[Archived] Blackburn Rovers 2 - 0. Fulham Fc
thenodrog replied to rog of the rovers's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Welcome to Ewood Park home of the new Wimbledon. Unfortunately it is plain to see that the dingles ...not that they have any room to comment........ are spot on in re-naming our Theatre of Dreams 'Deadwood Park'. anyway It's strange to start with a comment on the officials but Bennet and his assistants (on their inept performance the term linesman really is dead and buried) are comfortably the worst 3 officials that we have had all season. I hesitate to suggest bias but the evidence on display yesterday suggests as much. He could hardly wait to book Savage and I had real fears that Sav would end up with another yellow for having blond hair or similar. Also a stream of mystefying decisions followed with every one going against us is out of order. If a ref is having a 'bad un' then bad decisions should be equal. He appeared to suggest on a few occasions that our players dived when in truth and as most of the Prem managers will concur we rarely resort to such tactics. Fulham were absolutely awful and I suggest that Coleman spends 10 minutes today handwriting a sincere full page apology to each and every one of their travelling fans. As needed the rest has done us good and by rights we should have won by at least 4. It's obvious that Pederson needs resting as now his confidence appears to have been affected by his poor form. His first touch and general demeanour have hand in hand sunk to a very low ebb. Peter is an obvious replacement but he hardly set the game on fire when he came on and I think that it was his cub scout defending in the wall when he turned his back on the ball that resulted in Brad's only moment of alarm in the whole game. But a necessary boost in confidence and 3 very welcome points. Very necessary too as the mood in the camp both on the pitch and in the stands would have been suicidal if we had lost and descended into the bottom 3. -

Rip (mumble Linekar *@%%@&), Rent (hiss grrr EWOOD bloody Park now grrrr ), Rip (mumble gnashing of teeth), Tear (hiss BBC *@%*@) , Hello? Whats that sound on a bright and sunny monday morning somewhere in Lancashire? Could it be a badger foraging for a snack in the undergrowth? Or maybe a fox breaking into a hen cabin? Maybe even a grey squirrel rumaging through the attic? .....or maybe it's one of our esteemed leaders ripping up 3 BRFC season tickets in fury and rage after the BBC and BRFC displayed superb timing by openly daring to recognise and discuss Blackburns racial issues on National TV no less! Also bringing racial issues and the state of community relations between muslims and non muslims in our town into the national spotlight via it's weekly flagship football show? Whatever next eh? Perfect timing. Somehow a mental pic of that permanently angry bowler-hatted character with sussies on as invented by Kenny Everett just won't go away! -

It's crap that in actuallity though isn't it? By the 70's the players directors and management would all have been long gone. Like this crap about ticket prices now it was just another lame excuse by somebody who could no longer be arsed to go. On the flip side being 3rd Div material obviously didn't help much.

[Archived] Man United Sign Larsson

I don't think his income will alter. He'll hardly be on peanuts at Barca and isn't it normal practice for clubs to simply pay the salary the player was on at his own club? -

Obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse that MU need cover for Saha if they are serious about a title bid. The celtic game proved as much. All they need now to displace Chelsea is a midfield playmaker of real quality and experience to press Carrick for his shirt. Especially one thats local and coming to the end of his contract at his present club and to date has not been offered a new one would be perfect for em. -

I'm with the mid-terrace dweller here. 1. Sons and fathers 90% of the time are better kept seperate in work issues, disciplinary problems usually being the achilles heel of such situations. 2. Also my assumption would be that somewhere some poor bloke has missed out on a damned good career opportunity just because Williams Jnr has been appointed by a nod and a wink. 3. If Williams jnr had owt about him he should prefer to work elsewhere and prove to all that he can paddle his own canoe. 4. Quality is not hereditary otherwise...........Has Alan Shearer got a son? -

Just read this ....... 1. can we be informed of the members who want it closed? 2. If you are reluctant what about informing us of the number of them, furthermore what happens if admin receives MORE requests for it to be kept as it were than you have received to lock it Paul? 3. imo whilst the park is delightful during the day the dangers from a variety sources of taking a short cut across at night should not be underestimated. And if making people on here aware of this is a crime then I'm a criminal. -
Oh..... right.

