  1. Just reading the papers this morning. Is anybody happy that Steve Maclaren is England manager? His tenure will be one of the shortest ever! The FA are complete bloody buffoons aren't they? First then Wembley fiasco / disaster and now this. They should be disbanded and replaced by some other more accountable governing body. Reports too that Brooking is on the point of resigning too.
  2. It's reported today that Sam Hamman is considering changing the name of Cardiff City to Cardiff Celts in an attempt to attract support from Swansea. So if he does and it works never mind Lanky Utd how about Blackburn South End?
  3. I don't believe you. You're just trying to appear like you understand the game. My guess is it never occurred to you till I mentioned it. Full marks in your selection of who to plagiarise though! Either version would be equally applicable.
  4. Points........ 1. From the defences point of view 2 bad goals! Havn't seen a replay yet BUT where was Bert when an unmarked and STATIC Craig Bellamy stooped to head equalise on the back post from a routine corner? 2. We still cannot defend a lead. Easy to see why when we are trying to do so with MGP, Bentley and Tugay in the same midfield. These guys are creative without doubt but defensively they are hopeless. 1-0 up against Lpool with 30 mins to play and playing against the likes of Reise, Alonso and Gerrard and I would have been happy to see the midfield replaced with players along the lines of Axe (too late), Douglas (gone I know) and reid (inj I know http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_...name_page.html). In reallity what midfield growler eventually entered the fray as replacement for MGP? Paul bloody Gallagher ffs! Very little spirit of aggression and certainly with not a tackle in him! Not a totally worrying problem as such players do come cheap but I hope Hughes finds one or two come January. 3. The much lauded Clattenburg imo showed himself to be just like most refs by displaying a level of home bias. The stage should really be set for him to rise above such allegations! He booked Bentley in the first half on the strength of crowd reaction....... he was actually looking the other way when the tackle was made! I was sat behind the dug out and the scousers around us were even commenting on it. "howdafukh can he booookh de fella ffs when he wasnt even bloody luckinh ffs?" 4. I'm suprised and somewhat baffled that MH didn't take Jeffers! Especially as he's been playing well. Just as we anticipated Bellamy breaking his duck against us I'm sure that the stage was set for him to do similar for us, and I'm sure the scousers would have felt the same. Lpool play a disciplimed offside game which suits Jeffers style perfectly. From what I have seen he is good at timing his runs off the opposing ch's shoulders. 5. Overall a very good performance from players and management and a 1-1 that think we would all have taken gladly before the match. Incidentally there were masses of press cameras focused on the directors box but I can find no reason in the media for it. Anybody any idea who they were photographing? Some scouser next to me thought that it may be some potential buyer of the club.
  5. Damn! Thats a bollaxx! In hindsight it would have been a fantastic bit of business to have sold him to Arry's Pompey then wouldn't it?
  6. can you not cut and paste it? I simply can't be bothered signing up (yet) again on the official board. It's just not worth it cos I keep forgetting my name and password.
  7. What rubbish! These guys kick footballs endlessly all day and every day. Skills are not as important in this equation as attitudes, tactics and application. Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are the most skilful players I know but there are only a few like that. In Maclarens defense our most skilful player imo is Joe Cole. He's unavailable though, as was Gerrard. Yesterdays men Becks, Sol C and Owen have had to be replaced by players who as yet are not good enough and it shows. But Maclarens influence and input to their development appears to be poor and as most suspected he has not the necessary managerial nor motivational skills required at that level. His career will be ruined by this foolish appointment.
  8. Ballux! Drat, drat and double drat! I got point 3 of the bad points half wrong! I must be slipping ........
  9. Best bits the last paragraph.
  10. Just had a mental pic of all the other windows empty with bored looking women doing their nails whilst 't'looker's window is queued back to Bolton road.
  11. Bold statement FLB and one which you may regret in time. One manager and his assistant from one of those clubs might make a mistake about a player but surely not all 3! Anyway the worst case scenario is not that he leaves in Jan or June but that he gets a long term injury! He would stay till he is fit again like Le Saux and Ferguson kybosh our available finances for wages in the process and thereby stiff our chances of signing anybody as replacement!
  12. Any tatoos are awful bloody things! A frequent sign of white trailer trash imo. I must say I am a tatoo snob. I once foolishly stayed in an all inclusive hotel in Tenerife. Awful holiday, I had to wear one of those plastic tags reminiscent of hospital patients and I swear I was the only person in their without a tatoo! btw My mate (who is a member on here) had a Rovers one on his arm when he was a teenager in the army and he absolutely bloody hates it and the message that it sends out now.
