  1. An excellent post Nayef. I can just see MU and the Glasers queuing up to replace the old RFW with a man who has just relegated a club under his charge. So what is the concensus? 1. We need to have less pride in our performance and go to 4-5-1 dogs of war away from home. 2. Jeffers to replace Nonda. 3. Gallagher is lower league material without any doubt. He possesses a modicum of skill but a serious lack of application / heart / aggression. 4. Bentley has clearly improved but is still far too lightweight. 5. Motivation is what is lacking most rather than talent. 6. Injuries to some of our 'big' players is finding the depth of quality in our squad depth out. 7. Although it was right for them to move on Dickov and Kuqi contributed more to the team than many on here gave em credit for. So.......... Nothing really that I have not been banging on about since the New Zealand game in fact!
  2. ######. Thats monhs ago. More likely to be caused by strange and inexplicable turns when shying away from goal........ and also possibly having to continually train on cold wet monday mornings at Brockhall with his nob out!
  3. They are (or certainly Bennis is) but unfortunately playing for BRFC on a winters night against a team fighting for it's Prem life does not motivate them.
  4. Williams and his expert marketing team need to ponder what Jack Walker would have made of the situation at the club shop. I cannot imagine that he would have been at all happy with it.
  5. Sounds like we defended badly, made park football amateurish mistakes at the back and had a non existent strike force. Not a good recipe and so similar to Boro this time last year. I wonder what that result will mean come May? Just how does a manager motivate this lot from such a limited squad?
  6. Ooops! Sorry but I thought he was still warming the bench at Barca. Strange cos family matters aside I thought somebody in the Prem would have been able to tap him and outbid some Swedish outfit.
  7. BRFC being a soft touch and out muscled and out fought and out efforted(?) written all over this one. Charlton will be wound up to the top for thsi match so for the first 60 mins I'd drop one of the two black pearls and replace him with Bentley behind the striker but as the attack supporting point of central midfield, put Peter on the left wing and Gamst on the RW with the Axe and Sav as midfield growlers to draw their fire. 65 mins and depending on the situation of the game of course return to 4-4-2 with Tugay and the dropped forward / Jeffers being introduced to the game. Easy innit.............. from a keyboard.
  8. You're young right? Anyway I guess that we'll at least take more supporters than Fulham brought here on the basis that not many southerners work in Blackburn do they?
  9. Did you notice Emerton (who had a good game btw) dashing down the right wing near the end? He did his old trick yet again....... he got his shoulder past the defender and with a strong surge across the defender would have been in the area and completely clear on goal.............. and then he turned around again! His prediliction to doing that beggars belief, he has displayed that particular failing time and again since he came from Feyenoord. The sooner Hughes makes a rule where every time Emerton does that during a match he has to train all the next day with his nob out the better!
  10. Quote Le Chuck...... "The problem Hughes now faces is what does he consider Bentley's primary position? He's at an age now where that needs to be decided as soon as possible, if he switches between right midfield and holding midfield he'll probably become a useful squad player without mastering a specific role. Personally I see a brighter future for him in the Tugay role, he has all the basics you need to play there. He'll obviously need to learn the defensive side of it more, but learning when to move to intercept passes etc would could with time (as indeed they did with Tugay). His lack of real pace will always hold him back on the wing I feel, he'd always need an overlapping full-back to be able to cause problems from out there." It's a quandary then cos his lack of strength in the tackle and all round robustness is against him playing in midfield at the very top level. I would certainly not like to see him partnering Tugay there thats for sure. Despite my initial misgivings I'm pleased to say that he has come on a long way and the coaching team have worked wonders with him. His skill is unqestionable but his pace and physical strength are lacking. He might toughen up but only time will tell.
