January Transfer window 2022
TimmyJimmy replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we sell him we've lost a player. If he rots in the U23s we've lost a player. If he's in the U23s we've no money to replace his position in the team. If he goes to Bournemouth we get funds to replace him but a rival benefits, his team mates team-spirit is shaken, the supporters and club are betrayed by a backstabbing SOAB. He's got us all ends up. Rock. Hard place. I said it before and I'll say it again, Arsehole. -

We need someone in Rothwells position doing what Rothwell does. If its Rothwell himself or some new hire I don't really care. What I do care about is this self centered FU attitude that is trying to sabotage our club on the eve of a serious automatic promotion push. Shearer did the same to us. We get to days before the deadline and he pisses all over his team mates and us by asking to go. Promotion will be everything to this club and it's future, if we stay in the Championship lord knows where will go as a club. We deserve better than this, we've built Rothwell into the player he has become and now he says thank you very much, don't need you anymore, let's see how much I can con out of the next mug club. The lad's a good player, his position is a key part of our shape, if he leaves without a like for like replacement we'll have to change the system again, and we all know what happens then. I'm proper blazing. We supporters have had to take it on the chin for years but this is one blow to many. Arsehole. -

But that's the point, there is no 'appropriate time' when you've got no gate receipts coming in. The problem is constantly there. You can't even gamble of future cashflows when folk say they'll never return until ownership changes. For me a wage structure is necessary, if players want more than the structure cap then they have to climb down or move on. The club is bigger than any player, we come first. There's no optimum right time to fix this. On this topic I don't blame Waggott or the owners. -

In business you can only control costs, you cannot control income. Income is mostly a random function, you can plan and forecast all you like but you cannot control it. If there is no cap on wage costs and there's no money coming through the turnstiles then there's only one outcome - no more club. Someone once said that for every question there is always one obvious, easily stated, readily understood WRONG answer. Blaming the club for having a wage policy is wrong, blaming the club for players not accepting modest terms is wrong. Blaming stay away fans for not putting cash into the coffers gets more traction with me though no doubt I'll be howled down for that thought. IMO the owners, who have done plenty wrong at our club, have at least got this one right. We need a wage policy. They are throwing their own money away by not cashing in on the want-away players and all in a bid at giving us the best possible shot at promotion. Plus they're funding new arrivals within the restrictions of FFP. What more could be realistically asked for? If Ewood was full every week then I'd be the first to criticise the club for allowing contracts to run down but it's not. We have to wee with the willy we've got. If the players go they go. See who else is out there and WANTS to play for our great club and let's get on with it. COYB. -
v Hull City (a) - 19/1/22
TimmyJimmy replied to Aqualung's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
How could they not? It's fact. All they could talk about was a new dawn at Hull and how we deserved nothing. They've always had a down on us since Jack 'bought' the title and nothings changed. They're a bloody disgrace. -

Their commentators were shocking, totally biased, they wouldn't piss on us if we were on fire. -

Cheated pure and simple. Sky, you're a disgrace. -

Sky commentators says 'Hull have been excellent'. Why do they dislike us do much. We've been awful but Hull are shocking, one long ball down the midfield, thats it, thats their one move in 45 minutes. EXCELLENT! Give me a break. -

5 at the back. 3 up front. 2 in midfield. Crazy. -

Bad bad bad. Need some bite in midfield. Both backs look weak. No meaningful possession. Midfield needs fixing NOW. -
Huddersfield Post Match & MOTM
TimmyJimmy replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Winning run ends but unbeaten run continues. Brave effort today. Watched Huddersfield's last match and predicted this was going to be a toughy. They stifled us and the pitch didn't help us. The ref, well what can you say, pathetic, but God loves a trier, maybe he'll improve though I doubt it. If drawing is as bad as it gets this season then I'll be happy. Come on you Blues. -
How on earth did Deby win, absolutely dire, worst team I've seen this season, and yet WBA fail to win. Good omens 🙂

Sky opinion just now is that it will be really difficult for us to hang on to Diaz this window. Brighton want him. Maybe a swap for their two loan players? -

Only one word needed to describe Birmingham, "physical". They will bombard our box with Hail Marys, they will hurl long throws in from everywhere then they have Deeney who needs the ball to break his way only once and we lose. This style of play is our nemesis. I'm worried by this one. It's going to be a tough bruising encounter. Dreamland if we win but my expectation is a score draw or worse. Small crowd today so not much of a 12th man effect. Really hope for a perfect result but I'm nervous. -
Ref won't rest until we're down to 10 men. He's beyond woeful.
-
There's only one derby and this ain't it. Just another match albeit they'll have good support being local. That said they're a good aggressive side who'll steamroller us if we sit back. They press high and launch balls into the box. That's our nemesis strategy. Saw their last game and they'll take some holding. End of the day we're THE ROVERS and they're not. 3:1 home win

Famous last words! -
Hang on a minute, I AM a fan so I'm not pinning it on anybody. It's just a statement of logic. A club without paying supports is dead. As long as the supporters live the club lives. Taking an interest, looking for the scores on a Saturday night or talking about the club to mates over a pint ISN'T being a supporter. Paying and showing up is. I'm reminded of the discussion about the difference between being involved and being committed. Eggs and Bacon. The hens involved, the pigs committed I'm a pig and always will be.
-
Whatever the legitimacy of their position and however understandable their pain from the Venky/Mowbray axis some 'supporters' just revel in cutting off their noses to spite their faces. Backing from the terraces fires up the team, fired up teams win matches, won matches promote teams, promoted teams earn pots of money, rich clubs survive. Crappy attendance numbers will kill our club, simple as that. Whatever our take on the merits of the current regime please just get down to Ewood and show up when you're needed ie right now. Your club needs you.
-
How bad does it have to get before the Venky's actually get off their gold plated cushioned arses and do something. They've abandoned the club and these management clowns can do anything they like. Taking the piss. I can't find a single positive to say about tonight's performance and it's getting to be the same every match now. Somethings got to be done.
-
Have any of our players heard of the word aggression? Piss poor performance. Just a shambles.
-
We've all got that sick sinking feeling, there's only one result here.
