  1. That was where he started wasn't it - at least as a wide right attacking player until the tactical genius that was Mowbray decided he'd be better off at full back.
  2. Dack's been the one glimmer of hope recently. Funny how many of the self proclaimed experts on here predicted he wouldn't be able to play "JDT's pressing brand of football". (Whatever that is)
  3. Kaminsky has regressed dramatically this season, was always an average shot stopper at best, if a big offer came in for him I'd take it, you know, indulge in a bit of player trading like other Clubs do. As for Morton, average player at best and imo he can't be arsed anyway, since the Preston game has looked like he's counting down the minutes until he returns to Liverpool for me.
  4. Realistically I don't see any coming in but I still think ideally we need two. Gallagher and Vale are absolutely useless and we might not be able to rely on BBD for goals if the rumours about him signing a pre contract agreement are true. Difficult to see where a goal may come from in this squad now unless Dack chips in with a few.
  5. Rubbish. Mowbray himself admitted in the press they opted not to offer any new contract extensions during Covid as he thought it wouldn't come across well in the prevailing climate and might unsettle the other players
  6. Horses mouth........apparently.
  7. Anyhow, two strikers needed now ideally I'd say. Not that out crack recruitment team are even capable of finding one. The army of analysts will feed a list of criteria into the computer, wait for it to crunch the results and then provide us with a list of players we can't afford.
  8. The problem with that touching little tale of self pity he spun you is that Waggott and Mowbray had a very healthy one off transfer budget made available to them by the owners for last January which they opted not to use. Irrespective of any Rothwell sale.
  9. Exactly this, Nyambe, Lenihan, Rothwell BBD allowed to walk out for nothing, an abortive attempt to flog off the training ground, what exactly does he have to do to get sacked.
  10. I agree he has to play games - why on earth can't he play them here?
  11. Signed a few, looked good in theory, didn't come off. Mowbray fell out with Giles and the Dutch RB who looked promising on paper turned out to be an injury prone dud. The main area in which we went wrong was in not prioritising a goalscorer and we appear to be repeating the mistake this time round.
  12. Hard to disagree. Of all the options out there he seems like one of the least worst which probably means he won't even be on our radar. I suppose in our case a lot would depend on his attitude the last time he was here.
  13. And whilst he has gone off the boil recently, there's by no means any guarantee that anyone who did come in would have equalled or bettered his nine League goals and 4 assists at this stage anyway.
  14. Depends entirely on his attitude I suppose. That needs a Fergie looking him squarely in the eye and assessing whether he has the hunger and desire for the move. Not reams of data analysis.
  15. Obviously, if you do end up with a striker, any striker , (which we haven't currently btw) it depends on who the striker you end up with is. If you end up with George Hirst you can say with a fair degree of confidence that a team of 15 have wasted yours and their time all summer and the Club's money. If the signing turns out to be successful they've done their job but they certainly haven't done their job either if they fail to unearth anyone the Club can actually bring in.
  16. In that particular instance it would appear we've put the majority of our eggs in the basket of a player who doesn't particularly want to come here and a Club who aren't particularly keen to let him go either. We should have been able to sniff out any ambivalence at an early stage and either moved on or at the very least had other options ready to go which it appears we haven't.
  17. We're not securing them though are we? I've made this point in numerous previous windows. if we don't land them we might as well be going for De Bruyne and Haaland. No prizes for wasting time and resources missing out on a player/players.
  18. Thank goodness someone else has pointed out the ludicrous nature of what is being claimed by an insider in the recruitment game. I thought my head was going to explode.
  19. I've read it all now. So according to you, the job of this army of 15 is to identify players who theoretically might possess the qualities we require but who we can't afford? What's the point in that? Surely they need to be identifying players who would be of benefit who we can afford?
  20. Wasn't aware of this, can you elaborate and provide a little more detail? Thanks in advance.
  21. Isn't Paul Feilder Commercial Director? At least that was my understanding. Don't disagree with your post as a whole.
  22. It's now almost a week since we were fed that crap about simply "waiting for the green light" from Brighton to close the Undav deal. I called BS on it at the time. How can you agree a financial package when the parent club haven't even decided if they want the deal to go ahead in the first place? Also is it not extremely worrying that one of our main targets this window has rocked up at errrr......the Club managed by our former manager? It would tend to suggest that the pool of talent from which we are drawing in terms of agents and agencies is still the same foul smelling cess pit it always was? Say this every transfer window and been saying it for years now, working in our recruitment department must be the cushiest number in the world. I used to put the inactivity down to Venus being in charge of getting the deals over the line and Mowbray's "You'll have to wait your turn and learn how Corry and Richie play" pep talk. But things don't appear to have improved recruitment wise with the change in structure and the acquisition of a new DOF. In fact if anything they seem to be even worse.
  23. Was about to say the above. Waggott is apparently all about the data and we have an army of analysts at the Club.
