Yeah but you can't have your cake and eat it. If it is indeed '"a long term project" you have to throw the likes of Phillips and Adam Wharton in and persevere with them come what may. Signing players to keep them out of the side defeats the entire purpose.

In answer to Roverfan99, good question, plenty of money was spent in summer but if we had two successive January windows with minimal investment whilst placed (very) handily that would be indicative of a crippling lack of ambition from owners and management alike.

In answer to MP - in general - it's becoming increasingly hard to argue against the suggestion that he is working to the owners remit.
