  1. Rubbish! What the hell is the basis for that non-opinion? Are you saying fullbacks can go walkabouts whenever they want? The clues in the name DEFENDER.
  2. How many times have I banged on about the full backs staying in defensive positions and not indulging themselves as wingers. Commentator on Sky just called this out. We need a back 4 that stays as a back 4. Nyambe out of position on the move leaving up to the 'penalty'.
  3. I said way back in the first game he played that we had found something special in Dolan. For me above anything else the most impressive feature is the way the ball sticks close to his feet. Players daren't dive in at him or he's gone. Doesn't matter how fast he's running or how hard the ball is fired at him that ball is glued to his toes. With that as his core skill the rest can be added or taken away as the coaches see fit. It's spectacular to see him dump players on their arses with tricks but yesterday showed he has so much more and the player he can become. Well impressed.
  4. Holy shit, what are we doing!
  5. Can't last I'm actually enjoying it.
  6. Brereton is a number 9 no question. In the crazy world of TM though we have him somewhere around the left wing. Complementing the other insane selection of Gallagher on the other wing. Perfectly logical (not) to stick your shortest slightest player as centre forward, but what do I know? I've been banging on about horses for courses for ages now. We don't have 11 available players who are good enough to play Mowbray's system. Lack of skill, lack of fitness, lack of availability through injury it doesn't matter the cause, we don't have 11 of them so why stick to the same approach. Rocket Science Alert - if we're leaking goals make the defenders defend and not spend most of their time in the oppositions box, they should be in and around our box locked into a solid defensive 4 that moves as one. But that's just me. Brereton for centre forward.
  7. First sensible comment on Sky all night. Brereton is a NUMBER 9!! We're playing him as a winger who's charged with tracking BACK to give DEFENSIVE cover. wtf.
  8. We don't have the players to play this system. We need fresh thinking or fresh players. Only one of these is possible this season. Fix this or we go down.
  9. But not as a full back he isn't. If we want to see him playing brilliantly as a winger every match then that should be his starting position and we should put a real full back behind him. Ditto Bell.
  10. It's a back 2. Christ knows where the other two are. Probably 'oveloading' somewhere in the oppositions box.
  11. Count how many incomplete passes we make. Spot the full back. We have a defensive centre 2. No settled partnership. What do we do, leave them to it and give the full backs license to wander and pretend to be attackers. Nyambe stood and watched by the half way line as Elliott runs back to the position he's supposed to be in. Crazy crazy crazy crazy set up.
  12. I want the same for this match as I've wanted for our previous matches. I want a defensive UNIT that stays together and defends. I don't want to see our defenders attacking. They aren't good enough to do both and time and again the full back positions are where we concede goals from. It's old fashioned but I'm old fashioned, give me the George Graham mentality any day. If we had different players then maybe play something different, but we haven't. Please give me a solid defensive back four. IMO we have one creative player of talent, Rothwell. I want to see him in the MIDDLE of the park and I want to see him breaking forwards left right and centre. I want to see him tucked in behind the attacking front 2 or 3. Behind Rothwell I want to see two destructive players, players who protect the back four, win the ball and release it for others to be creative with, Travis and Johnson when both are fit. The rest of the positions look after themselves, especially with 5 substitutes. We're always capable of scoring one goal, the trick is not to concede one. There's not a snowballs of any of this happening so I predict a loss and more banging of heads on brick walls murmuring Mowbray out. He should go IMO opinion because he's making footballing mistakes, end of!
  13. Nothing that needs escalating to the Mods K-Hod. I'm just getting tired of the non footballing criticism. Phrases such as 'The comments of a coward' and 'Honourable Man my ar*e' focus on the guys character not football. The Brockhall thread is full insinuations of under hand goings on and negative views on the guys integrity. He should go for football reasons and there are plenty of those without calling his character and honesty into question. Just that and no more really, just a request to keep it civil and fair.
  14. I don't know what else to say really. I agree he should go. The reason, he's not cutting it. Don't care what he says. If he was winning every game I don't think you would either. But he's not winning, everyone is angry, people are insulting him. I don't think that's fair. That was and is my point.
  15. Is that really what you got from the post.
  16. Sorry guys I'm not with you on this. I read the PNE v Rovers thread on the Preston supporters site after we killed them at Deepdale. I was so grateful we didn't have fans like that. Foul-mouthed morons calling for the managers head. The hate was palpable and horrible and I remember thinking how proud I was of our supporters in contrast to theirs. This TM out stuff is getting wilder and wilder and before long we'll be approaching their level of vitriol. TM has to go for football reasons. He probably needs to take half the team with him. He's out of ideas and we need a change. His backroom staff need clearing out as well (with certain exceptions like Damien). We all share the same views on the board and Venkys but that's where it should stop. They are not evil villains, they're not corrupt, TM is not some moral defective, his character should not be ridiculed and his wife should not be mocked with references to drizzle cake (whatever that is). TM, in my opinion, saved this club and gave us back some self respect, please don't flush this self respect down the pan with wild conspiracy theories and aspersions on people character and motivations. We are Rovers not Preston/Burnley. That's not who we are, we are better than that. TM out yes. Lynch mob no thank you. If you get mad reading this then I suggest you have a good look at yourself.
  17. I'm actually coming around to the Dave Carroll comment, I thought the problem was 100% the manager and coaching staff. I thought we had a pretty good squad just badly managed. But now I'm of the opinion that we have a crap manager, a crap coaching staff, a crap board AND a crap squad. The players all flatter to deceive. If they're good they're not consistent. How many games have we seen this season when everyone's been at for 90 minutes. JUST changing TM et al will be like firing your decorator because you're fed up with him painting every room black and white then hiring a new guy to discover you've only got black and white paint. We need, IMO, to get a new management team and give them a budget. If we don't get new players I don't think we'll see much change. Venky's, take your courage in both hands and make the change and also open your cheque book or you'll achieve nowt.
  18. Desperate times desperate measures.
  19. Can we get the momentum going now please for Sherwood, who's up for it?
  20. Scored from a corner, wtf, whats going on?
