  1. Quite pleased with the reasonably starting line up. Nowt much on the bench though.
  2. Can't decide whether you've missed the sarcasm or not...........
  3. It's not a free hit - we need to win a bloody game!
  4. Yippee! The rationale behind this move from the Club's point of view seems to be cheapness. If Nixon is correct that we were only contributing 6k p.w. towards Baker's wage then we've probably been looking for a deal within the same budget rather than concentrating on quality.
  5. The only thing I'll say in his defence fitness wise is that he seems to have made 16 appearances this season. Although as they were for Plymouth who are rooted to the bottom of the table that is not necessarily a badge of honour. Can you imagine if he comes in as (very) short term cover for Travis and lasts about half an hour in true Fleck stylee.........
  6. Yeah only one fan said our recruitment team must be on smack. Another suggested spice! And everyone else was in full agreement. Not one dissenting voice.
  7. I'd be surprised if even they were that brass necked. I'll be pleasantly surprised though if we bring in the quality we need up front to sustain a play off push I'd think it'd be more likely to be a couple of low grade, low cost signings along the lines we've just made. Even that would be enough to see Eustace off in the short to medium term I reckon. What would be the point for him in carrying on? Hoping to be proved completely wrong obviously.
  8. If he's any good though seems odd Birmingham's new manager and owners don't rate him highly enough for a campaign in League 1.
  9. I'm sure they've got more money than we can imagine. I'm worried about the amount of money we have - yes. (Edit: - Wilsden beat me to it)
  10. Think he's had his deal terminated by Plymouth and we've signed him on a short term deal until the end of the season. Which is another great sign. Also looks about 55 on the picture of him wearing the scarf. Not that that will necessarily have any bearing on how he plays.
  11. Do they though? Is Forshaw really any better than Buckley or Garrett? No-one knows how good or bad O'Riordan is but he was highly rated at one point. Is Sanderson an obvious upgrade?
  12. Always "jam tomorrow" with this lot, or more specifically "jam later in the window". Which never actually arrives.
  13. Sanderson played all last season in a team that went down. Nothing we can do about it now, if he gets time on the pitch he'll have the full support of those in attendance as always.
  14. They might have been well intentioned but done even worse. Lot of big Clubs in League 1. I can't believe anyone would put the title win behind what happened subsequently. That's something we have over 85 other Clubs currently and that probably won't have changed much by the time we go to our graves.
  15. Leave things how they were 100%. The Walkers didn't want us and you can't second guess how alternative owners would have done.
  16. I'm amazed some people seem happy about Sanderson and maybe Forshaw coming in, If we're not signing people at least as good as or better than what we've already got for the sake of a couple of warm bodies in the building I'd rather have used youngsters in the event of cover being needed and save the money to go towards the priority positions. To think some people weren't happy with the prospect of Schlupp. Bottom of the barrel well and truly scraped with the cover signings - can't wait for the stellar striker and winger signings that will be hot on their heels. Lol.
  17. Cue a load more BS about them "having to pay twice" when sending money over etc etc when it gets adjourned again.
  18. Ah yes. You're the chap. Usual script "Everything going to plan, nothing to worry about, judge it at the end of the window". Blah blah. Do you not think it's telling that we've found a cheap Baker replacement inside a day or so whereas the priority positions we've known about for months remain unfilled? And will probably remain so, at least with any quality. Could do with unleaded now to tell us what's really going on.
  19. No point trying to argue with someone who thinks £18m for Adam Wharton was good business and a player already on the books (Travis) and Cantwell are adequate replacement for a player of his calibre. Very weird bunch on the LT site. There was actually someone else arguing on there this morning that we were a "development" Club and they didn't want us spending any money in the transfer window in case it put the Club at risk. No real fan would say that. Either not a Rovers supporter or a Club plant.
  20. Don't know anything about Forshaw but given a side anchored to the bottom of the table are willing to let him go, this doesn't exactly scream the "quality" that the Club and Eustace were banging on about in advance of the transfer window.
  21. I don't think people were very enthusiastic at the time. You could see him deteriorating almost before your eyes towards the latter end of his first spell. Should never have been given a second deal.
  22. I have a customer who is a massive Liverpool fan and who knows Fowler really well and he speaks very highly of him. Really nice and genuine guy who would do anything for you apparently. However he was obviously going through the motions in the knockings of his career when he was here. My customer recounted a tale of how he'd been on a night out at the time with Fowler in Liverpool on a Sunday night. About 2a.m. the following morning they're stood there with 2 beers and Robbie says "I'd better leave that, I've got training later on."
  23. Shame, that'll be his one major scoop of the window.
  24. Transfer window, what transfer window?
