[Archived] Blackburn 2 - 0 Red Bull Salzburg

Very true. In the past we have seen many bad weekend performances from clubs that have enjoyed a good result in Europe the week befoere. Best time to play the Arsenals / MU's and Chelseas imo. -

Stand by for a record number of whingeing posts about that! Must say there were lots of different faces about before the match and at HT on the Riverside...... I had to inform 3 lots that we were the team in Blue and White halves! -

A point that I have made before about growlers in midfield with the wingers and full backs providing most of the service to the forwards. No prizes for guessing why that would be? -
[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
thenodrog replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
This is why I recommended Hughes and his team receive commission on team performance and transfer dealings. The Kuqi / Bellamy profits should provide some lucre for the managemant team to keep em both happy and alert. -
Possibly but I don't think he knows what he's smoking!

Over 20,000? I cannot see that happening Philip. But we'll all soon find out.

With far less future potential. We'd be in the sh1t if that happened.

[Archived] West Ham V Blackburn

Jan.........You forgot to include 'with a complete lack of interest in events on the pitch and football in general coupled with very little knowledge of the game'. BUT given that I'm certainly not against standing areas only pig ignorant people standing in seated areas. -
A suggestion that I've made many times to our more vociferous and opinionated exiled supporters. Unfortunately and just like the 'Team Lanky' bit.......and some fell on stony ground . I promise to just as soon as you or somebody else comes up with an alternative way of getting 40,000 in to Ewood every home game to place us on a par with proper 'big' clubs, and which would give us a sustainable income without the use of the Trust Fund to annually bale us out of the doo doo. Oh and I know a few public executions at half time for adultery or similar would do it easily but rem Brussels won't allow us to do that ....just yet.

Cos they are Lancastrians and there would be no PNE, BRFC, Clarets and Blackpool cos they would have combined. 4 Teams given 4 sides of the ground! Now that would create some atmosphere!

I didn't class that as a 'crude foul' by Lukic. AS was nudged in the back by the LUFC defender and Lukic unfortunately landed on his knee. -
A. Sorry but what would you call the 'where were they when we were sh1t' / 'part time supporters' brigade? I knop what RtH you make up a collective noun for them. B. Baiting the armchair fans is a regular pastime of mine.

Go to Burnley / Colne / Preston / Chorley / Blackpool and Kirkham and ask the kids there Simon.

In my book Neill is a hard player rather than a dirty player. And there's a world of difference in the two. -
[Archived] Middlesbrough 0 V Blackburn Rovers 1
thenodrog replied to James No. 7's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Well he needs to learn quickly. At that level the ability for defenders to concentrate fully for 90 mins is more important than actual playing ability. Saying that though Neill was the only one who could see right along the line and he should have had the gumption to see what was happening and ensured that Zurab was'nt too far to the right and effectively 'holding hands' with Oijer. -

Bit over the top that Simon given the current form of those 3 teams. -
Wonder if this trend continues whether Sky might give/sell the away teams the game to screen live but only in their own empty ground? (i.e. the Boro game screened live at Ewood last Saturday 3.00pm). Decent beer and plenty of tele's around the ground might just see the foreign channel live in the pub threat off. Just a thought....if you can't beat em then join em.

More accurately 'better players than Jason Euell will exploit'. C'mon Tris keep a sense of perspective. If by January Nelsen is still out and Henchoz is proven past it and Todd is booted out for whatever reason and one of those two gets hurt! What then? As I see it the new found parnership of Ooijer and Zurab are not out of the woods yet. Given everyone fit (and I must admit to it being very early days yet for Oijer,) and taking things at face value that pairing would still be only my 6th or 7th choice pairing at best. -
Nice to see that proper debate is replacing out of hand criticism. I thank you. As for the interesting parrallel between expanding the GB and Ireland Ryder cup team team to Europe in order to compete with the US (who were perrenial winners until 16 years or so ago) and incorporating more than one neighbouring football team to 'Team Lancashire', try comparing Abbey's posts. He downright dismisses Team Lancs but is absolutely delighted that Team Europe through amalgamation are the new Golf giants. btw Scotty I don't think that I was responsible for proposing the name Lancs Utd. But it certainly does serve the purpose at thsi stage. As for the general acceptance that change over would be slow at first with the kids being the first to accept the new concept, please rem that I did say it would need the financial and charismatic qualities of a Jack Walker.

Yeah like Savage is a good example of loyal club servant eh T4E? Should we canvas a few Brum supporters? We don't know these players as people at all and whatever Hughes is he is not a fool nor is he a weak manager so you really need to bear that in mind. Anyway every captain we have had in recent years has prob been transferred away from the club in acrimonious circumstances. Given that all the players are mercenaries and they have all come here because we offered em more money than anybody else does, and will all go just as quick as somebody offers them more does it really matter who is captain?

Lot of irrationality about it all isn't there Bellamy? Ever noticed the ease at which we all convert from supporting GB at the Olympics to England in the commonwealth games? It really is all in the mind. Ever wondered what became of the people who supported Blackburn Olympic? Did they adapt to supporting BRFC or did they simply end up waiting to die all bitter and twisted? Check it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackburn_Olympic_F.C. Note the reference to John Lewis.

I'm not..... If somebody is on low income with a young family or have recently been made redundant etc etc, I understand perfectly. I'm having a pop at the hypocritical that can well afford a ST but claim that they cant', when in fact they are in denial cos they are just simply dropping off the BRFC bandwagon. Don't forget I lived through the 60's and 70's and have seen it all before. Odd thing is that as soon as Uncle Jack turned up all the bandwagon jumpers quickly became dyed in the wool, lifelong fans once again.
