The most painful job in the world is to be a Rovers supporter. Nailed on loss. Nailed on embarrassment. Still, I flatter myself that I'm always there to do my bit so I'll stump up again. We lose, I descend into a deep depression- again. I go home and kick the cat - again. I don't speak to the wife for days - again. I hate everything and everyone- again. I'm a nice guy and don't like being like that but that's the job of the Rovers supporter. I'll be there - again, looking forward to it - not. A miserable 2 nil win for PNE.

Too slow. No midfield. We don't like to face the press. No central strikers. Too slow. Too slow. Oh and TM as manager. Recipe for success. -

Get well soon mate. Fabulous post, nail on head. Strikers positioned wide, goals positioned in the centre, go figure Mr Mowbray. If this formation is played every match we'll lose, oh wait a minute. -

Ah you must be a newbie. OK back in the day there was internecine fighting on the terraces and messageboards (post a guy called Kean and some others). Corruption abounded, dodgy agents and all that. Then TM arrives and gets the poison chalice . Huddersfield cheat and give Rednap a win. We go down. Things looking really really grim. Supporters say that's it, its over, we've lost the club. Ewood is going to become a housing estate, Brockhole becomes one. Then things got back on track, we got promoted and ... well that's probably enough and you're mostly caught up now. If you're not new then where the f*ck have you been? Now for the football bit ... TM has run his course. It's over. He HAS to go. Hail fellow, well met, now FO Tony. -

Hey Buddy if I'm up for sacking him then you know he's hit the bottom. I've said many times I think he saved this club from extinction but thats then and this is now. On footballing reasons alone he HAS to go. Clueless. No fight, no passion just excuses and yet more excuses. Oh for a Souness! -

I'm not putting any money on a win. We got away with loads first half. If it carries on like this we're going down 2 or even 3 one. -

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20050259.brilliant-bunch---tony-mowbrays-backing-blackburn-rovers-squad/ Sounds like the kind of language of one whose leaving? I really think he could be on his way.

Here's a firecracker in your hen house - maybe TM staying is the best thing! Think Curbishley and Charlton. 96 until 06 I think and a few years before that in a joint role. Two promotions and a solid Premiership position when he left. Didn't do anything later at West Ham. Success at Charlton was put down to his longevity at the club where year on year he got the internals right and brought through the players he wanted. Not putting TM in same class as Ferguson but the same applied to him. Nearly sacked, survived and improved over the years once he had knocked the club into shape and his image. Chalk and cheese obviously but the principle holds. Maybe, just maybe TM staying would be a good thing, especially when you look at the possible replacements and how long it would take them to refashion the team. Boom! Just saying 🙂

All the negative points of the TM tenure have been well aired over the years. I agree with all of them so no need to reiterate here. For me though there is a trump card that cancels out all the bad stuff. IMO TM saved the club. It's easy to forget the filth that floated across our door before he arrived. Saying we were in dire straights doesn't come close to it. Hands up all those who didn't fear for the continued existence of the club. We were a laughing stock and were rightly ridiculed. TM brought integrity and over time got rid of the crap players and agents. That's one guys opinion and I know many will disagree but for me that earns him a 10. Deducting points for the obvious footballing car crashes reduces his score to 7 for me. When he goes I'll thank him for his service, agree with most on here that his time was up and then get back to worrying about who can replace him. By the way, injuries have been a nightmare last season and this so I'll cut him some slack and say 7.5/10.

We can question his team selections, tactics and the rest but IMO Mowbray has saved this vlub. He brought integrity and values picked the tight kind of people, didn't go shit or bust. We were in a right state when he came in and whilst we can never know what might have been under different management for my money the reason Rovers is still here is because of him We're 3rd by the way 🙂

First job of the day is for Rothwell to fire his agent. Made him look a proper dick. Second job of the day is to man up and face his team mates and apologise. Third job is to tear up other teams on the pitch and help get us promoted. No time to retreat into his shell out of embarrassment. We need all guns blazing, let's do these feckers. COYB. -

If we sell him we've lost a player. If he rots in the U23s we've lost a player. If he's in the U23s we've no money to replace his position in the team. If he goes to Bournemouth we get funds to replace him but a rival benefits, his team mates team-spirit is shaken, the supporters and club are betrayed by a backstabbing SOAB. He's got us all ends up. Rock. Hard place. I said it before and I'll say it again, Arsehole. -

We need someone in Rothwells position doing what Rothwell does. If its Rothwell himself or some new hire I don't really care. What I do care about is this self centered FU attitude that is trying to sabotage our club on the eve of a serious automatic promotion push. Shearer did the same to us. We get to days before the deadline and he pisses all over his team mates and us by asking to go. Promotion will be everything to this club and it's future, if we stay in the Championship lord knows where will go as a club. We deserve better than this, we've built Rothwell into the player he has become and now he says thank you very much, don't need you anymore, let's see how much I can con out of the next mug club. The lad's a good player, his position is a key part of our shape, if he leaves without a like for like replacement we'll have to change the system again, and we all know what happens then. I'm proper blazing. We supporters have had to take it on the chin for years but this is one blow to many. Arsehole. -

But that's the point, there is no 'appropriate time' when you've got no gate receipts coming in. The problem is constantly there. You can't even gamble of future cashflows when folk say they'll never return until ownership changes. For me a wage structure is necessary, if players want more than the structure cap then they have to climb down or move on. The club is bigger than any player, we come first. There's no optimum right time to fix this. On this topic I don't blame Waggott or the owners. -

In business you can only control costs, you cannot control income. Income is mostly a random function, you can plan and forecast all you like but you cannot control it. If there is no cap on wage costs and there's no money coming through the turnstiles then there's only one outcome - no more club. Someone once said that for every question there is always one obvious, easily stated, readily understood WRONG answer. Blaming the club for having a wage policy is wrong, blaming the club for players not accepting modest terms is wrong. Blaming stay away fans for not putting cash into the coffers gets more traction with me though no doubt I'll be howled down for that thought. IMO the owners, who have done plenty wrong at our club, have at least got this one right. We need a wage policy. They are throwing their own money away by not cashing in on the want-away players and all in a bid at giving us the best possible shot at promotion. Plus they're funding new arrivals within the restrictions of FFP. What more could be realistically asked for? If Ewood was full every week then I'd be the first to criticise the club for allowing contracts to run down but it's not. We have to wee with the willy we've got. If the players go they go. See who else is out there and WANTS to play for our great club and let's get on with it. COYB. -

TimmyJimmy replied to Aqualung's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
How could they not? It's fact. All they could talk about was a new dawn at Hull and how we deserved nothing. They've always had a down on us since Jack 'bought' the title and nothings changed. They're a bloody disgrace.
