Don't ask our lot cos we've still plenty of glory hunters. I would say eternal optimism and hope but you really need to be asking the proper supporters at the likes of Blackpool, Burnley and Rochdale etc. What keeps them going certainly mystifies me unless it is lashings of the former cos there is absolutely no hope for them.

Appeal or no appeal BRFC will have received approx 6 times more money for the people in the boxes than for any one of the people sat on the Blackburn End. Argue about the design of the ground all you like but the fact is that BRFC obviously cannot either fill those boxes with Blackburn supporters nor stipulate that the few local companies that do hire those boxes will not invite supporters from the opposing teams (that really is usually why they are hired btw). It's revenue and we are desperately short of such, we damned well need it so accept that fact and move on. If the alternative was to ban away fans from the boxes and put up the BBurn End Lower ticket prices to compensate for the loss in revenue how would that do? -

Did you know the Chinese venerate the wisdom of their old? There is much to validate such an opinion and you should 'think on'. Unfortunately (and thankfully) Fife and Sulkings have just trumped me! btw Consider this you nostalgia peddlers ......... anybody going tomorrow night must surely feel a sense of pride in our ground when the Frogs turn up. Just consider the sense of shame / embarassment we would suffer if we still were in the old Ewood? -

Look at it this way BEB, having known both it does allow me to provide informed comment and I stand by what I said. -
Who cares? It cannot be too like any of the old clubs so a completely new design that would suit jeans probably. Also it needs to show off the red rose so navy blue possibly? Certainly blue and white halves are not condusive to casual wear, other than on match days that is. Anyway its a daft question cos I keep getting told that it wont happen. Even though the way we are all going something bloody well needs to. As abbey pointed out satellite TV coverage means that even big city away fans are not bothering to travel, and they are damned important to a small club like ourselves.

What tosh! Do I miss the old ground? NO. It was fast becoming an embarrassment. Every year the capacity was being whittled down and we had no bunce to correct the situation. Yes it had a feeling as a child waiting for KO on the Darren End, zigga zagga, rattles, Aye Aye Yiy aye Else is better than Yashin, changing ends on't cinder track. But like anything else it had gone well past it's sell by date and I am hugely proud of the 3 rebuilt sides of Ewood now. The quality of work and the finishing touches ooze quality and show up the concrete crap of the likes of Pride Park, Deepdale, t'Turf and the Breezeblock no end. I remember Everton coming on our first season up chanting '###### ground' at us. How nice to see that we now make Goodison look like a shabby air raid shelter. Everything comes to an end and old Ewood's time had long passed. I'll go along with the suggestion of making the BBurn End lower terracing again but feeling nostalgia for anything else is for losers. btw I'd wager Leamington Road wit back yard door oe'r puddle was prob best of all -

Rubbish I couldn't afford it and I very much doubt Jan could. If she indeed has a large salary (btw won't most people have a 5 figure salary? ) most of it will be spoken for in other commitments . I did actually sit in one of those for the Liverpool game of 2 years ago (2-2) and actually watching football from behind glass is nowhere nearly as good as the real thing. -

1. How can it kick off when neither parties can get at each other? It's prob only a bit of banter anyway and would have been far different if we were winning 2-1 with them down to 10 men. 2. Tell you what, lets have your suggestions for filling the boxes with BRFC fans. With the pathetic support that we have we cannot afford to turn away people who will pay well over the odds for their entertainment. -

I think Sav's comments are toward the management team and maybe one or two of the directors, and should be viewed in that context. I think that the fans voted him player of the season one year didn't they? -

'Loud-mouthed'? How can anybody be deemed 'loud-mouthed' on here? It's a bloody message board you thick sod! But all those attempted insults are in your opinion only and should be taken as such, if we were face to face I'd either agree, laugh or knock your teeth down your throat and that would be for you to judge. However I am a white person, it is an unequivocal fact so why should I feel insulted by that? Surely John even you are not so stupid that you cannot see that? -

