  1. Exactly..... Customers are frequently overcharged by supermarkets but they will never ever be undercharged! I wonder how long it will be before the penny will drop at Wal-Mart and they change their 'positioning' in the market. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2277093/BREAKING-NEWS-Tesco-confirm-Everyday-Value-Bolognese-contained-60-horsemeat.html#axzz2KbVsmSy7 Main problem with all this is that the beef industry has been so ravaged by supermarket 'itsbetteritscheaper' policy over the years that I doubt there is enough English beef in the country to take up the slack.
  2. No objections from me there matey...... but only a plonker like you would be happy paying the price of beef for knackered old horse. And remember price is what all this is about.
  3. From 2009 Cheaper horse meat now being found in all manner of imported fast food products being the result of such. Make no mistake this will have been going on for years. If you want to buy good meat go to a local butcher and insist on British produce.
  4. You know very well Blue n White that a 3 is unacceptable when they know an inspection is coming. They were warned rem when the first inspection turned up a big fat zero. Bukhara is widely held as the best Pakistani cuisine in the area and not some scruffy back street dial-a-curry joint or similar so surely they have a reputation to lose rather than make? For a restaurant with that reputation 3 should be seen by the owners as a failure, a disaster even cos no matter how much you try to defend it it is how I and a number on here seem to be viewing it. If it was my business and I valued the business brought by English people I would be apologising and not seeking excuses. Heads would roll for the damage that staff slovenliness and slackness has caused to the business. The owner of the Sharzan must be p1ssing himself laughing.
  5. OK Dokey......... You have a taste card don't you Tom? I recommend you have an early Valentines, eat at The Mitton Hall early next week and stay home on the 14th. The staff are a bit pretentious but the food and surroundings are excellent. Bear in mind they limit it to two diners and it's 2 4 1 not 50%. If you have just one starter or just one dessert it's the equivalent of throwing the other away.
  6. So thats them playing hovercrafts on the bog for a day or two and out of Mondays line up then I guess blue and white? I don't suppose you could arrange for Ipswich to eat there pre match could you?
  7. Used to get ham, cheese and pineapple teacakes from the Refreshment Bar most lunchtimes interspersed with the odd sausage teacake from the El Grec when I worked in town.
  8. Indeed so rog. At least it was a favourite until I read last week that their standards of hygiens and cleanliness are appalling and their reluctance to conform even when warned an inspection was in the offing. I'd always much rather they had bought proper meat but at least it was my choice to eat there and not sneaked in through a back door lie as it is with the likes of KFC, Subway, Trafford Centre, various catering trade outlets, works canteens etc to appease the ignorance of the followers of the muslim faith on the basis that the rest of us 'won't mind'. Truth is I've travelled to the likes of Turkey, Morocco, Egypt and eaten meat there is the full knowledge that it will be hallal..... Now ask me if I a. objected? and b. Had the temerity to expect them to change their ways to suit my principles. Something that most educated people would see as rude, ungrateful and ignorant. 2/3 hens would do you Lechuck I'm sure. Modern layers each produce an egg a day. For 2/3 you would need little room and you'd hardly put a morsel of left-overs into the wheely bin. Hens eat the lot and turn it into an egg the day after. They are just about the 'greenest' animal on the planet. All part of the same broad church.......... Or are you just running a little scared Daz? Those words simply do not belong together.
  9. I most certainly would do if Hamilton and Breivik and all the perpetrators of those offences belonged to some intransigent and backward religion which condoned and all too frequently turned a blind eye to such evil. .... And before you come out with more ill considere rubbish I am equally appalled by the Catholic church covering up decades.... no centuries countless sick offences by paedophiles masquerading as priests.
  10. 1. Not for 20 years. 2. Not to the best of my knowledge. 3. I've got my own six hens tbh. They are proper free range not the pretend free range that retail outlets sell. Anymore questions LeChuck?
  11. You plainly don't know what you are talking about. Animals who have been stunned prior to being slaughtered bleed to death at exactly the same speed. So whose making ignorant comments now? A little culture? So banning the stunning of animals prior to totally unecessarily barbaric slaughter for no other reason than cruelty ... is that some culture that I am missing? How about subjecting females to second class citizenship and shooting teenage girls who stand against it? How about bigamy? How about forming a racist paedophile ring by targetting only under age IndoPak children to rape and all manner of atrocity? Are they all cultures that my life is short of? Maybe I'd be culturally fulfilled if I attended a few public stonings for minor offences like adultery etc? What do you reckon?
  12. I'd advise asking the manager to make sure Nick. Look into his eyes when you ask.
  13. Sorry Walter but it'll be all downhill now ............... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/02/04/bar-refaeli-godaddy-superbowl-advert_n_2614069.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cuk-ws-bb%7Cdl11%7Csec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D151569
  14. I avoid such places like the plague cos it's sneaky hallal abbey. They're all taking the @#/?.
  15. Silverskin onions. My wifes favourite from the Bukhara. It's not what you expect but dopiaza does mean double onions.
  16. That is a massive negative imo and tells me much more about the place thna the original 0/5! Only 3/5 after all that time and notice to clean up their act!!! Should be able to eat off the bloody floor down there right now. Not good enough really is it? imo it displays an extreme 'couldn't care less / the main of our customers don't mind too much about food hygiene so sod the authorities' defiant attitude. BnWR..... your uncle needs to sack off that manager pronto and advertise the fact widely too! Otherwise they have just lost an avid fan!
  17. If prison fare was still porridge alternated with bread and water I'd imagine pork would be devoured without a second thought.... cooked or not!
  18. Well I never! A hallal Italian! Is nothing sacred anymore in this world?
  19. Nobody has pushed Bukhara as being the best IndoPak cuisine in the area more than me so I hope this is a genuine reason and not an excuse BnWR. However am I the only one to think that Allah chappie doesn't seem very grateful? Are you sure matey actually went to Saudia and not Amsterdam or Vegas? I'd take a peek at his passport if I were you.
  20. Haven't you been there before Colin? With your mother I seem to rem.
  21. First time I went years ago it cost me a small fortune.......er indoors reckoned the table was just what we were looking for and I ended up buying the bloody thing!
  22. Alternatively Claire my wife is petite and doesn't have a big appetite so she frequently orders just two starters. One to start and the other to come with the main dishes. For people who prefer savoury dishes to desserts it's not a bad tip for people who do not want to overeat or who may be on post Christmas diets.
  23. Hey I think I've seen some of their waitresses on t'internet!
  24. A veggie? Sounds like she doesn't like meat passing her lips pb. ........... Better take the girlfriend then.
