  1. One man does not make a team but today illustrated (to waggy's horror no doubt) Savages value to BRFC. Just another point..... why can we not play 2 decent halves of football together . Recently (Liverpool excepted) we only start after half time....... So just what the flerks that all about?
  2. I wish we had their hinterland. Lapsed Burnley fans can be found down to Clitheroe in the north, Bury in the south and right across to Bradford in the east. Their exploits in the 50's and 60's provided them with most of the support in towns like Bacup, Colne, Nelson, Skipton, Keighley, Barnoldswick, Todmorden etc. Unfortunately for them these supporters are dying off and many of their kids inevitably support Man U. Teenagers dont suffer losers willingly do they?
  3. Singing debate. The last refuge of the defeated. Does anybody really care? Opponants can outsing us anytime for me as long as we get the 3 points ... and we didn't.
  4. Ingleby's complaining that Burnley are losing £30,000- £40,000 per week. Said in the Radio Lancs interview that the board would discuss reducing ticket prices. Those two statements do not belong together.
  5. No the girl with long dark hair.
  6. Bit churlish that Macca. Sams been doing great for Bolton for many years now and needs a bit more credit than you give him.
  7. Todd's agent revealed that he was getting stale at Blackburn of that bung show, Hughes obviously wants him to know what getting stale really means.
  8. Indeed they do, Can't argue with that for sure but those Poles were real puffs weren't they? The slightest contact and more often than not NO CONTACT had em rolling around like stuck pigs trying for all their worth to get opponants sent off. Cheats of the worst kind.
  9. Would he have questioned them to his mother or grandmother in the exact same way? Mind you he's a scouse git so I guess the answer is probably yes.
  10. Ingleby has been appealing for Burnley fans to shell out their £17-£20 to go down and support theteam v PNE. Kinda makes our £15 for our Prem fixture with Notlob and our Cup game with Chelsea seem really cheap doesn't it? Maybe if we use Sky dosh to maintain £10 and £15 ticket offers in the long term we will woo the walk on fans from both and drain the very life out of our neighbours. I've said many times in the past that BRFC needs all our close neighbours to be in the doo doo to allow for us to profit and grow.
  11. Eh? Then why on earth did you not move nearer to the back? Loads of dry seats with better views of the match! Heaven helps them that help themselves eddie.
  12. Things are looking up........The one that sorted me out with ticketts was an attractive brunette!
  13. Game of 2 halves for McEverly. Scared rabbit in headlights for the first and then having Robben in his arse pocket for the second. Despite and against my earlier judgements Bentley is really maturing into a big player for us. A bit more robust in the tackle and he'll be a real player. Peter needs blooding and should replace Pederson more often and far sooner. Provided a significant threat when he came on. Gallagher hasn't got enough to offer to be considered and worst of all when he does make an appearence he seems uninterested and lazy.
  14. Alternatively...... £15 per ticket, a chance to see our teampitted against the best team in the country along with their household name superstar players (congrats due to both managers for playing strong teams), the euphoria of our recent form, a cup competition that we have a superb recent record in and it appears to me to be a damned p1sspoor do. Thanks to all the stayaways for rubbing the noses deep in the doo doo of 1. the players, 2. the team management and 3. most of all the directors, some of who must have argued long and hard to get ticket prices reduced. No doubt their be a great wailing, gnashing of teeth a renting of clothing when Mark Hughes / Benni / Nonda etc all ferk off to teams with more committed support and obviously more POTENTIAL! Question for all............ If Jack Walker were alive today could anybody blame him if he just simply shrugged his shoulders and walked away from the club? It really is dying on it's feet. Debate
  15. As long as all the windows are open then it's tough and all part and parcel of our recent success and the cheap ticket policy. I understand that the comp system is rather tardy when people want 3 lots of tickets in various areas of the ground. Yesterday it must have taken me 15 mins to get 14 tickets for the next 3 cup games. btw Not the girls fault... she was lovely! BRFC really can do no right for some folk can they?
  16. Apart from wanting to kick EHD's face in I've no problems with any of that. You really are doing well Preston white. But imo you are riding your luck cos if the FA had ever managed to get their heads from up their arses last January then Allardyce should be managing England now and you really would be in freefall.
  17. No doubt that that's the version that he gave to the police and medics. Must admit our crew consumed enough beer and vodka to poleaxe a grizzly bear but none of us managed such a feat of bravado / stupidity*. Delete as applicable.
  18. Your point just illustrates what I have been saying. What would be the potential of BRFC if they could command the potential support enjoyed by some of the above clubs? I choose the term 'potential support' cos that is something that BRFC will NEVER have. I'll tell you what 1864 when BRFC end up back in the lower divisions, unable to pay the milk bill and playing in front of 6500 again, just how many of the currently highly indignant 'I wouldn't go anymore if the merged with 'a n other' club cos I'm a true fan' brigade will have found other things to do on Sat afternoons? How many will come from afar (e.g. Manchester?) to attend? How many of our kids will be traipsing about in MU merchandise? Don't forget I've seen all this once. Will you still be cheering em on from the terraces? We have aprox 18000 fans now but they are not to be relied on if the producy quality drops I can assure you. 5-8000 from a town full of whites was the norm. With current economics and demographics I cannot see us surviving another spell like that thats for sure. There is no denying that negotiating from a position of weakness is a mugs game, any initiatives need to be driven from a period of relative strength. Anyway can we have your long term plan for BRFC along the lines of the stipulations that I have put on Colin, Gav and Scotty? (Other than simply waiting for some alternatively agenda'd Russky to buy the club of course.)
  19. Dont rem many stopping Julian Dick's pens. Great technique he had......Run up, keep your head over the ball and twatt it as hard as you can! Goalers never ever save those they can only occasionally get hit by them. It really does work best imo.
  20. Whhhoooooooo get that.......... Tough talk from the boards regular bullyboy street fighting man! Careful you'll have Col and Gav coming over all cow eyed at your masterful put downs of me. Tell you what Steven bloody Seigal ........ same question to you. Lets have your alternative suggestions for 1. taking professional football in this area forward. 2. giving us a real chance to compete for the title every season again. 3. to provide regular Champions League football. 4. and for the chance to stop being a bloody small arsed small town feeder club and having the media take the p1ss regularly, and continually lose our best managers and players to the proper BIG clubs. We are cock a hoop right now and rightly so but at the present rate of progress MH will be lured away before too long and if you cannot see that or are happy with it to happen you are deluding yourself. It's like waiting for the Sword of Damocles to fall and for us one day soon the thread will snap. Like it or not we have not the long term resources or staying power of the likes of such perrrenial 2nd Div luminaries like Sheff Wed, Derby, Forest, Brum, Wolves, Leicester, Leeds, Sunderland etc. Jack Walker's wealth took all that angst away once albeit for half a dozen short years (and has provided a more than useful buffer since). But I for one want it back, preferably and necessarily on a true and sound businesslike footing. And if you also say that you would rather watch BRFC in the Lancashire combination then I trust you will be good enough to resign from this board forthwith also."
  21. Gotta say I went today for 14 tckts for the next 3 cup games. Not only stunning to look at but the girl behind the screen could not have been politer, pleasenter or more helpful. Odd thing is that she had a lovely accent that pointed to a public school education! Are they paying them more nowadays? btw the lot came to £110.
  22. £15 a ticket........ somethings got to give I suppose. They will prob have to re-locate the ticket office to Delhi.
  23. Can't think many would have staked much of their hard earned on a 4-0 bet. Our CL representatives down the road Lpool didn't suss em and Sam n' Phil wouldn't who care either with another 15m in the bank.