Insulting?..... yes. Why does the simple word 'black' cause you such a problem? To a professional sportsman any insult is only in the other two words surely? -

I do quite like Gallagher as a rule cos he does let the game flow. But the sending off was harsh as I am not certain that 1. any foul was committed and 2. The 'foul' was intentional. Fouls are not always intentional... rem Tugay catching the spurs lad with his trailing foot? Finally I would bet my mortgage that Terry / Ferdinand / Hypia would never have walked for the same offence. After watching Zurab, Ooijer and Henchoz all season I've got to say that Todd looked really strong when he came on -

I'd have said less than 15000 home fans today, and if you had any bunce SG would you invest in BRFC when so many of the towns inhabitants will clearly not? -

Just clicked on this thread and I'm disappointed to hear your misfortune Abbs............ And with Vinjay out of the reckoning I was expecting Jim Mk2 to be everyones first choice! -
Could you not have managed without that D-I-V-O-R-C-E Abbs? That must have cost a bit and I'm sure that with a bit of effort and lots of billing and cooeing that you two could have remained happy, content, dreamy eyed and luvved up for life. I expect there will be two solicitors happily munching your prawn sarnies most home games for the next year or two!

Can't speak for Chesh of course but I'm not particularly rich Capt..... just able to prioritise. If I consider spending more on BRFC then something else will have to suffer or be dispensed with. Just do without any of the following... 1. Sky TV. 2. 1 crap holiday 3. Regular Car change. 4. One average night in the pub every 3 weeks or so. 5. Lunch..... take a packed one to work. 6. Gym 7. Last but not least.............. CHRISTMAS! Doing without the latter would prob provide enough bunce to buy two season tickets! See how easy is it?

There is a definite link between those two comments Kamy. Watch any top striker in good form and they all do the same.
-
And if as Neil Weaver and I suspect it all makes little difference to attendance then what then? My idea?
-
Tell you what.... sod it! .... take the gates off the hinges and let anyone in. Thats the answer. Get the players to play for nothing and the jobs a gud un. I really am warming to my earlier idea of charging double or even treble and playing in front of about 8000 'nice' people. We could all then have those nice Recaro seats with heating elements built in, parking close by on the car parks, creche facilities, with nice well prepared and wholesome snacks and drinks in proper cups / glasses all served by attractive scimpily clad waitresses. Lounge suits and very smart casual only. No scruffy low lifers present in stupid Lacoste tracksuits and Burberry hats, no obscenities and intelligent conversation. With all the oiks paying a tenner, standing in the rain and bravely chanting insults at 20 opposing fans at Accy Stanley. Who needs folk who are constantly skint and cannot pay their way in life anyway? No use to BRFc or anyone else for that matter are they? It may even incentivise em into doing better at school and 'getting on' in life, instead of whingeing and sponging all the time. It'd be superb. The prospect certainly does have much merit.

You must not have seen his performance after he came on at Anfield either. If the decidedly below average Gallagher is our best hope then we are relegated already. The membership on here beggars belief at times, we have had strong support for the likes of Grabbi and Stead for goodness sake and now some would support Gallaghers elevation to 1st team. What is it with some folk that will not believe the evidence of their own eyes?
-
Eh? Scouser from the red half was she? Cos it's them that are mainly responsible for 1. Fences. 2. Banning of same. 3. All seater stadia. What sentimental tosh...... you sound like the Joe Gladwin voiced over Hovis ad from that era............ "eeeeee rife were grrrrrrand wen i wur a rad and't crogs were rubbin t'skin off me ankles" There's a piccy on that vid of some kid peering through iron bars surrounding the pitch ffs! Who the hell wants them back? You need to become aware MCM that "the only constant in life is change" Oh and finally Thatcher went in 1990, the Prem started in 1992 and successive PM's (and bitter political opponents from that time) have since risen to power and had plenty of chance to redress any perceived wrongs which she may have done to the working class heritage. And they've done sweet FA haven't they?