It's obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse that LN wants to leave scotty! He keeps saying he does and refusing to sign another contract. Is that enough evidence for you? BUT he is going about it the right way by honouring his contract in a professional manner unlike so many others. And btw to all the doubters his complete lack of pace against MU in the second half showed that he was not 100% fit.

Just heard that a report recommends charging tolls to reduce traffic. Anybody old enough rem that public information message that appeared late night on BBC 1 about motorway driving? There was the dangerous weaver bird driver forever cutting up others, the chap with can-can girls always on his mind and the gormless airhead one with the birds flying around his head tweeting, with nothing on his mind and blissfully unaware of all things around him. Something about Corporation Park will now forever remind me of that information message. Must be the aviary. -
Correct.......... depending on what may have already gone on behind the scenes. Pointless and childishly bitter comment if you don't mind me saying so matey. If you really want to avoid repetitions of this then 'Team Lanky' really is the only way forward for us.

He's come here on a 4 year contract, agreed and presumably signed by both BRFC and himself, honoured it until now and appears prepared to see it out fully and then he want to move on. He has to the best of my knowledge not thrown any sulks or tantrums to get himself released any earlier so...... Just what is the problem?
-
Whilst we may be cornered a straight swop of an experienced international defender for a reserve team player is surely not the preferred option. No matter how many times I hear it I will never ever believe that particular piece of garbage! Liverpool may want to make that public knowledge for a variety of reasons but imo neither Bellamy nor more importantly his agent would ever EVER agree to that........ unless of course his agent was a lifelong Liverpool fan too!

yaeh, yeah OK ........... and don't forget the engraver , the bloke from Group 4 etc etc -
Easy peasy Simon............ Over a 4 year contract 10k pw equates to about £2m for doing nowt! Or about what 80 football supporters on average wages will earn over the same period for actually working! I guess he is quite rightly using his oppo Harry Kewell as an example. The stupid bgugers in all this are US, the fans!

Thats the finest example of 'pot and kettle' that I have ever come across. It's rare for anybody to say this I know but well done scotty. -
I've said many times that these guys are just modern day equivalent of hired guns. They want to earn as much as possible, full stop! Anybody who chooses to believe that Bellamy malarky is delusional. anyway anybody who holds different views answer me this ......... 1. Why should he stay at Blackburn? 2. Does anybody hold a grudge or think he was right or wrong for leaving Millwall to come to BRFC?

I prefer 'mature realist'. -
Sorry Billy Wright was before my time and I didn't realise that you meant 'World Cup Finals' ?
-
Oh so thats alright then is it? 'Professional manner'! Rubbish. He only apologised cos the lad is an ex-players son and he is with the brother of that ex player! Who they are should make no difference at all. The fact is that the bloke and his daughter are numpties and their attitude and aggression to people they deem as opposing supporters is reprehensible. Just more of Ewood Sparks white trailor trash imo.

Only fools would be unconcerned about our recent results in the Prem and our current position. I'm sure Hughes and Co are not in with the 'anyone else stand up and be counted' school of thought. -

We need to cultivate a sense of urgency and get the right combination up front. The current first choice front two are under achieving big time, and imo a lot of that is down to lack of effort. A lot depends on how soon and how well the injured players return. -
I've only met ES a couple of times, nice bloke and imo he is definitely not a snob. You would do well to take his opinions on this matter on board Aggy. White Trailer trash, boorish and ignorant behaviour is neither big nor clever and imo is just an all too popular form of self-defence against an admission of total inadequacy as a person.

Just looked at SAS's pics. Not many teams have seats in a different colour to their 1st team strip do they? I would have expected the seats to be red
