  1. oops, just posted this on the Summer Transfer Window thread by mistake --- Just seen the horrible news of next wave Covid hitting India today. Horrific nunbers of infections. Patients laying on floors dying. Worst hit area is Pune. Doubt Venkys will have time to consider anything right now let alone Mowbrays replacement. I think we're stuck with him until next season.

  3. Considering our books are chocked full of midfielders we don't have a midfield. Forwards and backs, thats all I can see. WTF?
  4. Oldest form of madness in the world, keep doing the same things and expecting a different result. Mowbray et al have to go, nothing will change if he stays. Player contracts signed or not signed, irrelevant. New players in, irrelevant. Players leaving, irrelevant. Nothing will change just more speak about 'projects' and 'journeys', 'building a team', 'refreshing the infrastructure' etc etc etc, all bollocks. Nothing will change as long as Mowbray stays, guaranteed. Constant lower half of the table with promises of better to come, no thanks. WE NEED A CHANGE AND WE NEED IT NOW! New blood top to bottom, give the new guy total control over transfer policy, give the new guy these last few games of the season to get an understanding of where we're at, give the new guy a whole preseason AND A BUDGET, then I'll feel good again about being a Rovers supporter. If this doesn't happen then what's the point. Answer --- NONE!
  5. But then it all starts over again and there'll be no change so we'll be back in purgatory.
  6. I'm old fashioned. Biased towards big guy, short guy up top. Think Toshack/Keegan, Tore Andre Flo/Zola. We have an Armstrong, we have a Dolan. We have a Gallagher and we have a Brereton. Obviously not in the same quality league but surely TM should be trying out that formation. Am I missing something or is TM a moron?
  7. The players have all tried, losing this isn't through their lack of effort (and I don't often say that this season). The problem is awful team selection, setup and tactics. That's all down to TM. This just isn't working. Time for him to go has way past.
  8. Top quality goal, hands up for that one. Typical of our season.
  9. Lowe was a hate figure, Andrews was a hate figure, just don't think it's fair to lump Brereton in with them. He's done OK this match for me. In general he's done well this season. Injury stalled his progress, not his fault. He's a trier, the price tag and expectations aren't his fault
  10. Man oh man, just signed in and surprised at some of the negativity and moaning. It's been a good performance from us, Norwich haven't been bad, we've been good. Brereton has done nothing wrong at all yet he's getting an earful from some. Don't get it. I'm the first to scream and shout when we're awful but be fair that was a good first half.
  11. Ewood. The bog of eternal stench. Do we really have to have this served up every match. Time for a change.
  12. City are sucking the life out of the game. We've no ideas.
  13. Plenty of Labore, a bit more Arte please.
  14. Well it's another day and I still feel sick. What's Dack done to deserve this, absolutely tragic and totally gutted for the lad. Have a speedy recovery son. About the match, reading the comments on hear I think most see it in the same way. We were cheated yet again. Week in week out it's the same. Cast your mind back over the last few weeks, how many penalties haven't been given for us and how many soft decisions have gone the other way. Refereeing standards are just shocking aren't they. Before you jump all over me let me first say that I think TM should go but he's got a dog's luck this season. Travis, Dack being examples in just this one match. To be honest the team he put out there was one I would have started with EXCEPT Mowbray completely messed up again. Players playing in the wrong positions following the wrong strategy. For me : - wingers on the wing - full backs staying in defensive positions - drill a back 4 to be a unit and move as one a la George Graham's defenders on a rope ethos (4 guys holding on to the same rope and moving in lock step left and right) - play a 9 in the CF position - we need to move the ball quicker (actually a LOT quicker) - we have good players but not in every position, doesn't make sense to keep doggedly force fitting everyone into a system that ignores the player's capabilities. I could go on but I'm not saying anything here that you don't already know. Last night we were cheated yet again. Dack's injury was a sickner. We were setup wrong. Pitch is a disgrace. It's hard to be a Rovers supporter right now but I am and always will be. One day this nightmare will be behind us. TM, time to go. Venky's, time to go. Shitty luck, time to go!
  15. Officials need shooting. TM needs shooting. Commentators need shooting. Brentford are cheating bastards. Blood pressure through the roof. How much more of this do we have to endure.
  16. Rubbish! What the hell is the basis for that non-opinion? Are you saying fullbacks can go walkabouts whenever they want? The clues in the name DEFENDER.
  17. How many times have I banged on about the full backs staying in defensive positions and not indulging themselves as wingers. Commentator on Sky just called this out. We need a back 4 that stays as a back 4. Nyambe out of position on the move leaving up to the 'penalty'.
  18. I said way back in the first game he played that we had found something special in Dolan. For me above anything else the most impressive feature is the way the ball sticks close to his feet. Players daren't dive in at him or he's gone. Doesn't matter how fast he's running or how hard the ball is fired at him that ball is glued to his toes. With that as his core skill the rest can be added or taken away as the coaches see fit. It's spectacular to see him dump players on their arses with tricks but yesterday showed he has so much more and the player he can become. Well impressed.
  19. Holy shit, what are we doing!
  20. Can't last I'm actually enjoying it.
  21. Brereton is a number 9 no question. In the crazy world of TM though we have him somewhere around the left wing. Complementing the other insane selection of Gallagher on the other wing. Perfectly logical (not) to stick your shortest slightest player as centre forward, but what do I know? I've been banging on about horses for courses for ages now. We don't have 11 available players who are good enough to play Mowbray's system. Lack of skill, lack of fitness, lack of availability through injury it doesn't matter the cause, we don't have 11 of them so why stick to the same approach. Rocket Science Alert - if we're leaking goals make the defenders defend and not spend most of their time in the oppositions box, they should be in and around our box locked into a solid defensive 4 that moves as one. But that's just me. Brereton for centre forward.
  22. First sensible comment on Sky all night. Brereton is a NUMBER 9!! We're playing him as a winger who's charged with tracking BACK to give DEFENSIVE cover. wtf.
