  1. Petty sarcasm? Kinell Colin thats rich coming from you! Don't be bloody daft Paul! You'd be on your own with that one. My ST works out at about £20 per match but I would certainly complain if the club discounted the part time walk ons over and above their lifeline supporters. It would come under the heading of 'taking the p1ss'. I knew that already, it would have been obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse in fact. So if you have nothing to offer to this debate then shut the fcku up and stick to the ICBINF board. You are cluttering up serious debate with your irreverent crap. btw Same for all. If you have nothing constructive / imaginative / valid / beneficial to offer other than blank closed minds, intellectual sterility and continual criticism then sod off!
  2. I'm sure JW has already lined up a series of meetings in the near future with all the players agents to explain what a rip roaring success the price reducing scheme has been and to see if they will agree for their players to take an immediate large drop in their wages to accomodate implementing the reduced admission prices on a permanent basis and of course include all the ST holders next season too. Pity nobody on this mboard can use an effin calculater as well as they can use a keyboard!
  3. So to the CGBBC (Colin and Gav barnstorming brainstrust corporation) lets have your alternative suggestions for taking professional football in this area forward and giving us a chance to compete for the title again, to provide regular Champions League football, and for the chance to stop being a bloody small arsed small town feeder club and having the media take the p1ss regularly, and continually lose our best managers and players to the proper BIG clubs. And if you say that you would rather watch BRFC in the Lancashire combination then I trust you will be good enough to resign from this board forthwith.
  4. Hold hard there EiT. I guess I am one of those and I would dearly like to see the figures on here once the veneer provided by novelty has been stripped away. You opine "I reckon the club must have taken around 40% more on the gate than last year." but I assume you mean there was a 40% increase in attendance. Consider these points EiT...... 1. 13000 are ST holders and have already paid so no difference there except the prospect of BRFC having to chuck oodles of money away on that deal next season if parity is to be maintained. 2. 7000 from Bolton. If we were to continue would the attendance v the likes of Fulham, Pompey Watford etc have been anywhere near as high? The ticket:cost of travel ratio would mean the benefits would not have been as great. Also MU would fill it whatever the cost, so to discount that fixture would be chucking dosh away. Furthermore if all games were £15 the novelty would agin wear off with the same people and given time, a poor run, cold weather etc they would find another excuse to spend it in the pub. 3. 7000 from Bolton means approx 20,000 from Blackburn. We would surely expect 17000 home fans for a local derby normally so (disgracefully imo) only approx 3000 extra BRFC fans thought the cheap tickets worthwhile. . So (foolishly but to save time) leaving concessions out of the equation we have 4000 @ £30 = £120,000 whereas 7000 @ 15 is £105000. Hardly good business eh and certainly not worth the extra sales of a few pies / bovrils etc. 4. It appears our immigrant population still deem £15 to be too much so bar playing some Salim Kickaball at centre forward in boots with no socks we may just as well (do as many wise men already had anyway) and write them off now. I do not expect the finances to stack up correctly after this experiment so Prem clubs really need to look at subsidising supporters from the Sky pot if they want to provide a good TV atmosphere. Negotiations really need to be between Sky, the Prem and the clubs. over to you EiT
  5. He'd be best advised to change his name then eh SAR/Don/Oz? Seriously RtM (from one who gets regularly 'ganged up' on) it's not bad advice cos you've spewed it on here. Your credibility is shot to pieces. I'm quite prepared to believe that you prob aren't disabled either. Who will ever believe anything you write in the future? Hard lesson to learn but you need to be aware that if you are ever going to tell lies then you need a better memory than you apparently possess.
  6. The problem is Tris that many away fans who chant in bars and airports etc are just embarrassing, beer swilling, foul mouthed boorish ignorant numpties...... and sadly they are apparently proud of it! Why on earth would you expect these neanderthal's to even know diddly squat about Polish/European history? The most unbelievable event in Krakov that I heard about was some d1ckhead putting his head through a plate glass shop window for no reason. He'd tried one shop already but couldn't smash the first so he 'did' the next! Hospital visit ensued resulting in a forehead full of stitches and him being allowed to keep his X-Ray which he displayed as a 'trophy'! (Suprised the Poles didn't keep it for medical studies cos it must have revealed as much grey matter as that of an average moose). His mates think he's an all conquering hero. As for me I KNOW that he is an embarrassment to the town, a boor, an idiot and unfortunately a far too typical example of our youth. I may be accused of racism here but this dolloper is a prime example of white trailer trash. You can take a Pig out of a sty but it is still a pig!
  7. Thank you, the voice of reason.
  8. Maybe not but one could surely point a finger at the linesman........ sorry but if I use the term 'referees assistant' it makes the decision even worse. Nowadays there is a buzzer on the flag, but if they cannot see along a simple white line then they may as well have the buzzer up their arse!
