Does any sense of perspective exist at admin level? Ben Thatcher's only got a 6 week ban from his club!
-
I'd agree with that. Eh? Cowardly.... Spineless? Where have you formed that nonsense from? Oh btw Nelsens injured and no one appears to know for how long.

Even at St's working out at £11 a match I'd wager we wouldn't sell more than 20,000! Take the unemployed or people with exceptional financial commitments out of the equation people either support the Rovers enough to go or they don't and thats that! Sky offers better viewing in nearly all sports. It's killed off my going to the Open Golf or travelling abroad to watch England play. Cricket is miles better on tele as is racing tennis etc etc. How many times do we at the ground ring somebody up to find out about major decisions? Sunday's pen incident was one such example ffs! Sky gives better coverage than being at Ewood in person so if it was down to anything other than ingrained dogged heartfelt support of the deepest kind with a bit of social chucked in then nobody would go to Ewood at all. There really IS only one long term solution. -

Indeed cos by 1996 Shearer had shaken Uncle Jacks hand (as Keane had shaken Kenny's a year earlier ), told him he was definitely staying and then fcukd off to Newcastle a day or two later! Just hired hands the lot of em. -
Too harsh Gav. I cannot rem him ever carrying and displaying a bad attitude on the pitch.

And they've got to drive to another bloody town! aggyblue you do not appear to know when you are well off. How would you go on supporting any of the other teams in the Prem? It's an increasingly common attitude I find in always looking for someone else to sub your lifestyle. -

Don't be so rude. I might suggest that you should stick to sledging and catching fish through ice holes...... at least that's something that you WILL know far more about than I. -

Henry Winter in the Telegraph doesn't share your opinion Rev. Mind you even I thought he was writing with blue tinted glasses. How many other players can claim to be able to do that either? -

I think it might just be a case of 'touche'. Krislu read the second post down from the top of this page. You need to think things through a little more. -
Course they would Krislu. A few days to the deadline and few alternatives on the market. I can think the two favourites for his services both have good bargaining chips Pompey have got off to a flyer and are awash with money so arry will get as much as he needs whilst City need to swap Mills. I cannot condone his spats but Todds been a good buy and given us good service in the time he's been here imo and people should not be so quick to slate him.

And now Pompey have slaughtered Boro 4-0 at the Riverside! Just our luck to play the early running form teams , but it puts into clearer perspective our results so far. -

Have you forgotten that our 2 central players were up against something in the region of £80-100m worth of talent in the form of Ballack, Lampard, Essien and Makelele? I would be very suprised if those two were not under orders not to move forward but to stay 'right side' of those 4 and to leave all the attacking to the 2 wide men. -

1. OK so following that line of thought how do we market the benefits of ST's next season? Don't forget that I watch EVERY game for £21 and imo that is well cheap. 2. Anyway is it you who has traded yesterdays game for a trip to Steel city? Is the Sheff Utd ticket free? By the time you have had a few scoops, a meal and got there it will need to be. 3. I think the club shop is franchised out so any proceeds from that will not come directly to the club. -

Wait a minute! Do I detect a glimmer of logic? Don't stop there Bing, keep going with your train of thought. I think you are getting close to the reallity of our situation and the only long term solution. -

Not many about rover6 Sven failed to find one of those for years whilst apparently expecting one of his headless chickens (messrs Gerrard, Lampard and Beckham) to metamorphose into a Zidane or a Requelme. me I commented on that to my mate. I suggested that Reid must have been practising free kicks over the summer months. For once Macca? I assume you meant to type 'yet again' but it came out wrong? -

DMTP I dont care how easily Terry went to ground it was a foul and a penalty. Indisputable and stupid imo. Tackles like that are only legal in Rugby. The gripe being that that sort of thing goes on in most games with no punishment. Anyway significant points imo....... 1. Big influence was the early booking of Savage when Essian was prob the most guilty. Savage was walking on eggshells after that and his effectiveness at harrying the Chelsea midfield effectively dulled. imo The ref appeared to tell him that he was going to book him 5 mins earlier and couldn't wait to brandish the yellow no matter how unjustly. Pity that Clattenberg didn't consider booking Makele until he made it absolutely unavoidable as that would have made a similar difference to Chelseas midfield. 2. Without the dropping of Todd we might just have stopped Chelsea scoring. Hindsight is easy but Ooijer had an absolute mare. He obviously is unused to the speed of the prem and it was a taj unfair and definitely cavalier of Hughes to chuck him in the deep end against Chelsea. I dont think he would have rugby tackled Terry and I dont think the impressive Drogba would have out muscled him as he did Ooijer. Guess we'll never know now though. 3. Roberts had a poor game and it was plain the Terry had him in his pocket I would have given Jeffers the last 20 and introduced Kuqi asap after Drogba's goal. 4. What is MGP trying to do with his crosses? I played on the left wing a lot in my youth but I can honestly say that I really am baffled as to his intentions. Clear a couple or times on the wing and absolutely booted em skywards neither direction nor craft. Baffling -

A good point and one that I've made many times on here 92er and without many replies may I add. I'll bet there are more than a few going to watch us in Salzberg who watched the game in the pub today. -

Bellamy hardly played at the start of last season and Pongolle hadn't turned up either Philip so I think your view is probably more in keeping with the team's performances in the second half of the season. -

Yes it is! Tesco and Walmart are businesses that make lots of profit and have become market leaders in their respective countries simply because their marketing and selling skills are better than their rivals. Nothing wrong with learning from the best imo. Given our problems filling the ground maybe our next Chief exec should be sourced from the retail sector who is more switched onto public opinion.
