan signing a 7 million permanent one you ungrateful git what more do you want ! ?
-
Ah,,, the midfield scattergun days !
-
He does, Nixon ?

Yes I definitely remember the £13 figure although can't remember which manager era but think it was based on per seat and at a guess in relation to ave Prem crowds of about 22k weighed against 31000 seats and ticket prices and STs not a great deal different in price than today probably.
-
Yes it was the overall average take per head on average crowds of above 20 thousand and I think ST may have been similar prices to now, probably walk ons as well seeing as it was the Prem. Such a hard fanbase to call though at Rovers as I mentioned above when the economy was good mid 00's and we had a good PREM team they hiked the prices quite a bit, almost 100 quid up combined for me and the then GF and crowds went down quite a bit. It's all about the Prem though for a lot of our locals so maybe the old Premier league or even play off pledge is the way to go again.
-
Didn't JW say the total take from tickets at Ewood was about £13 per head in the days of decent Prem crowds ? Anyway it's all about the timing in regards to cutting ST prices, doing it as a desperate measure doesn't have much effect but doing it when the team/club is going through a purple patch will have good results, league you are in contribution massively obviously. There's plenty evidence on both sides of the coin in the recent past c10 years ago under Big Sam with a massive positive effect and a good team under a good manager and a marquee summer signing, economy still buoyant yet crowds flopped because of a significant hike in prices all at once when Hughes was here.
-
Although we need a striker we aren't in a bad position at the min as long as there are no outgoings so they can leave things till the very last min in the hope of getting a decent deal. Miss out and yes disappointed but for once it's not the end of the world as the team will manage unlike some previous windows.
-
If it only put a thousand home fans on the gate it's a start we need to be aiming for 13/14 regulars like a few years ago and forget fantasy figures of 20k or the Oxford game its rarely happened regularly at Ewood in this league until maybe the last few months of a valid promotion push. Every little bit counts and if an extra thousand come at a tenner and see a good game and maybe a new face or two a good few will come back the next match at full price, more if it's cheap again. Tap into every bit of positivity you can when you can we are after the team being rebuilt bit by bit, the club as a whole so that applies to the fanbase as well, small steps but steps in the right direction. Rovers are always better when they are a lean mean fighting machine on and off the pitch rather than a bloated overhyped overspending mess. Let's get those few thousand lapsed fans who got sick of the miss management of the club and nonsense like Coyle back first.
