  1. I suggest that Mokoena is better off the ball than on it..... the complete opposite of Tugay in fact! I know its stating the obvious but its not as daft as it sounds either. He's limited on the ball that is obvious but his strength is in anticipating opponents moves and being in place to close them down / break them up. Such abilities never catch the eye but like Sav his opponents in midfield will know his worth as part of a team far more than any spectators.
  2. Indeed. He's reminded me a few times of Alan Taylor ex West Ham for anybody who remebers him. He's certainly no Shearer copy thats for sure.
  3. Ahem...... Whilst I did not include shooting I actaully did give his highest marks for 1st touch, dribbling and vision all of which were employed in his goal so thats OK then innit? As for the goal it was an excellent finish without boubt but one swallow does not a summer make. There are still too many weaknesses in his overall game.
  4. Surely those simple sums are fairly obvious to anyone JBN? Worse still ........Please note that those figures do not include the massive gap in other income streams between BIG and small clubs. Cup matches, regular Champions league involvment, Sponsorship, Corporate hospitality, advertising revenue, worldwide sales of replica kits and merchandise etc might easily double Philips simple guesstimate between the likes of Arsenal and ourselves.
  5. I'll bet it'll jump a lot more in the next year or two! Prem history shows that whatever Sky etc stump up the players and their agents are lined up with their snouts in the trough to devour it all.
  6. Is that not what I just said Stu? Certainly £15 is fantastic value but even the £30 is sod all for 3 European matches.
  7. Very little ...... but then so have non ST holders in effect.
  8. Most will know that I'm not all that in favour of reducing ticket ticket prices as it devalues the product. Cat A matches are now treated with more disdain by the 'freeloaders' than they ever were before imo. What the club should do is enhance the product to make it all better value for money. Free football park n' ride special buses for a couple of hours before and after the match along the major roads for Cat A games initially might alleviate parking problems and would certainly allow for a different match day experience. Being dropped at the door could make a big difference to both club and supporters. The pre and post match beers and pies would be consumed in Ewood Park rather than in the surrounding pubs. These pubs all benefit from the Rovers home crowds but who also slap the club in the face by offering the 'couchpotatodiehardalecan' fans the matches on Sat TV. Within Ewood food and drink choice, quality, service and prices could also be reviewed for these games as could pre and post match entertainment. Ticket stubs from Cat A matches might also be used as %age discount vouchers for other matches or used to contribute to a full ST the next year. There's loads of ways which can be explored to reward the proper diehard supporters. All the club is doing now imo with these discount schemes is pandering to the whines of the less committed ones.
  9. Thank you Den. So to all you deep thinking cheap ticket brigade...... just where do BRFC go from there? Especially considering that after the european nights etc it's probably nearer £12 now.
  10. I'll second that. A done deal is a done deal and anyone with any self esteem and strength of character should always respect that.
  11. Have you not got a calculator? btw I seem to rem that Lee suggested a while back that the average revenue from ticket sales (before the latest price reductions btw) was just £13 per head. (Is that correct.... anybody?) If that is indeed the case just where do you suggest that we go from there?
  12. Lay off the 'Arroders'! 'Legends' are like hens teeth in that neck of the woods. Dunny IS without doubt a huge legend ..... but only in snuffy arrod!
  13. Posturing by Bruce and nothing else. He's blown a bundle on Dunne and he knows it. Don't forget that he is pushing hard for promotion and will have other player(s) lined up if he can find the money so that will be why his opening gambit is so excessive. It means nowt.
  14. Bolton are currently occupying a Champions League place, why should they?
  15. Created the second goal.
  16. Norms might have built a cathedral or two but Viks certainly did not!......... And it's pretty certain that they would be spinning in their grave if they ever spawned any Lar de Dar Gunner Graham concert type chappies surely?
  17. Don't really think the NormoViks were especially remembered for building cathedrals flb.
  18. Yeah right joe.... so who's going to get the ball for him then?
  19. C'mon WSR I'd wager half our team in or around Manchester. I also would seriously doubt that his child lives in Blackburn too.
  20. Joey Bartons a target for a few clubs apparently and he's valued at 5m so if that comes off Pearce will have a bob or two to spend I guess.
  21. Thanks stu. But whatever there would absolutely not have been a snowflake in hells chance of sending off MU player in the same situation would there? I bloody hate weak / bent bstard refs! Even more mystefing was not one mention of it on MoTD in the post match analysis! Just endless gushing replays of Ronaldo all but disappearing up his own arse (bloody good player on top form granted). Imagine that scenario if it had been a Manc player. It's plain bloody wrong!
  22. Carr is about the worst rb in the prem so it would not suprise me to see them have a go for Lucas Neill. If West Ham are interested too then 1. We will benefit financially from other bidders. but 2. If the cost becomes too high then some dodgy deal might be struck by one of the bidding clubs to entice him to wait until the summer when he can go for nothing. And if he is to go definitely then that would probably be the worst case scenario as his agent could influence him to easily pull a sicky to stay injury free and we would not have been able to replace him.
  23. Everybody mentions fitness but imo there is still a large question mark over Dunny's temperament and attitude. I have no prob with his ability though.
  24. Christ Almighty Fife! Just how long have you been away?
  25. Not a ref this time but what on earth was the linesman (who looked like a cross between Bela Lugosi and Edward G Robinson btw) thinking of to award a free kick for handball in the last seconds of the Charlton v Fulham game from which Fulham scored the equalizer. The lineo should not see the inside of another Prem stadium without paying for a long time. I'd have been well ticked off it it had happened against us. Quite funny to see him hiding behind Poll all the way off the pitch!
