By the sounds of the post on the Rovers site it doesn’t really give much away apart from calling him a highly-rated youngster alongside Candlin. I’d think he’ll be in the u23s looking to push on the same as Candlin is expected to? Never heard of him/seen him play before so he could go straight in the first team squad for all I know!

Good news for us for the weekend from the FA Spokesperson account on twitter: Neal Maupay will miss Brentford’s next three matches after accepting a charge of violent conduct. This follows an incident not seen by the match officials but caught on video in the 42nd minute of Wednesday’s game against Aston Villa [22/08/18].

Think going forwards we definitely need a ball playing centre mid to go alongside one of them...if Davenport isn’t up to it we need to get someone in on loan sharpish or it’ll be a long season!

We were definitely 2nd best for much of the first half but showed a few bits of quality. 2nd half we’re well on top for most of it. I know people have been commenting it has to be one of Evans or Smallwood for centre mid...I’d agree, but on this showing Evans should be nowhere near the match day squad. He had an absolute shocker for most of the game, granted Smallwood wasn’t great but at least he harried Millwall and didn’t leave them comfortably in possession. persobally would have subbed Evans for Armstrong/Rothwell, pushes Bennett into the centre and left Palmer on. As a few have also said Graham missed a couple of chances you’d expect him to convert. Not the worst result we’ll have all season, just feels a bit deflating after not turning up for most of the first half!

I thought it was his twitter picture at the end of the season from what I remember (and was originally from when he was on loan with us), but hopefully I’m wrong! ?

I was going to say...I thought Nicko said he's been in Spain with his wife over the weekend (which we allowed him to do), so no wonder he's not been in training on friday and possibly not today either. Either way we should get rid...he's not met targets set by Allardyce (fair or otherwise) and has consistently acted like a muppet when other clubs have shown the slightest interest in him. He's under - performed for the past 2 seasons for one reason or another, and has shown no willing or enthusiasm to suggest to us that he wants to get back to playing like he did in his first season for us...so to be frank, why waste our time, money, and effort on him? He's 30+ so isn't going to suddenly become a superstar again...although undoubtedly he can finish and show 3 or 4 nice tricks surely that doesn't outweigh the fact that apart from that he actually brings nothing most other strikers in the league do?...especially if there's running more than 20 feet involved. Find a replacement and get rid.
