  1. Reports seem to suggest we haven't even agreed a fee so until we do it won't be getting any closer either. I still don't see a Universe in which we're paying £2m for a keeper in the current situation myself.
  2. So from what has been said, am I right in thinking that a full report of the meeting with Pasha will be relayed on here - and if so when can we expect it, not to pressure anyone time wise, but just so we know.
  3. Pleased for the player on a personal level if he gets a gig at a similar level after the way we messed him about. Then to cap it all off we rubbed salt in the wound by promising to go back in for him this summer, and of course we didn't.
  4. I actually took Eustace's comments the other way as meaning it was important the situation was resolved quickly either way and that it was time for Ipswich to piss or get off the pot. I also read a piece in the Ipswich local press with Mckenna inferring that the two Clubs were still miles apart in terms of a valuation and he was playing it down saying thar SS was only one of a number of targets they were chasing etc etc
  5. I agree whole heartedly but I wonder if the powers that be will think the pursuit of the 3 points is worth potentially missing out on £8m for if he picks up an injury. I doubt it.
  6. Mike Jackman. I think you'll find Mike Hickman was the blonde striker from the Gordon Lee era chiselled out of granite!
  7. We haven't seen him yet. (If he signs) You probably said the same about Wahlstedt at the time.
  8. Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere but I saw online that Gallagher had to go off holding his calf less than 30 mins into his debut for Stoke which is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. You couldn't make this **** up - he won't get away with swinging the lead and not performing there for five seasons like he did here, they'll have him off down the road within a season I'd wager.
  9. What's your problem with Eustace? No way we're spending £2m on a keeper imo. Happy to be proved wrong.
  10. If he stays (which he no doubt won't) he'd probably still be the pick of our forward players though. You'd have to say if SS stays that overall we look theoretically stronger in forward areas but the new players are unproven so for me the season will hinge on how well he is replaced should the inevitable happen. I think it's very premature to say our relegation fears have eased but if SS either stays or is replaced well by someone not so far on the books I'd say we've given ourselves a chance and even that didn't look likely a week ago.
  11. Never thought Pickering's lack of pace was his main problem, it's his positional sense that's the problem, wanders much too far forward, all the opposition need to do is knock a ball in behind him and they're away.
  12. "Brilliant" in his "first year" is one hell of a stretch. He was good until about Christmas and pretty terrible thereafter as were most of the rest of the team tbf.
  13. I don't rate Hyam personally but what's even worse for me is his attitude. Not someone you'd want in the trenches with you when the pressure is on
  14. He'll be lucky if he scores 15 over his 3 year contract. And that's my last word on him. Gone. Good riddance.
  15. I usually agree with you on most things but don't understand where you're coming from on this. We KNOW for a fact that Gallagher is an absolutely atrocious player and was seemingly getting worse and worse. 3 League goals last season was it and didn't score in his last 20 or so outings for the Club. All new signings are a gamble. The new lads might be great, might not. But even if they aren't they cant really do any worse and that doesn't suddenly turn Gallagher into a good player. I put him in the Corry Evans/Jason Lowe Bracket of players who never performed and robbed the Club blind for years. Now we've finally got rid of him that calls for the uncorking of something fizzy tonight in my book. The more expensive stuff can wait until Waggott leaves and the time to really push the boat out will be when the owners sell up. One step at a time though.
  16. Fair enough, obviously nearly all transfer fees are paid in installments over the life of the contract these days; I just mistakenly assumed Add ons and sell on clauses were payable immediately. Makes sense when you think about It I suppose.
  17. I look at it the other way round - I don't think Ipswich are that serious about signing him - if they were only bidding £6m I think they were just chancing their arm seeing if they could get him for a ridiculous knockdown price due to our financial situation. Since that was rejected everything seems to have gone very quiet. I'd guess the player himself is keen to leave if a Prem Club comes calling so I'd still expect him to leave this window, just maybe not to Ipswich.
  18. Another Egg special to put alongside Wahlstedt, Hirst Ennis and Telalovic.
  19. If the £5m for Raya is only coming in in installments that's a really poor bit of negotiation on our part.
  20. Or alternatively this Rovers Insider bloke is probably completely full of shit. I can't see for one moment why Pasha would be bothered by adverse reaction to him allegedly telling the owners not to spend anything. If indeed he ever said it and was unwise enough to let the comment slip into the public domain in the first place. Doing unpopular stuff never seems to have fazed him in the past. As for Eustace "kicking off", who knows but it's not a massive stretch to assume he wouldn't have been happy with events up to now.
  21. About right. If Gallagher goes (please God) I might become the only supporter in town who purchases a phase 3 season ticket.
  22. You must have spent too long in France. I can tell what he's saying perfectly well.
