Might have guessed that you would appear. Found a new patsy to do what you never could without bleating to admin Macca? Shame you reverted to type, we had just started seeing eye to eye on certain issues. Oh well never mind. btw Seasons greetings and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

[Archived] Emerton At Rb

Have you forgotten that we won the Prem with Henning Berg frequently at right back? -
Missed the first half but imo Neill was OK today. This might sound odd and a word of warning to Neill (if he needs one that is) BUT I must say that whilst our team will be weaker without him I don't think that Liverpools will be any stronger with him!..... If you can work that out. imo the only reasons Benitez will want him are.... 1. As a 'cheap' utility defender who can play in any position along the back line and offer him formation options during a game. 2. If Riise or Carragher etc etc are coming to the end of their contracts. I noticed in his TV interview that Neill did say that with him coming to the end of his contract that any future decision was with BRFC. Obvious implication there that if we pay him to stay then he will. I make no further comment on that last sentence.

[Archived] Emerton At Rb

Dunno if I'm a party pooper but whilst Emerton has done well at RB his weaknesses worry me greatly. 1. He does NOT have that basic bloody minded defensive mentality. and 2. His aireal ability is absolutely p1ss poor! Credit to Brett he has certainly looked better attacking from deep and his work rate cannot be faulted at all ..... but any manager worth his salt will be telling his right winger / right back to cross deep over the both centre halves heads to the back stick where any half arsed centre forward with decent heading ability can pull back to and will have an absolute field day! Brett will not even attempt to challenge in the air! When other teams adopt that tactic the full back has to play more like a centre half and come forward into the middle compete and attack the ball in the air. A talent that I have not seen in Brett Emertons repertoire. -
Looks like it Gunner. btw isn't commenting on the latter your chosen subject? More taxation of the working class than ever before = Less disposable income = less money to spend on entertainment = lower gates at BRFC. Surely the facts suggest that I cannot be barking up the wrong tree?
-
He's not bloody good enough for God's sake! Gally is no way Prem quality and is a bit part player like Douglas, Stead and Tiny that we need to replace. Surely this must even be obvious to his bloody mother ffs! I rem loads of people defending those other 3 (God only knows why! ) and saying that they haven't had a chance at Ewood.... well now they have moved on and they have now been proven crap beyond doubt but still we have a shed load of numpties choosing misplaced sentimentality over clear thought! Is there something difficult in simply basing opinion on the evidence of ones own eyes?
-
ihb................. are you there or are you happy to let your silence validate my point? Obviously no one thinks that our collectively reduced spending power left after Brown has taken his pound of flesh (and more) is a factor. A deafening but decidedly odd silence imo.

This will be a huge factor in crowds falling away compared to a few short years ago. http://money.aol.co.uk/tax/income-tax-bill...223040609990001 Mind you I hardly expect any of our red brigade in the moderating team to agree with me.

[Archived] Should Dunny Have Come Home?

Perrenial query in my mind about DD. Why would a fabulously wealthy prem footballer been seen dead out at night in Blackburn? It's chock full of low life numpties. .......... or is there a clue there? -
I doubt it stu..... after all he could have a great time chucking up 5 pints and p1ssing away another 5 for that much!
-
Not really. I just want to hear ihb's response. He obviously doesn't care enough about brfc so therefore imo he could not oppose a 're-alignment' of local football to ensure future progress in making top level football in Lancashire a 'norm' rather than a flash in the pan.
-
Precisely and well put. But you are p1ssing into the wind cos these numpties (and I was talking to one such last night) have the intelligence of an amoeba and shorter memories than a gold fish. btw are you still helping to fund brfc Philip? BING DID YOU GRASP THE MIDDLE BIT? I (and most ST holders) AM PAYING IN THE REGION OF £20 FOR THE LIVERPOOL GAME!!! DO YOU CONSIDER THAT TO BE AFFORDABLE OR NOT? DO YOU THINK THAT IT SHOULD BE CHEAPER FOR PREM LEAGUE FOOTBALL? Sorry for shouting but you seem to be cocking a deaf un to the truth and I am bloody sick of continually hearing this £30+ figure trotted out all the time by armchair/barstool apologists who have simply 'gone off' brfc (cos they were never really fully 'on' brfc in the first place if the truth is known) spreading stupid half truths about the issue. And before you have a rant about the above I confess that I too will prob not attend certain sporting events e.g. 1st class cricket, golf, darts, tennis for the simple reason that tv coverage is miles better than spectating from the sides. Whilst I enjoy the above sports to varying degrees they have never been 'in my blood'. And talk about ticket prices / overpaid players / bad refereeing all you like but THAT is the crux of this issue. And one that so few will admit.
-
And not least the Lpool supporters.
-
No Aggy....... the biter bit is that at the real end of the day there won't be a club! ihb will recant the good old days of Shearer and sutton and a top Prem club called BRFC to his grandchildren with misty eyed nostalgia whilst completely absolving himself of any blame for their demise. Just for the record ihb do you agree or disagree with the 'Team Lancashire' principle of merging with our neighbours to increase our supporter base to a level that will ensure long term survival?
-
We would be daft doing that if the problem is not a problem at all i.e. if he is NOT going to Liverpool. If ever there is a poll started on here for whether Neill should have been captain these past months is it possible that a column be included for the age of the poster? I think the average age of the Lucas detractors could well be about 12! ............... Rev and Jim excepted of course!
-
We already do! It's called the press box and it's never full.
-
In a nutshell.......... I usually judge a player on whether I would prefer to play against him before others. On the evidence of my own eyes I would, much prefer to be asked to mark Nonda than Jeffers. Simple as.
-
I can just imagine the court cases that such a move would spawn. 'My clients late son / husband / partner /was just an occasional user until the government gave him free heroin which he was not used to and led him to the hopeless addiction that finally killed him when the car that he was driving whilst under the influence of the aformentioned drug crashed at high speed into the back of the school bus at the level crossing and pushing it into the way of the passenger express train causing it to leave the tracks at 150mph'.......

I've got to admit that a 7 year old all 3ft tall calling him Tiny does carry some humour. -
Say what you like Rev but imo that idiocy is as much affecting the falling crowd situation as anything else. I've said many times that sendings off must be avoided at all costs. Cheating the punters of a fair contest leaves a sour taste in the mouth whether home or away and needs to be avoided as much as possible. (I still haven't gone away as much since Jason Wilcox got sent off at Forest! ). Imo we also see the big club v small issue come into play here too as it's cast iron certain that players playing for the big 4 would not have been sent off for the same misdemeanouirs that our lot walked for this season. I'm afraid that I still cannot get my head around the fact that a player can be sent of for an unintentional action or collision just because he is the last man. Sendings off for serious violent conduct fine, but all minor stuff as we have seen from our lot this season would be better punished by a 'blue?' card for compulsory substitution. A player 'sent off' should get castigated from the manager, his teamates, the fans, press media the lot for letting them all down but so often nowadays we now see players receiving widespread sympathy with the anger reserved for the ref / FA / UEFA ...... and that cannot be a satisfactory or healthy situation.
-
My tip that Jeffers will be this seasons most shrewd close season signing is looking more than a little extravagant now. I still think from the little we have seen that he displays real pedigree on the pitch (second only to Benni) but for some reason he must not show much to Hughes & Co at Brockhall. Whether it is injury or temperament problems I don't know but the clock is definitely ticking now for him. We rescued him from a life in the lower divs with Coventry but it's not coming together for him as yet...... and he surely needs it to for his own good.

Tiny!?! ....... What the hell's Taylor doing in that list?
