[Archived] Anyone Miss The Old Ewood ?

12/15?!?! Really? -
According to a few on here he should be 'rotting in the reserves' whatever that means. After scoring the winner v Nancy and setting up our equaliser yesterday with a peach of a cross they must be feeling very foolish now. (Must say I've heard it said time and again but never actually seen anybody actually rotting in the reserves. )

Good article Colin BUT recent trial suggest that he got this bit wrong didn't he? "Blackburn should reduce ticket prices by 50% - the club would still make as much money as they do now but the place would be full, they'd sell more merch, more food, more drink and the players would respond to a better atmosphere. How hard is it to realise that? It's basic business sense. We've got a crap product; we need to make it more appealing."

Just what IS going on? I know it's the season of goodwill to all men but that doesn't usually include me. -

The traits of being passionate and feisty is not bad in a footballer either.

Think it through a bit Daje........ Dunne owed GS a debt of gratitude. Souness initially 'made' Dunny by putting him in the side when Kidd showed no inclination to at all. So in fact it appears 2 managers saw flaws in Tyrone. If my memory serves me right Dunn fell out with him cos Souness played him wide and Dunn wouldn't play there for his (favourite home town / supported as a kid / never ever want to play anywhere else) club and demanded to play in the middle. With Tugay already established there as playmaker there was no chance of that position. Flitty was capt and growler so Dunny was never going to be better than him at getting a foot in and being the midfield destroyer...... he has as much graft in him as a dole queue, so really with 5.5mill dildo money on the table for a gobby kid there was only ever going to be one outcome. At 26+ maybe he would have had a point but at 21/22 he had none and I'll wager has lived to regret his character weakness. His wing days are long gone so I dare say that if fit and if Sav is prepared to drop deeper and if we sacrifice Toogs then Tyrone might fit in and play just behind the forwards but its a gamble. If he is cheap enough then he could alternate on the bench with Tugay and deputise for him after 60 mins. It might eke a bit longer out of both their careers. One positive is that the playmaker would be just behind the forwards with the ball winner playing deep a la a certain very successful team that Hughes used to play for ....... and thats maybe a point worth noting. -

Wanderers fans freely recognise that they are not the most entertaining club in the land but would not swop Sam for a gold clock. -

I am a big fan of his abilities but not his temperament nor his application and ambition. If you trawl back far enough you will see that I rated him more than Joe Cole when they were both in the U21's ( Joe Cole was entertaining without end product but at that time Dunny could slit opponents throats by scoring imp goals). Unfortunately the roles are now completely reversed. Maybe injuries played a part but imo an equal influence was Dunny's own self destruct button that made him think that he was the finished article when he was clearly not and put him on his stupid no-win collision course with our last manager. -

He is indeed Tris. No idea why but he must have something sinister on one of them. -

Something that crossed my mind too. Apart from blowing his whistle a taj too long he got most things right and was a refreshing change from the over officious egotistical prats that we get every Saturday. We used to dread foreign refs in the 60's and 70's as they were petty and taken in by time waisters and divers. Now they are well in front of our shower. The guy flashed yellow for both time wasting and diving yesterday! How refreshing was that? The 1994 WC in USA was the watershed imo, ridiculously stringent rules to accomodate a nation that doesn't bother much with football that everybody ignored once the WC was over....... except our lot who took it all in and adopted it hook line and sinker. I maybe being vindictive but it's so good to see that major tournaments usually end up with our refereeing representative making complete tossers of themselves and coming home in disgrace. -
Get a grip Oscar. Neill wasn't dissing the entire Bburn end cos it wasn't the entire BBurn end who were dissing him! He clapped the JW stand long enough didn't he? The 'brave' blackburn enders who shout undeserved insults and oaths from afar with realtive impunity know his anger was directed at them and them alone, and the rest who have the intellect to understand his stance should know that they were not the target of his ire. I'm suprised that you couldn't read it that way. Please dont go along with some sort of pathetic lynch mob / hanging party next home game. I'm sure that some of the pathetic dollopers who barrack their own player and captain will try to stir the sh1t and whip up the natives so if you want to do something worthwhile for the entire club then don't bloody well go along with them and do your best to stop it. Just a further thought......... with the transfer window opening soon what a good selling job the numpties are doing for the club to prospective players...... I don't think! Who in their right minds would come here knowing that one day it will likely be their turn? The Blackburn Enders who are responsible are about as valuable to the club and about as intelligent as the Dingles that set fire to Mullens wife in the chip shop...... and we are still laughing at those prats.

Bloody hell! Philip n' eddie agreeing with me, Tris (or aesf ) agreeing with scotty and now stuwilky backing up Blue Phil! Whats going on? This boards going down the nick faster than BRFC's support! Thank fcku that we ALL still have despising old Sulkings to fall back on. -
"the club we love" Thats a laugh! Unless I am very mistaken you didn't even bloody go on a very important night for the club but rather sat in front of your computer writing nothing but very negative remarks on the 'Nancy' thread!

That 3500 certainly seems an underestimation to me, it seemed like a lot less than a normal crowd. 1. Dunno BUT I'd wager the receipts would easily have been more. 2. The atmosphere could surely not get much worse than it was last night. With the odd echoing shout it was like being in public swimming baths for long periods.

Sorry I missed it because you incorrectly made it appear as a seperate paragraph rather than a following sentence. Odd cos although the content of your posts are complete and unadulterated twaddle your grammar is usually good.

Don't believe em. If we were interested in him than I would imagine that he would be at Brockhall for a medical or alternatively some privat hospital in some specialists consulting rooms. The only medical facilities at Ewood relevent to Dunny to be inspected is the stretcher to see if his arse will hang over the sides. -

I would imagine that quite naturally a certain other person has Sydney / Australia in his heart. Whats wrong with that? Just as Benny with SA, Gamst /Norway, Toogs / Istanbul, Brad / US, etc etc. Unfortunately we simply cannot raise a Prem team from Blackburn. Gaz your malice really is driving you up a blind alley. btw on this subject I really hope we are doing something to prevent Tugay leaving in Jan / Summer. It's all mighty quiet....... apart from the Tugay to Everton rumours that is. -
Didn't have E's when I was young and gormless.

I dont know if I can cope with you and Gunner Graham doing that on the same day.

Shearer kept schtum until it suited him and ended up leaving us in the doo doo as far as finding a suitable replacement was concerned, so did Bellamy and so did the scottish weasel. At least MH and his team have had 6 months to make enquiries and weigh up the options for replacing him. Neill has absolutely no case to answer to anybody with rational thought. -

Don't rush em DMTP they've only had 9 years to suss it out. Rome wasn't built in a day in these parts was it? -
Whilst he commands more respect from his teammates and his manager than anybody else in the squad then yes of course I do. Return to Andy Todd who has twice deserted and taken his bat and ball home before matches would you? The fans on the terraces bear no witness to the working relationship that they possess.
