  1. You might have but an awful lot of us woudn't - what a bloody stupid thing to say Touchy or what Laurence? You are of course quite correct......after all they still talk about Bert Trautmann in Manchester dont they? OK then we might not have forgotten about him entirely but at least we would have 5 fit and capable strikers to call on in what appears now to be our usual relegation battle instead of 4.
  2. BRFC and GS have acted commendably with Jansen by giving him EVERY chance to recover. If he had broken his neck we would all have forgotten about him by now. Total and utter crap by stupid and sentimental individuals to say the GS has not given him a chance. Last season was spent in the main in a relegation battle, if Jansen had shown that his old self was back during training or reserve matches do you lot not think GS would have picked him? I'm damned sure that he would have. The Prem is a tough and unforgiving league which tests and punishes any players and any clubs strengths and weaknesses.......... IT IS NOT A RE-HAB UNIT!
  3. Rik please read the posting guidelines here especially items 1, 2, and 3, all of which you have managed to violate. Before you automatically assume that he can read the guidelines Sam you really should watch 'That'll teach em' on Tuesdays.
  4. So thats it then............ we obviously had to bung him £150,000 at ten to midnight to get him off the piggin payroll.
  5. Maybe but it's my guess that he broke that the minute that he got on that damned scooter. BRFC have done damned well for him and given him every chance, but enough is enough.
  6. Calm down dear............it's only a loan signing.
  7. Whatever Brum paid I dunno but it has been revealed that he did not sign until 11.50pm (I thought he'd have been clubbing it by then!). Knowing that we were desperate to get rid of him in order to fund the Boothroyd deal whats the betting that we had to slip a substantial chunk of the fee untouched and straight into his back sack before he'd go? It'd be a typical parting shot by the evil black-mailing @#/? and his conniving agent huh?
  8. That sounds like a fair description of Dwight Yorke and Jordan as couple.
  9. Time will tell if this is a good or bad signing BUT one thing is for sure it's got to be a good swap. BTW This thread is growing fast so I can I please ask anybody who commented adversly to the signing of Paul Dickov in the other thread please refrain from posting as I han't got time to be continually wading through all the uninformed dross emanating from people who cannot tell a footballer from a cows arse .
  10. I thought so too but this kinda disproves that notion.
  11. BRFC is a business not a bloody benevolent society! We need a proper striker.........fast! This topic wants locking I have heard about as much simpering sentimentality as a man can take.
  12. Spot on! I thought also that the gap between ourselves and MU is wider than at any other time in the prem. imo we are the new Coventry. .....or at least I hope we are! Cov managed almost 40 years in the top div.
  13. I wonder if we can pot Di Pedro il Burro now?
  14. He is a costly spent force SAR. We desperately need another striker, our 5 front line strikers are in reality down to 1.5! Dickov is fine, Yorkes dismal, Gally is not pushing through, Matty is finished and Stead is still only young. Loss of form, injury or suspensins to Dickov or Stead will without doubt see us relegated. Stuff the french midfielder our striker options are far more pressing.
  15. This is why I hate the RFW so much........From the Guardian report "Ferguson was less reliable in describing Paul Dickov's opener as a scrappy goal from a throw-in and Blackburn's only attempt of the afternoon." What a bloody gobshite he is isn't he? That was an excellent piece of finishing by Dickov so why can he not admit it? What has he got to gain by being so churlish.
  16. Yes but the significant point about the penalty box incidents is 10) Handles the ball deliberately If any of these offences are committed by a player inside their own penalty area then it's a penalty. I think the word 'deliberately' exhonerates Nils as he was cleary looking the other way when the ball hit his hand as opposed to Saha whose handball action was definitely intentional. This is similar to the Pen give against Neil at Chelsea last season, sure his arms were up but he also was looking away when the ball made contact with his hand. I do wonder what is going on in referees heads when they make these decisions. Video evidence viewed by a 4th official for adjudication on such incidents is surely a must (especially for the smaller clubs like ourselves) and would definitely have left us with 2 more points and would also have seen Sorrenson sent off at Villa Park.
  17. short. When we drew 2-2 with em Sherwood at O.T. So up to now its Berg, Amo, Neil, Flitcroft, Short and Sherwood. I also have it in my head that Sutton got potted at OT too. I rem that there was also a sending off for both sides at Ewood circa 96/7 but I cannot rem who the players were. If that's the case then surely 8 sendings off for one team in approx 20 games against just 1 by the other team is surely an indication that something is very wrong with the officiating. Maybe a proper Statto would be good enough to research the number of cautions also. The reason I am so suspicious is the absolutely scandalous situation where a manager can bully a fourth official into adding on fictional overtime! Surely 'something is rotton in the Kingdom' of the FA? The matter should really be allocated top priority at Lancaster Gate........unless they are ###### scared of upsetting the RFW again! I notice that the incriminating evidence of 3 mins on the board being changed to 4 that was clearly shown by the MOTD cameras had been edited out by Sun morning. Ferguson refusing to be interviewed by the Beeb after the game (presumably after he was notified that he would be questioned about the incident) spoke absolute volumes. I hate cheating! We should definitely not let this drop and should bombard the media/ FA / other clubs etc until there is an enquiry. (any relevent email addresses gratefully recieved) Problem is that if there is any punishment it will be against MU and the 4th official and will not reimburse us for the lost points.
  18. We get stiffed by referees everytime that we play MU from the 'disallowed goal' of the championship season to Ashby's dodgy pen but just as a matter of interest how many times have we actually finished a match with 10 men against em? I can only rem one sending off from their side but with us it's almost become obligatory.
  19. If you think that I needed to calm down at 12.15 you should have seen me on the riverside less than 3 hours later!
  20. You are wrong there cock! I got potted for three months for just that reason! Anyway Thunderstorm speak for yourself, are you a victim of this relatively new and increasingly popular condition 'dyslexia'? If so I apologise for bruising your sensitivities (although I don't know why I should because you obviously wont be able to read this far). Or are you just plain thick/lazy or both? PS Maverick it's 'their'.
  21. I suggest that we also fire you from this messageboard because you obviously have no idea how to converse in the Queens English. Please try harder or get somebody with an IQ greater than the number of letters in your name to check your posts first.
  22. Good points Speeeedie and very good observations but you really need to take off your rose coloured spectacles. The fact that GS made drastic unforced changes to his tactics during the half time intervals in both games is an obvious admission that he got them very wrong in the first place. Sure those changes improved the team performance but a blind man on a galloping horse could see the obvious weaknesses he created to the team with playing players out of position in his strange midfield / defensive tinkering.
  23. I'm making no comment here other than to suggest that an analysis of GS's last two months in which he has made some particularly unfathomable decisions and especially given the backdrop of last seasons shambolic performance eg....... 1. Sold Cole 2. Kept Yorke 3. Played Emerton at full back (twice! When it was obvious after WBA that he could not prevent single cross coming over). 4. Matteo on the left wing. 5. Played Friedal when unfit. 6. Gresko and Di pedro in the same position with nobody on the right. 7. AND worst......Publically criticised the paying fans criticism of his tactics. might suggest that he is actually angling for the sack!?!
  24. I agree it simply can't have been that Jim. Lady Luck must have been working overtime this weekend just making sure that you somehow avoided causing all manner of carnage on the M6. Anyway I'm sure that GS must have been absolutely seething but did'nt he promise to try to avoid disciplinary measures by getting less het-up this season?