  11. Now I might be completely wrong here but I'd wager if a straw poll was carried out next home match 90% of BRFC supporters would not have heard of BRISA nor know what the acronym stands for. Maybe more momentum would be gained if a monthly newsletter / fanzine was published and sold on matchdays to inform the ordinary fan of BRISA's progress and offer inside knowledge of the club etc. btw This is meant as a comment and not as a criticism as anybody who unselfishly gives up their spare time for such an unprofitable cause only deserves praise in my book.
  12. I can't see that. If Hughes hands were that tied MGP's broken rib had given him a great excuse to rest him.
  13. Incentivise fans? How can you possibly comment on that? Anyway no matter how cheap you make a ticket a decent away day will cost between £50-£100. Please compare that cost to a lie in and half a dozen pints in the pub. Also now that Sat TV provides full match coverage anybody walking into a pub late on Sat after the usual nightmare journey home was once treated like an all conquering hero but now is frequently the object of derision and accused of being insane. Oh and it's not like we win many either.
  14. 2 significant errors BEB. 1. You quoted my post not mcmc1875's. 2. Prawn sandwiches? My ST's on the bloody Riverside ffs! Where the service is so slow that it's virtually impossible to get a piggin pie during the half time interval. btw despite frequent mentions over the years this sad situation has never been addressed by the mgment. imo for what it's worth the CE should view at least one game from every stand during each season to pick up on the fans eye view.
  15. Hear hear. The fact that so many people think that it is the club shop connect the abysmal tatt on sale with the club. Without doubt it gives a real downmarket slant on the club. The club should def have kept some degree of control. btw the shop is contracted out, the catering is contracted out too and there are probably many more instances of tasks being contracted out that were once done in-house. There is so much contracted out that Messrs Williams and Finn must be picking fluff out of their navals whilst blowing on their tea most days. So does anybody know how much the wage bill of admin and background staff has been reduced in recent years given the obvious reduction in work commitment?
  16. btw Have you just got up John? You appear to have missed the intentional irony and humour. Please try to keep up. btw 2 Point of order there. The term cretinous is not nice. Look it up.
  17. Maybe but also apply it to the rule makers or meddling rule CHANGERS as they should be referred to. Tugays sending off had nothing to do with intention, serious foul play, dangerous play etc etc. Those more justifiable terms have been superceded by some stupid (although apparently flexible dependent on who is involved ) 'Last man' ruling. Maybe it would make em realise things like .......... The single biggest fauly with todays rules is that the term 'unintentional' has been reduced to meaning sweet FA. 1. it is impossible to run, jump and play with ones arms firmly held to ones sides. 2. Trailing legs a la Tugay and Neill (v Carragher) tucked under the player making the tackle cannot be taken off and left at the side of the pitch. (the late Derek Dooley excepted). 3. People can frequently go to ground without being fouled simply to earn advantage. 4. Handball is not handball if it is inadvertant and if the hand has not moved but rather been hit by a fast moving ball. Neither is handball handball if the 'offending' player is looking away. etc etc
  18. Ooops and here's me assuming that posts bore some relevence to the threads title. My mistake.
  19. and No Tugay, no Brad, no Bennie, in fact no international players whatsoever, no famous opponents, no media coverage, no superb stadium etc etc sorry but my last word on that subject..........NO piggin way.
  20. Replacement? OK ..... but have you considered in which position jp10?
  21. To summarise, the town and the stay aways are taking the p1ss out of Jack Walkers legacy and that's that! How they reconcile themselves with that knowledge I do not know. No matter what anybody says no one will convince me that the price of a tckt is more of a factor than the listless apathetic disinterest that is spreading like a disease. Does nobody believe me when I said that this is simply history repeating itself? Rem I've seen all this before and heard / read all the same pathetic but apathetic stuff before in the 60's. And we all know what happened next don't we? There is only one solution no matter how unpalatable to some it may be. And you think that those measures will ensure gate improvements? I'm sorry that I have to do this to you ihb but ...... but at least you are bothered enough about it to offer suggestions.
  22. Q. Whats the difference between Kuqi and Amoruso? A. Everybody took the p1ss out of one whilst one took the p1ss out of everyone!
