Yeah but you can't have your cake and eat it. If it is indeed '"a long term project" you have to throw the likes of Phillips and Adam Wharton in and persevere with them come what may. Signing players to keep them out of the side defeats the entire purpose.

In answer to Roverfan99, good question, plenty of money was spent in summer but if we had two successive January windows with minimal investment whilst placed (very) handily that would be indicative of a crippling lack of ambition from owners and management alike.

In answer to MP - in general - it's becoming increasingly hard to argue against the suggestion that he is working to the owners remit. Otherwise aanyone with such a poor record would have been history long ago. On Brockhall alone, that by his own admission was his brainchild and someone else must have pulled the plug on it.

In response to Paul Mani, who else should we blame other than Broughton for a failure to bring in anyone thus far this window and a very poor window in the summer incorporating dreadful signings like Szmodics, Mola and Hirst the latter of whom was apparently "our main target" despite having a record of 0/32 at Championship before coming here!