  9. A question that I could find no answer to either. Fortune went and hid next to the corner flag and the ref forgot him completely. 1. The best team lost, but the strongest i.e. most professional and most determined won through a goal scored unforgivably from a free header from a corner. (2 points lost at Anfield for the self same reason?!?) 2. The result will glean no argument from me cos we had enough chances to have won 2 games. 3. Penalties?!? Pathetic offering from two of our most lauded strikers. Pathetic in thier weakness! Like golf and boxing there really is no power to be had when the bodyweight is ON the back foot. For seasoned professional footballers just how bloody amateurish were our efforts at converting pens today? btw admin is it possible to have a seperate thread for actual attendees rather than having to waste time reading the skewed opinions of our more 'distant friends'?
  10. JW wasn't anywhere near full. But Notlob brought plenty though, they outsung and outcheered us through the match and it prob helped inspire their players enough to get a good result. How does that equate with the cheapo ticket idyll guys?
  11. Very interesting take on future fans by Wigan. and look what I found in the replies! Metatone October 22, 2006 08:18 AM Aylesbury/gbr This isn't a criticism of Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan, they've all acheived great things as clubs, but the North West is basically oversaturated with Premiership football. That is strong testament to the football culture of the area, but there are too many teams for the population. The big cities of Liverpool and Manchester have two teams each, which leaves Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn scrapping over "people who live North of Manchester" and it's just not enough people to keep three teams on a sound economic footing. If one were to prognosticate (always dangerous) then you'd expect the "Yorkshire cycle" to repeat here. For example in the period around 98-99-00, Yorkshire had three teams generally hanging around, with Leeds doing fairly well at the time and Barnsley, Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed, Bradford all on the cusp. (One went up, one went down, typically.) Financially/economically however you'd be struggling to argue that the region was producing enough fan income to support more than 1.5 clubs at the top level. And eventually the economics hit home. Currently there is just Sheff Utd making up the numbers. It may take a while, because of the disparity in TV revenue between the PL and the Championship, but you'd have to expect the "North of Manchester clubs" to go down to two in number. Strangely enough, I can see the trigger for that being a revival at Preston. Once you have 4 "North of Manchester" clubs all fighting over the fan base the economics would really start to bite. Of course, this assumes that Man City don't mismanage them selves out of the top flight in the meantime.
  12. eh? Are you for real? Try to employ logic and retain a sense of perspective jimmy. One of my ancestors* perished at Rorke's Drift! I dare say he would'nt have minded at all if all them damned racist Zulu's had just stuck to name calling from distance! *bit of journalistic licence employed. Me neither (speaking as both Ginger and 'stout'! ) and I'd much prefer a bit of sledging to his studs raking down my shins. Storm in a teacup and not worth bothering about. Most on here will share your opinion rock steady, but on this occasion and somewhat unusually SAR made a valid point.
  13. Well his missus might chuck in a few spuds I spose. Other than that yes, why?
  14. Cue.........People moaning then about supporting BRFC since childhood and not being able to get a ticket cos of all t' Johnny-cum-lately's! Anyway it's all rubbish this initiative! I'm not looking forward to a full house at all ........... parking the car will be absolutly sh1t. Angry and indignant local residents with trumped up, self righteous councillors in tow will be complaining about parking for months from now, and the traffic wardens / local plod will be impatiently sharpening their pencils for a ticket fest as we speak! £30 a ticket with gates of 15000 is a far more attractive option imo!
  15. Only disappointment was Wisla's tendency to dive everytime there was any contact whatsoever. Poor do that! Nice to see that dropping to the ground and playing hurt contributed to our winner! If the silly bgugger at ch had not lead motionless in the pen area and tried to get a free kick he might well have prevented the goal. Tough shitski matey! No but I will. Benny will fly home VIP to collect his Ferrari from the airport, go home to his £5m pad and ex model wife whilst reckoning up that this weeks work will have earned him about 40 grand whilst his Polish antagonist will go home to his tiny flat for a tea of cabbage and beetroot. Choose whichever is most applicable Benni...........'Sticks and stones', 'turn the other cheek' or 'he who laughs last laughs longest'.
  16. Possibly but scrapping and contesting every loose ball ball is the way to take all 3 points. We are not living up to our hard earned reputation as dogs of war! We'll bloody well lose it to Bolton at this rate!
  17. If he'd asked nicely he could have done that here.
  18. Exactly and a point I made here.........
  19. Thats an esay one. More money on both counts! Last real chance for him and his agent to earn a BIG megabucks contract. Otherwise there is no reason to move to either whatsoever...... alternatively if he has always wanted to play for his childhood heroes I guess we could never stand in his way if the mighty Sydney Olympic came a'courting!
  20. I am sure that you are old enough (and some) to remember the barcodes getting 16000 average in 1981 before KK's first time there and then again in 1991 Jim? Best fans in the land?
  21. AS I said originally Emerton has to hold his hand up for that. (How could he have misjudged the flight of the ball so much? He and Oijer were still running forward when it went over their heads). Nevertheless and I dont know why this is but the golden rule was ignored again, somebody stationed on the back post could have easily blocked it!
  22. Ability yes influence no. I cannot readily think of any Prem manager that would prefer Dunn to Savage given both their records over the last 3 years. As for Gallagher playing centre mid 'if things got desperate'...... they'd have to get downright bloody catastrophic for that never mind desperate.
  23. errr now I might be a bit old fashioned here but shouldn't that be your job Hannah?
  24. Surely thats a moan in itself Krislu.