  13. When did he do that Abbey?
  14. Thank you for verification of my comments drawks........ I rest my case.
  15. Why? There really is nothing more to say that we dont already know. Not you in particular bos but some of the postings on this thread are pathetically naive. Lets keep things in true perspective. 1. His intention is to move next summer for more money. Fair enough as loyalty doesn't come into football post Bosman (look it up kids). We only offered him 4 years worth of contract so ther ca be NO argument there can there? 2. Why drop him? That would be madness! We have won the last 4 games on the run and have not lost since Chelsea. Rule 1...If it aint broke dont fix it! 3. Why take the captaincy off him? If he is setting a good example on the pitch and playing his ###### off for a mega bucks new contract who cares if it isn't here? He's given us plenty of notice to find a replacement which is all anybody can ask in this day and age. All this stupid talk of loyalty is pathetic and the sign of small minded insular numpties that our education system has been re-designed to produce in large volumes over recent years Compare him to the greedy grabbing scot who went to Rangers just months after signing a new long term contract! Compare him also to that more recent scheming scottish backsliding beaver-on-his-head,cheat Ferguson! More.... how about St frickin Alan? Old big head left us in the lurch by giving no notice of his intention to leave! In fact he even told JW that he was staying 2 days before ferkin off to the Mags. Loads of instances of barstewards who 'jumped' their contract and left us in the lurch as far as finding replacements is concerned, at least he is 'LOYAL' enough to see his out in a proper manner! There really are some stupid sods on here. Behave.
  16. If 4500 can afford to travel away in Europe and spend about the price of a season ticket on just one trip then I hardly think £30 and a 10 mile drive o'er tops is a problem. Bloody hell eit! BRFC drop the price by a tenner and you can justify a 12000 mile round trip? Any more of this new found, highly contagious spirit and Mr Lar de Dar Gunner Graham'll be getting his rattle out of the attic and turning up in't Blues bar.
  17. Toryburn? What would Chesh give for that address?
  18. Correct Flopsy. Some people on here dissing him need to mature. He has a work contract until next summer when he can then do as he pleases. Hughes wants him to stay and not be drawn away by the bright lights of big city clubs 1. because he rates him. 2. because we did not have a ready made replacement in the summer. I believe that Egyptian ch is due in January and that Oijer can play either ch / rb so if we can replace the fading Michael Gray we should be OK when and if the aussies go.
  19. So you'll be going then will you Mr Lar de dar Gunner Graham? Or is this board going to continue as your only link with BRFC? If you can't go, then never mind a cheque for £15 will suffice if your resolve is as strong as your protestations toward me. Given your age I would have thought you would have had more oil in your lamp than to act like a premature ejaculation schoolboy. I said 'caution required' and imo it bloody well is! You obviously know sweet FA about the current mood and the attitudes of the supporters in this town, both active and lapsed. Imo any increase in attendances will last until the next bad spell / relegation tussle / relegation and then what do we do reduce prices yet again?
  20. All this debate could easily be taking place on the Referees own 'Messageboard'.... if they have one, and just serves to illustrate how stupid the new rule is and how impossible it is to implement with any consistency. Rem they have just a few seconds to think about the situation.
  21. Prob be incredibly pc to dig up that bloody awful orange kit that even when brand new looked like it had been used for 10 years non stop down at Pleasi playing fields by the Toll Bar. Did I not like orange.
  22. Surely the money that we are and will be receiving from the TV deals should be enough to ensure that NO Fizzy Pop club could afford to nick our staff and especially when we are currently enjoying a renaissance in our fortunes? I cannot imagine such disruption EVER being allowed to happen at Chelsea, MU, Lpool, Arsenal etc. also 1. What happens if Bowen turns out to be the power behind the throne? We could turn out to be losing our next bright young manager should MH get enticed away. 2. What happens if he takes Eddie Niedswicki with him?
  23. It'll be interesting but commercially dangerous. I can rem people grumbling and citing the walk on £10 tickets of a few years back as their reason for not buying season tickets. Caution required. One thing has to be applauded ... the club has woken up to the situation and is trying damned hard for the people of the town. I just hope it isn't rammed right back down their throats.
  24. Well I have had a go sparky so now you try. But....If our attendances were examined along with all those since the war our gates in the 90's would be seen as a temporary 'spike' on the graph as a result of the Walker factor and not as a norm. Lets wait to see what Macca comes up with tonight.
  25. There wont be many tckts. Capacity 18000 I believe. If I can't go then maybe £100+ to a Blackburn backslider from some pub will provide some comfort.
