  1. C'mon. Out with it Capt, don't be so shy just say what you think instead of beating about the bush so much.
  2. Obviously you missed Everton away last season. btw We can't drop defenders at the moment with two centre halves on the treatment table but I'd certainly give Peter a run in the starting line up for a few games and to keep Pederson company on the bench I'd put Bentley next to him. We cannot afford too many lightweights in the team for away games.
  3. Wasn't Jay Bothroyd playing for Wolves too?
  4. You have the advantage over me cos I've not seen it but from what you are saying the ref made a mistake not Todd. So why are you so quick to blame Todd? I dont care whether the ref rescinds the card or not if as you imply Todd has made a clean tackle to prevent a certain goal then I will not join a lynching party. What exactly would you have him do?
  5. Indeed Phil. So please explain why I paid £15 for me and my lad last week and shared an embarrassing Ewood experience with about 5000 others. btw How much is it to watch Stanley?
  6. Now thats not fair if Todd's was a legal challenge. There is a suggestion that he won the ball so I shall reserve judgement until I see the incident and I suggest you do likewise ihd. Or are you interested in auditioning for the positioon of a Talksport commentator?
  7. Right my mistake cos I thought the ST plastic cards etc were the responsibility of some Austrian company. As for the concourse catering the Riverside catering SHOULD definitely be contracted out. The speed of service is awful.
  8. I've always rated Kanu. Real quality but injury prone. Todd off. Pen Gonna have real problems in centre of defence on Wed.
  9. There you go scotty. Cometh the hour, cometh the man! btw EiT we may not be Proctor & Gamble but surely we could contract out to a well respected marketing company without necessarily having to look in-house for somebody to do the job? Crikey I don't really know what TF and JW do anymore cos just about everything else has been franchised / contracted out already from ticketing and catering to the clubshop.
  10. Stanley one day in the LT and the Rovers the next bemoaning falling support. It isn't Satellite TV in Stanleys case and where Eric Whalley thinks we are going to magic up 5000 new supporters in this area God only knows. But whilst Sat broadcasts do undeniably affect BRFC to an extent it is only a visible symptom of the malady .... it isn't the root of the problem. Basically many of Joe Public are becoming bored of the recent Prem inspired trend of making football fashionable and sexy. We all know fashions come and go and the less committed camp followers are slowly but surely falling back to the level of interest they had pre Uncle Jack and leaving behind the die-hard BRFC addicts. AND There are simply and undeniably not enough of those! AND We all know that there is ony ONE answer in the long term don't we? BUT Getting people without vision to face that fact is like giving a sickly child bad tasting medicine. It's completely necessary to make them better and to grow big and strong and healthy so that they can stand on their own two feet ......... but they still try to spit it out. ........Dont YOU!
  11. Be positive. Look at it another way and he's a damned good squad player for just £800,000.
  12. Gunner Graham's certainly right about the money. Watching Reid against NZ I would suggest that Emerton is not our worst crosser of a ball. Maybe Sparky has seen a stronger case for keeping Emo given the change in emphasis of supply that our 3 new strikers might require or prefer.
  13. Wouldn't do society any harm either. BUT It would undeniably be better all round if she'd OD'd years ago Flopsy...... .........unless of course the unfortunate infant turns out in a zillion zillion to one chance to be the father of some John Connor / Neo character of the future rather than yet another druggie tea leaf / burden on the state etc. Nah ###### I'll take that chance she'd have been better brown bread years ago.
  14. Other than getting hard facts I don't really Scotty. Maybe if we got the facts we might find some marketeers amongst our members to assess the performance of the clubs marketing dept and poss propose an alternative marketing strategy. 'Whoever' needs to be good though. The guy I was speaking with complained about the lack of dynamism for his projects from within BRFC.
  15. I'm with you two. Emerton isn't the best but whenever we have Reid / Bentley on the wing I am usually glad to see Bert come on for the last 25 mins or so....... the odd thing is that when it is vice versa and Bert has been on from the start I am longing for him to be taken off and one of the other two to come on. Good and talented player who unfortunatley seems slow in thought but who may as well stay for £800,000. btw imo Hughes is playing a close season blinder with the only hiccup has been the completely unavoidable loss of Bellamy.
  16. Now don't shoot the messenger but......... Just a point to note but I was speaking with a prominant local businessman on Sunday (whose company has strong links to large international companies who are big sponsors / advertisers in most sports) who lambasted the marketing dept in no uncertain terms at BRFC as an 'absolute joke'* and that prospective advertisers and sponsors were turning away from the club as there was no way they were getting any sort of a return on their investment. Something I suggest to be a very necessary requirement for any business. He was scathing in particular of Ken Beamish (not really any suprise there then) and the fact that most of the staff were in an ex-Granada comfort zone. Nick Hall who did have some business acumen has left and the marketing dept is now bereft of any dynamism whatsoever. Evaluating the efficiency of the marketing dept (and especially in a higher profile season than normal) might be a primary and worthwhile target for BRISA to get their teeth into. Especially as the club is already finding so much difficulty in attracting income through the turnstiles.
  17. Right Lee. I'll just have to accept that Andy Neild doesn't ever visit this mb then.
  18. For his own good he should cry off injured / tell Maclaren to stuff it. Lampard and he should be vying for the same position with Gerrard currently in possession. What is this fixation with Lampard? He is well out of form that will be best cured with a swift boot up his arse.
  19. No good asking me then is it?
  20. Get this! That Andy Neild's a cheeky git! Blatant plagiarism. and from Monday 14th Match report Blackburn Rovers 5 New Zealand 0 By Andy Neild Dare I say, McCarthy actually conjures up images of Dwight Yorke when he was in his prime at Manchester United. C'mon Andy own up ......... whats your screen name?
  21. I defended Flitty there too. Hard but fair nothing worse. Flitcroft played the ball first by a mile. The fact that Soltvedt was already a foot in the the air and screaming like a stuck pig went heavily against Flitty that evening.
  22. Me too. I defended (the completely innocent) Todd to the hilt after the Van Persie witchhunt. I also pointed out that there were extenuating circumstances when he had just been studded in the groin immediately before he kicked Dugarry, and stamped on by Reid before similar retaliation against Spurs. Also I rate him more than most on here as a defender. But yesterdays action whether he connected with the Kiwi's eye or not was just plain stupidity (and could never be described as a heat of the moment red mist)... as was his very public spat with Hughes.
  23. Scotty........You certainly carry a grudge don't you cock?
  24. Technical innovations eh? Well nobody has mentioned the new ball yet so I will......... its crap! The pattern design is horrible and somehow it just doesn't 'sound' right. Anybody else notice this?
  25. Only at a push with Sav and Reid on either side playing 'minders' and ceretainly not with Tugay in the team. Bentley undobtedly has some nice touches but he is shrugged off the ball far too easily. On the other hand and although he was not on long and basically 'did nowt' I was quite pleased with Jeffers showing. Nobodies mentioned him but he displayed good movement and pace and he looks to have a great first touch. It can surely only be his head that need improving. I predict he will be the new Egil for straying continually offside but if we can learn to free him quickly he could suprise a few of his detracters. 4th choice benchman Kuqi was awful on the ball again but will always bring hard running and disrupt defences for the last 20 mins of any match.
